Boxing is an important portion of fighting. Now w/ that being said, if that's you're only weapon then you're bound to fall. MMA is complete fighting. Kimbo is a nice striker but terrible grappler...If any boxer encounters a good grappler w/ a solid chin, then the boxer will more than likely lose in a street fight, where there are no rule and no ref to say "Time Out." I you disagree then try and walk into an MMA gym w/ just boxing skills and see what happens your 1st few fights.

Kimbo looked quite good in this fight. Very aggressive and effective. I do have to say that James Wade looked quite terrible. He doesn't look like he has a clue how to fight against an aggressive fighter. Throw a jab, keep your guard high, or at least do something. That was far too easy of a KO for Kimbo.

Ok im sorry it's very obvious to understand the fundamentals of all this, boxers are boxers mma fighters are mma fighters, thats two diffirent worlds people, now if a legend in the octagon went up against a legend in the ring in a stand up fight the mma fighter would get droped within seconds guarenteed,now if the ring legend went up against an mma legend in the octagon he would get worked because mma's don't just focus on boxing technique they do it all, but boxers stand up is all they practice

Jesus, are we really talking about which is better? Boxing or MMA.... MMA pwns boxing hands down. Thats like saying which is better 2D or 3D. MMA has boxing as well as other striking methods. Boxing has a more sissy rules. Kimbo Slice, as much as I like him as a fighter, went to boxing because he COULDN'T cut it in MMA. Clearly we see how he is able to dominate this section of fighting. I don't take anything away from Boxing, just MMA is Boxing plus a WHOLE lot more.

Obv boxers are the superior strikers, they're specialists, thats all they do so they have a much more technical aproach to it because they have nothing else to worry about.

1. In an MMA match, the MMA fighter wins.

2. In a boxing match, the boxer wins.

3. In a real fight or "street" fight, the MMA fighter will win.

So if you really wanna compare, MMA fighter wins two out of three times. Get over it and enjoy both sports for what they are

Kickboxing is better than boxing do you know what Gokhan Saki would do to either of the Klitschko's he'd kick them till their legs bled. Do you know what Rashad Evans would do to David Haye he'd slam him so hard he'd puke and than tapp him out. Boxers are better standup fighters than MMA fighters but its not enough that a boxer would be able to knockout a MMA fighter before he got taken down and tapped out.

MMA is the sport of fighting and boxing is a limited part of fighting. Boxing prohibits so many aspects of fighting. Why anyone would want to participate in something with so many restrictions is dumb. Toney could have boxed Couture in their fight but chose to tap out instead.
