@ahtypitosomakedonas yeah like i said it is probably the best if ur good at it but it is not for regular computer users or like intermediet users :/ but i think it will evolve to be one of the best os out there :)
why android on a pc? Thats for phones. If you want android on your pc, get linux. If you want to get the best operating system on your pc, get windows. Why linux? Because android was made by the same company as linux, and android is a modified phone version of linux. I never used macintosh, but I love windows.

I stopped watching when he said "calculator works greats let's do 5 +". Lol. Sry u don't need to use windows either. Android is a standalone os. The android SDK also includes an android virtual device emulator. The only difference is this version will boot on an x86 based CPU instead of an ARM CPU.
On a side note my old restored Mac mini seems faster than this iMac. It's from 06 yikes. Lol my advice would be to get more ram and an ssd. You could always load android x86 on it. That's got to us

@rx7sign I am glad I read your second comment before commenting back. I can see where virtualizing it into a laptop would prove crappy..but in the latest OS version on an actual Android phone, I have actually found it a very strong operating system..
what a bunch of noobs you guys just use VMWARE, dual boot and parallels is sooooooo 2006. Virtualization is where its at. And its extremely easy shame on you if you need help or have to watch a tutorial.
you forgot one important thing, when a user boots, they must change the boot options to boot off of a disk, which is done by pressing f2, going to boot, and changing order from HDD first, to CD/DVD drive as first.
I'm not generally one to complain about helpful videos, but I cannot believe the mention of Windows AND burning a DVD in this video. If you're running Parallels, just boot a Parallels instance off the ISO image -- no burning of a DVD and no useless use of Windows.
Repeat: All you need is the ISO and Parallels to do this.
i fail to see the point. it's simply my phone... g1. i can do the same thing buy installing the devkit and running the simulator... this isnt an os it's just a simulated android device. just go to the Tmo store and save some time.
Can I not just boot off the dvd without using windows xp?
I uninstalled parallels awhile ago and lost the disks (or maybe I didn't, I am just too lazy too look). Plus, I have like 4 gb of space left on my hard drive. and don't want to use my precious space in windows...
Well obviously I am not the only one that has had the audio problem so stop sending me comments about bullshit get a motherfucking life. I see if I had something negative to say bout Jon but I said nothing of a sort but that the audio was low.
Hey Jon, I luv your tutorials but you have to speak up, turn up the volume or buy mic and use it because I am at full volume and can barely hear you. Besides that good job
You do not need to have windows to run this .iso and in fact you do not need to have a blank cd or dvd to run the android system :P you did it the hard way You can just open up parallels or vmware fusion and press new machine and then locate the iso file, then set the operating system to linux and run, easy and simple
Torrents doesn't equal piracy. Some companies distribute things over torrents...And so you know you can pirate things with or without torrents. Piracy isn't limited to strictly torrents
FYI, uTorrent, or torrent in general, does not equal piracy.
It is just a way to download and upload data, and is widely used for legal, official distribution of software, television broadcasts etc.

Now I'm not sure if this is the case with android, but I know with every other .iso that has a live operating system, you can simply run the .iso from parallels without even having to burn it to a DVD. I do it all the time with Ubuntu.
As I understand it's like a LIVE linux distro. Why do you need windows at all for this? Can't you just put it into you CD-rom as long as you have a x86 system?
