I sure that is true with common drugs like MJ, it's just as easy to access and any legal drug. However some drugs like LSD are nearly impossible to get and if legalized greater access would lead to greater usage. No?
I don't know. Can you provide evidence for that claim?
As I said, even if there was an increase in drug use, it would still be a transfer of wealth from the black market to the white market (could be taxed for example and create jobs).
That's not including the reduction in tax dollars spent from less people in jail, and less police officers.
I am not disputing any of the benefits of legalization. As a marketing professional I can tell you that there would be a spike in usage as there is for any new product on the market that would tapper off over time.
Long term impact to productivity is my only concern, since the US currently has the highest productivity on earth, I guess I shouldn't loose any sleep over it...
'However some drugs like LSD are nearly impossible to get and if legalized greater access would lead to greater usage.'
Shanedk gave sources in his video about the war on drugs the claim that the drug usage rate has been 1.3% for over about 100 years.
Again, even if this weren't true, it would still be a huge help in dealing with our crime and violence problem, as he points out, which would hugely boost productivity in the long run.
@Surhotchaperchlorome, please help me out here. Shanedx blocked me because of a misunderstanding. He read my comment out of context on the drug legalization video. I said that certain things like child pornagraphy, cell phone jammers, and dangerous weapons sould be illegal. You replied: "you want to make those things illegal to?" And so I said "wait, you think child pornagraphy is legal? O_o" I didn't mean to offend you, and he read it out of context. Please tell him this for me on that video.
@Surhotchaperchlorome, thanks for sticking up for me. NOT! What I say is true. The comments are still there I think. You can go back and see for yourself. Look, just because I disagree with you and shanedx on one point is not reason to ban me!! And by the way, I never said that woman deserved to be killed, my point was that it wasn't drug illegalization that did it but stupid cops. But even if I was wrong, it doesn't mean you should lie about "accusations of child molestation." Geez.
@Surhotchaperchlorome, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?! I can not understand your malaciousness towards me. I feel betrayed as I more then certainly would have stuck up for you had our places been reversed. Open and rational debate does not call for such dogmatic rage. Those nasty, rude little comments were uncalled for and out of line. Your accusations of me were dishonest and unjustified. If anyones a scumbag...
So go ahead and block me, I have no interest in ever interacting with you again, you are a terrible human being. I will just block you as well. I am going to send shanedk a message as I never should have put trust on such a dispicable person as you. I will back up my claims with the evidence and respectfully request that he unblock me.
So go right on over to the video and and send him a warning message to him and insult me. I don't care. If he is reasonable at all, hopefully he will block YOU.
I disagree.
I think all drugs should be legalized.

how would you offset the loss in productivity?
BasicEconomics 2 years ago
There wouldn't be a loss.
Look at Shanedk's videos on the war on drugs.
Drug use isn't dependent on whether they are legal or not.
Even if it wasn't, it would still be a HUGE transfer of wealth from the black market to the white market.

Also, it means people who would have been put in jail for having a private life will be in the workforce, increasing productivity even more.
I don't see how you think that
greater drug use = less productivity.
If the people were using them at work, I could see that point, but you never gave any context.
Surhotchaperchlorome 2 years ago
That might make sense in the past but not now. There are certain drugs that should be retained as prescriptions... fetanyl anyone?
uberbcs 1 year ago
When did I saw that all drugs being legal means they all have to be available over the counter?
Surhotchaperchlorome 1 year ago
I said there are some drugs that should be retained as prescriptions... you know, prescription drugs aren't exactly OTC.
Either way, point taken.
