@jflandrvr00 you can get an o/r mid pipe for around $150, and the catback system (which includes the mufflers and tips) is usually around $500, some more some less depending on what system it is. but if you get a catted mid pipe, those usually start at $350 and go on up. exhaust system is a very expensive mod on mustangs, but well worth it in the end

How do they test your car for emissions? i know where i'm at they stick something in the tailpipe then hold the rev at 2500rpm for 10 seconds. No checking for cats or anything.

Yup I found it. Sounds mean. How much louder ins the SLP compared with the Flowmaster 44's? What does your current Stang have? I'd imagine it turns a lot of heads.

@KavaniLoyan honestly the only way you'll get close to this with cats would be this set up... long tube headers, catted x-pipe (has high flow cats), then the slp loudmouth 1 catback (or just replace the stock mufflers with slp loudmouth 1 muffers). that's about the only way
@KavaniLoyan all my stangs got like 16-17mpg all city, 19-20mpg mixed. my silver 2000 gt was my favorite, but this one got more compliments in a week then all my others one did combined! but i was never a fan of this body style so that's why i got rid of it.

what do you think a old scholl 5.0 with bbk unequal shortys, magnaflow catted x-pipe, and lm1's with 4 in tips would sound like?......would smaller tip mean a louder idle?

@speeddemon0712 well my cuzin heard plenty of o/r prochamber mid pipes running slp loudmouth 1 stangs that's the first exhaust setup he recommended me for my mach 1 before installing the super 44s but my personal favorite exhaust setup right now is the one i have on which is Magnaflow o/r H pipe and Flowmaster super 10 series the loudest most agressive flowmaster mufflers they have!!!!!

@browningdavid yea this is pretty much straight piped... it's stock manifolds, o/r x-pipe (no cats) with slp lm1's. it was and it a great exhaust combo, for maybe 2-3 months, then it starts to get annoying. i LOVE loud, but this is one of the loudest exhaust combos you'll ever hear in a muscle car and it will get on your nerves eventually. the lm2's with say an o/r x-pipe will sound good on your cobra in my opinion
@Halocon the o/r x-pipe was already on there when i bought the car, but you can pick one up for roughly $150. the SLP's were $150, and the tips were $100. plus maybe $100 for instal

@thirdgenguy17 i ended up having to rebuilt the tranny and put a new clutch in it. it would overheat in traffic, just and a few other little things. i fixed most of it, but i ended up getting tired of that body style anyways so i got rid of it

The SLP's sounded ok when you rev it but when you take off it starts chugging like a whale queefing. The 44's sounded 10x better. "Everyone" has them because they sound so awesome.

@browningdavid yea this is pretty much straight piped... it's stock manifolds, o/r x-pipe (no cats) with slp lm1's. it was and it a great exhaust combo, for maybe 2-3 months, then it starts to get annoying. i LOVE loud, but this is one of the loudest exhaust combos you'll ever hear in a muscle car and it will get on your nerves eventually. the lm2's with say an o/r x-pipe will sound good on your cobra in my opinion

@Halocon the o/r x-pipe was already on there when i bought the car, but you can pick one up for roughly $150. the SLP's were $150, and the tips were $100. plus maybe $100 for instal

@thirdgenguy17 i ended up having to rebuilt the tranny and put a new clutch in it. it would overheat in traffic, just and a few other little things. i fixed most of it, but i ended up getting tired of that body style anyways so i got rid of it

SLP Loudmouth 1 are loud and agressive but Flowmaster super 44 or original 40s have the samething but with a deeper sound!!!!!!

The SLP's sounded ok when you rev it but when you take off it starts chugging like a whale queefing. The 44's sounded 10x better. "Everyone" has them because they sound so awesome.
