  • i hate when people think that comment section is a a chat bar !!!!!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • tnx =)

  • it doesnt recognize the webcam because you dont have it plugged in to parallels or whatever.

  • WHAT? WHAT? I CANT HEAR YOU!

  • hahahahahahahahahahhahahaha

¿Windows XP inside Mac in order to run Linux?

    I love the irony!

  • Maybe this sounds stupid but... Can`t this just be done with virtualbox? :\

  • Can we install it on VMware Player?

  • @MrFullofshirt Your mother does too.

  • YAAAYAAA LINUX!

  • too bad android is multi touch, gyroscped, accalerated, and has low resolutin. good luck on a computer mate

  • @MrFullofshirt You suck donkey cock.

  • How are you supposed to send message? Do you have credit on you Mac? Lol

  • @MrFullofshirt fanboys suck ass

  • @MrFullofshirt No... You suck donkey ass

  • To try a newer project, go to the Android [dash] x86 dot-org website.

  • Has anyone gotten android to boot off an actual CD without using virtualization software?

  • F*ck you mac is shit

  • didn't work for me WIN 7

  • the only reason this sucks is cuz u cant download apps

  • FAKE

  • @MrSonic3344 no its real

  • I hate linux never try it apps suck interface is shit and it is less costumisable than windows if ur not some kind of pro on it

  • @AlexAvlonitis dude no way! linux is the best more safer than Windows or Mac!

  • @ahtypitosomakedonas yeah like i said it is probably the best if ur good at it but it is not for regular computer users or like intermediet users :/ but i think it will evolve to be one of the best os out there :)

  • Mine took 1 minute POWNED

  • why android on a pc? Thats for phones. If you want android on your pc, get linux. If you want to get the best operating system on your pc, get windows. Why linux? Because android was made by the same company as linux, and android is a modified phone version of linux. I never used macintosh, but I love windows.

  • @Thehero137 To test your Android apps on your pc.

  • @Thehero137 - really...and what company is that? the linux company? linux is open source, and many projects and organizations, mostly non profit, are involved in the continued development.

  • can you get apps installed on this?

  • This is a great alternative way to do it for your mac on my channel!

  • man this sucks, just get LINUX. its so fast and runs alot better. much smoother too.

  • @SmakDofficial so true, I don't use windows or Macintosh *YET" but I love Linux, so compatible so less laggy but then again Android is based on Linux :(

  • @vaibzzz123 and mac is build on linux as well

  • @OgrAdaY no, there completely different. Mac is built on Darwin Unix, and Linux is in the Unix-Like family, with BSD and Solaris.

  • u can use a CD-Rom, correct? its only about 185 mb

  • angry birds on the comp XD

  • @barclytheking there is a PC and Mac version of Angry Birds, it's sweet

  • @vaibzzz123 yes there is

  • can i dualboot with windows 7 home premium with android ??

  • why doesnt the browser work?

  • I stopped watching when he said "calculator works greats let's do 5 +". Lol. Sry u don't need to use windows either. Android is a standalone os. The android SDK also includes an android virtual device emulator. The only difference is this version will boot on an x86 based CPU instead of an ARM CPU.

On a side note my old restored Mac mini seems faster than this iMac. It's from 06 yikes. Lol my advice would be to get more ram and an ssd. You could always load android x86 on it. That's got to us

  • im building a pc so im going to put this on it but can i just start it out with this or do i have to get like windows 7 and then put it on or unbunto or how ever you spell it

  • Use VirtualBox, you wont need the blank dvd, just run the .iso file.

  • can you use power iso?

  • PLEASE HELP

how can i run windows on my macbook ?

like the guy uses it on the video

    on a pop up window

    PLEASE REPLY :)

  • @matias7anriquez Well because apple is a bunch of money hogs , you can't unless you have bootcamp , with a pc you can dual boot free.

So get bootcamp or try googling an alternate (if possibly free) program for dual booting os's on your macbook

  • @bubbajimmy8 thanks buddy, but in my pc how can i run snow leopard ?

    take care

  • @matias7anriquez Bootcamp, Google it...

  • great tutorial!

  • are running all the games for android from the market on the pc?

  • Use Virtual Box if you want to virtualize it It is FREE and works the best. NOT A DEMO. If you have Windows use infra Recorder to burn it. Go to action. Burn image. Then select the ISO. Use Virtual Box and do a new system. But please tell me how to INSTALL IT. someone please

  • i can get to the live android wallpaper screen, but i cant get past that.

    im running windows 7.

can you tell me what i did wrong?

  • how can i download from the new rapidshare?

  • can i use a flash drive instead of a disk?

  • Or VirtualBox for free. You don't need to burn an .iso to a disc for virtualization software.

  • @74ryanwolf I use VirtualBox!

  • @PiPerson95 Yeah VirtualBox is better.

