Illegal Tow Signs-Part II - People Behaving Badly

i saw a guy's car in my old apartments getting hooked up for a tow so i knocked on his door and 3 big ass dudes came running out, after a brief confrontation the cowardly thief tow truck driver drove off empty handed and those guys poured their combined weight in beer down my throat

They never film the entrance to this lot . They just show all the signs that this store doesnt even need to display . The property only needs the required signs at the ENTRANCE to each parking lot . They MUST be at the entrance , by law . 22658 a. 1 All these other signs dont need to meet any criteria and are just there as a heads up to people that park there .

@swarthylatincharm DID not need to film the entrance bcause there were no signs, and even if there were signs they did not meet the minimum requirements under Californa Law!!!

I actually love your segments ! And it's so neat that you're actually responding , btw. And if at each entrance to the lot they didnt have the signs as mandated by CVC 22658 then , wow , I dont know how they stay in business . All those tows would be illegal . But , my point is , by law , they only need 1 sign at each entrance for all those tows to be legal . Safeway is actually warning people that they can be towed with those other signs but they are not needed at all .

Usually the tow signs have to be at the entrance of the parking lot .Actually , legally , they only need one at each entrance of the parking lot. That's actually the local police departments job , or it is in San Jose , to go to the property and have police officers make sure the signs are in the right place . Once the police give the ok then you can legally tow off the lot . All those extra signs are not required at all . Section 22658 a.) 1

Great Job! I am in D/FW Texas and I will be video taping and taking pictures of the Illegal or non-existent Tow Signs here as well. My car was almost towed yesterday while I was doing a job at an apt. complex but I got into my car, locked the doors and told the tow truck driver that he needs to call the cops, if he wants my car. My car was actually towed a couple of times from the apts. where I used to live but, I got it back for free the next day, both times. No Signs/Illegal Signs = No Tow!

@studpuppy69 Tow Signs have to fit a certain criteria to be considered "legal" tow signs. Each State is different but each State has a specific set of rules that go into creating Tow Signs.

As far as what happened in this video... the mans vehicle was towed and there were no signs that were visible from the parking lot, until the next day. If there are no tow signs and your vehicle is towed, then it is an Illegal Tow.
