Regarding vid. (As you probably already know) Blizzard can and will change the lore as they see fit, on the fly if needs be. They do good working with Novel writers but regarding patches and additional content, that's as far as it goes. Wacky in game lore for the win.

This has been my theory since Cata came out. Thrall, Garrosh, and some Alliance big names will fight with you. It'll end up that everyone is trapped by tentacles or dead, and Garrosh has some big burst of anger, breaking free and killing Deathwing, then dying from his wounds. Cutscene: Garrosh says some words to Thrall, and then dies in an incredibly similar way to his father. If you think this is a good idea give it a thumbs up for Jesse and Pride, if not, thumbs it down. -Del Terro

a little clarification regarding why the old gods battled each other.

They didn't hate each other, they just loved chaos, strife, battle and bloodshed, so they had these LARGE army of faceless, and elementals, and they pitted them against each other for their amusement.

Kinda like playing a 3way chess match, with real living beings as the pieces. The war never ended and it entertained them till the titans came and put a stop to that.