  • @74ryanwolf I don't know if it's better - I don't have much experience with Parallels or VMware - but it's definitely more worth the price.

  • Android just absolutely sucks. I mean it is hands down the worst OS I have played with on a "new" mobile device

  • @rx7sign And can you explain your reasoning for why Android sucks so much?

  • @chrypton1 It doesnt suck, but virtualizing it in an environment where its useless (in this instance pc) its sucky

  • @rx7sign It would be much better if the Wi-Fi worked

  • @rx7sign I am glad I read your second comment before commenting back. I can see where virtualizing it into a laptop would prove crappy..but in the latest OS version on an actual Android phone, I have actually found it a very strong operating system..

  • what a bunch of noobs you guys just use VMWARE, dual boot and parallels is sooooooo 2006. Virtualization is where its at. And its extremely easy shame on you if you need help or have to watch a tutorial.

  • @rx7sign Wow I just played with it, Android fucking sucks! How the hell could you run this on your phone.

  • @rx7sign Parallels is virtualization.

  • can you run windows 7 and android?

  • 115 seconds remaining... nice, very nice...

-next time try megaupload for the sake of your users ;P

  • @bmw2go11 he didnt upload it, but i agree megaupload is better.

  • you forgot one important thing, when a user boots, they must change the boot options to boot off of a disk, which is done by pressing f2, going to boot, and changing order from HDD first, to CD/DVD drive as first.

  • got it thx

  • But you have to pay for rapid share I still like to try it though.

  • You should make a video on how to get the Android Market on the emulator.

  • Yea Virtual Box is FREEEEE and it works nicely.:)

  • Virtual Box is free but i prefer Virtual PC, which is a bit easier to use.

  • I'm not generally one to complain about helpful videos, but I cannot believe the mention of Windows AND burning a DVD in this video. If you're running Parallels, just boot a Parallels instance off the ISO image -- no burning of a DVD and no useless use of Windows.

Repeat: All you need is the ISO and Parallels to do this.

  • fuck paralelles go VMware workstation

  • i xa burd live android in a CD?

  • cannnnn you text haha

  • yea android needs to stay on mobile phones.

  • what OS are you using...looks like a mix between mac os, and windows 7...when u click u have this kind of ripple effect on the curser....(windows 7?)

  • thats not his OS, its his screencasting app. it just ripples so people know when hes clicking....good for how-to vids

  • Wow. This is crappy. Just get a G1 or wait till Google releases Android for netbooks.

  • You forgot the free and probably the best Virtualization: VirtualBox

  • lol

  • heres wat you do for mac to avoid installing windows..

    -install parallels

    -download android iso

-open parallels and click the left option (run windows on your mac)

-when u get to operating system detection locate the android iso

-when it asks you what os it is... choose linux and the choose ubuntu for the verson -then follow the guide and start and it should be working..

    hope this helps!

  • @MrIDFC Thanks Man!

  • If you have Parallels, you can run the iso directly off your HD without burning to a DVD.

  • my computer doesn't move after the android cool logo part

  • i fail to see the point. it's simply my phone... g1. i can do the same thing buy installing the devkit and running the simulator... this isnt an os it's just a simulated android device. just go to the Tmo store and save some time.

  • Can I not just boot off the dvd without using windows xp?

I uninstalled parallels awhile ago and lost the disks (or maybe I didn't, I am just too lazy too look). Plus, I have like 4 gb of space left on my hard drive. and don't want to use my precious space in windows...

  • Yeah, i think Jon just is using parallels because he doesn't wan't to reboot, because he needs to record it ^^

  • If you want to do it by just booting off disk, you will need a keyboard with a "home" key to go back home Just FYI.

  • Google hasn't released anything yet so...?

  • can anyone help me get it running on my PC... i cant get it to work

  • Well obviously I am not the only one that has had the audio problem so stop sending me comments about bullshit get a motherfucking life. I see if I had something negative to say bout Jon but I said nothing of a sort but that the audio was low.

  • I thought android was the software that the Google Phone runs? The OS? What the fucK?

  • this is a computer version that they're working on

  • no they're not. It's a community based project, Google are making Chrome OS.

  • wats android stand for??

  • why waste a dvd when you can open the .iso file directly in parallels or any virtualization software? :)

  • People are asking? They are surprised why Jon wasted a DVD. I have already tried to boot the Live Android from ISO and it works. :-)

  • Wrong. :-) Virtual machines software usually have the feature to treat an image as real DVD for the virtual machine.

  • why not recommend virtual box as its free and open source ?

  • CANT HEAR YOU!!!!!!

  • turn up the volume idiot

  • If you see that other people are commenting on the sound than I must not be the only one, why do you even bother with stupid ass comments!

  • are you on drugs?

