  • Think the Gaiman confusion is due to him having linked to this in a blog in like '06 or '07 ... not entirely sure when, and I'm too lazy to look.

  • @JAYGERR666

    Thank you so very much!

  • i bel;ive it was alan moore and david j (from bauhuaus/love and rockets) who wrote it for a birthday party for daniel ash... or maybe kevin haskins....

  • I'm sure others have asked this question: but who wrote this song? I know Alan Moore is the singer but who wrote the original lyrics, what album was this from, and what band and/or company made it?

I reason why my question is so detailed is because I hope to use this song as a source for my senior thesis. So I would be grateful for the answers as soon as possible.

  • Every time I listen to this song, I picture the seven-foot sasquatch making quack noises.

  • I love this song - used to listen to it as a teenager! well done for posting!!

  • Written by Neil Gaiman, sung by Alan Moore. This is what happens when you put two comic book gods together with a bottle of whiskey.

  • @GGUBoss not written by gaiman...Moore wrote it as well.

  • @GGUBoss Nothing to do with Gaiman.

  • @GGUBoss "Written by Neil Gaiman"

It was written & sung by Moore, but Gaiman had nothing whatsoever to do with it. It was originally released as a flexi-disk in Critters No. 23 some time prior to 1988. The band 'The Sinister Ducks' consisted of Moore under the pseudonym Translucia Baboon, David J of Bauhaus fame, & Alex Green from The Jazz Butcher.

Why do you think it had anything to do with that racist Gaiman?

  • @catalyst8 OK, while you are correct in your facts, what in blue hell gave you the idea that Gaiman's a racist?

  • DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS!!!!

  • Quite simply one of the funniest things I have ever seen!

  • Fully idiotizm!

  • @altium1

"How can I make myself even more awesome?"

  • What the hell was Alan Moore THINKING when he did THIS?!?

  • @timepoet77 Ducks...?

  • @timepoet77 More like, what was he smoking and why won't he share?

  • who could deny THEY'D BE BETTER OFF DEAD?

  • You know you need to go to bed when you've been watching this for 3 hours -.-

  • Anatidaephobia: The fear that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you.

  • @MirakeiManiac A fan of the Far Side? I approve.

  • omg

  • Oh, brilliant! I haven't heard this song in years, since my old turntable finally expired.

  • rorschach's journal: Killed a duck today...it was good.

  • ... I've always known. Somewhere.

  • my question is: how is this not another version of a rickroll? this is so much better than "well, this is story of about how my life got flip-turned upside-down..."

  • ahahaah this really made my day xD

  • oh Alan Moore, you so crazy.

  • Webfooted fascists...

  • Epic Lols Here

  • Omg you know whats really weird? My ducks name is Synyster Duck! Not after this though, i just came across this! He is named after the guitarist Synyster Gates.....Weird lol

  • Rage duck is offended by this ignorant show of racism. >:V

  • what are they doing at night in the park?

think of them waddling about in the dark

sneering and whispering and stealing your cars

    reading pornography, smoking cigars

  • Do you know where I can find Alan Moore's songs? I want them badly... I'm addicted to this song and to all his comics... A REAL GENIUS!

  • there was only ever this and Old Gangsters Never Die.

Since the mid 1990s he has also been a part of Moon and Serpent Grand Egyptian Theatre of Marvels, which involves his spoken word prose, David J & Tim Perkins music combined into an occult 'working' in one-of performances.

  • This song always makes me tear from laughing. alan Moore ftw!

  • ha ha ha ha ha

  • Great video. One question. Why make the video?

  • You should ask the McRoll person that first before this person.

  • this is awesome . anyone know where i can find the song " old gangsters never die " ?

  • ALAN MOORE FTW!

  • That was hilarious!

  • The Sinister Ducks were comic book writer Alan Moore, Bauhaus bass player David J, some members of The Jazz Butcher, and possibly others as well.

  • What band did this song? Are they nuts? But they are very funny!

  • Alan Moore must do alot of drugs.

  • Well his first job was being the "world's most incompetant LSD dealer".

  • well , he did used to sell LSD ....

  • Apparently he has a lifetime supply of weed.

  • Weed? Please. Alan Moore's shed skin cells are frequently cut into weed to make it more potent.

  • Wow! I'd better keep an eye on these guys at the bird hospital! :)

  • Wtf!!! I love Alan Moore.

  • AMAZING.

  • if you think this is strange - the b side really was bizarre

  • Oh yeah. Old gangsters never die!

  • oh my god pornography and cigars! i should chill with ducks more often

  • But remember they are sinister and evil...

  • oh well its pornography and cigars

  • Oh my!! I'm going to watch my step around DUCKS!!

  • If you feel this way about ducks, check out "Snobbledobble Ducks" (search). Have some compassion. Hey, I know you made this for fun (and it was great), but please check out my video and leave a comment. Thanks. MAV

  • It reminds me of the song "Fish heads"

  • What was Alan Moore thinking when he did this?

  • The evil ducks do, maybe?

  • I'm guessing he ingested some sort of esoteric herb and came into contact with a Mesopotamian hellfire duck-god, who teleported him back and forth across time, showing him all the evil perpetrated by "that webbe-footed creatyr which knoweth not mercy" (as quoted from the Necronomicon)

  • Lol, I'm guessing that you have to right.

  • Long live the mallard!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • excellent

  • i have 2 ducks named tofo and llama

  • Who knew a guy could write a groundbreaking conterverisal graphic novel and also be in a band with a single that singins about ducks looking a porn!

  • hahha haven't seen this in aaages, forgotten how muhc it made me laugh :P

  • "Vocals by alan moore"

  • girls think he's cuddly, I think he's sinister

  • señor porro

  • Some of my best friends are ducks.

  • Someone needs to do an AMV

of this song with Donald Duck and his nephews.

  • I want to do it, but i cant find it somewhere, help me...

  • Ah god, this is a perfect parody of racism.

  • this is such a kl song, captures wot i think of them perfectly! i became so obsessed with this song. in d.t we were even making hats, i chose a march of the sinister ducks theme! every lesson i would walk in a lesson and say to my friends either 'ducks' or 'quack'. i then started of saying in different lessons, i even started to do in my science and art work!

  • I just pulled out this single I bought back in the early 90's. That's why im on the internet looking them up now. Does anyone know if it's worth anything? I know it's very rare and it's got David J of Bauhaus and some other guy in the band.

  • Put it on eBay and make a big thing about it being written and sung by Alan Moore. The nerd hordes will descend upon it like locusts.

  • Quite strange

  • thats scary

  • cool

  • I don't think Smirnoff Ice counts as "turning to booze."

  • Ducks have a really low tolerance to spirits. That crazy bastard might as well be drinking paint stripper.