  • great video but isnt the windows in parallels step un needed, cant you just run android in parrallels

  • yeah

  • just found out what to do if you download the two part:

on mac go to terminal and cd to the right dorectory, then type: cat liveandroid.iso.001 liveandroid.iso.002 > liveandroid.iso

  • Hey Jon, I luv your tutorials but you have to speak up, turn up the volume or buy mic and use it because I am at full volume and can barely hear you. Besides that good job

  • your speakers suck.

  • my macbook speakers work just fine.

  • obviously not, my iMac speakers are plenty loud enough

  • You do not need to have windows to run this .iso and in fact you do not need to have a blank cd or dvd to run the android system :P you did it the hard way You can just open up parallels or vmware fusion and press new machine and then locate the iso file, then set the operating system to linux and run, easy and simple

  • is this the same operating system that's on the g1? it looks like it.

  • Yea it is. The G1 is using Android by Google.

  • Torrents doesn't equal piracy. Some companies distribute things over torrents...And so you know you can pirate things with or without torrents. Piracy isn't limited to strictly torrents

  • windows nooooooooo

  • @xMusicCompletesMex

FYI, uTorrent, or torrent in general, does not equal piracy.

It is just a way to download and upload data, and is widely used for legal, official distribution of software, television broadcasts etc.

For example, Norways largest TV-network, NRK, are constantly offering more and more of their content via torrent, as it will save them hosting and bandwidth costs immensly.

  • what is android?

  • whats android?

  • Now I'm not sure if this is the case with android, but I know with every other .iso that has a live operating system, you can simply run the .iso from parallels without even having to burn it to a DVD. I do it all the time with Ubuntu.

  • If you have a G1 and the pc on a wireless network, can you use the G1 as a drive and text message and other stuff right from the computer?

  • u dont need a dvd, use a CD-r

  • You don't need any optical discs, use ISO. :-)

  • the .iso file link is not working, when I click in free user it gives me an error

Great video but could you help me?

  • It's working, you just have to press download right away as the timer runs out.

  • Thanks for the quick answer but the download buttom is not appearing for me!

    Thanks anyway

  • Is working now! tanks! 120 seconds to wait,, haha bye!

  • Will this Windows work with boot camp?

  • Really helpful video Jon! Nice tips, and a good walkthrough!

  • ugh android is horrible.. i hate it not worth the 45 min download

  • great video!

  • no in a virtual machine you can run off a .iso or a dvd

so why would you waste a dvd

in parallels he can make a new machine and choose .iso and locate the android .iso file and done

there is no need to have it run on windows and restart

  • Sound is horrible in this video my volume was all the way up and still could barely hear you

  • same

  • As I understand it's like a LIVE linux distro. Why do you need windows at all for this? Can't you just put it into you CD-rom as long as you have a x86 system?

  • You could boot it directly but you would not be able to run a screen recording software in the same time.

  • I made an experiment. I ran Android in VirtualBox, there weren't Windows installed on it and it worked.

John said like it is required to have Windows installed on your virtual machine, but it is not.

  • Comment removed

  • you could just mount the image instead of burning it.

  • couldn't you just download the android emulator for your pc instead?? the browser works on that one

  • if i want android on my netbook, can i load it onto a osb drive since netbooks dont have optical drives?

  • thats cool.

  • you don't need to burn it parallels will install a .iso file just download it to you desktop

  • Looks pretty awesome mate and fantastic video showing us all what it looks like. All the best mate and take care

  • wow i got my start menu on that side too

  • why do you need to burn it

cant you just use the .iso image to run the virtual machine

  • Cool.

  • why not just run this directly on a windows machine? just wondering..

  • You could not run any screen recording software... And you need no Windows for this.

  • does VM fusion work?

  • what is Android??

  • hey jon, you should go to system prefs, then sound, click the input tab, and turn the impute volume up so that your mic records a bit louder

  • is there a difference between 7 and vista

  • no. that's why the names are different.

    -.-'

  • theres NO difference and thats why the names are different, okay....

  • wow. can't sense sarcasm when it's staring you in the face.

  • i knew you were being sarcastic its just it was pointless to waste your time writing that

  • the last of a point is exactly the point of my comment.

life gets boring. i do these shit to fill it up.

  • oh, thats nice i guess

  • yeah big difference t00

    7 has better visual styles

its faster than vista coz its based on xp

and professional and ultimate will have a virtual pc/xp to have a better compatibility with some drivers and programs

  • thanks for clearing that up

  • Ah I thought Google had released a operating system, this is just a virtual phone on mac.

  • No, Google is about to release an operating system because some netbook makers want to put Android on them but Google has not designed Android to work this way. The Chrome OS should be made for netbooks.

  • Can't hear you dude - very poor audio

  • i hear him with no problem....

    is your headset/speaker on?

  • great video! i wasn´t aware that google had put this up. thanks for pointing us to this. i will try this out!

  • yo fix your mic lol can't hear it on my laptop

  • fix ur laptop speaker lol

  • Virtualbox ftw
