Steve Jobs did change the world in a positive way! He changed the movie industry with Pixar, he revolutionized the computer industry with the Macintosh, he changed the music industry with the iPod, he changed the phone industry with the iPhone, and changed the tablet industry with the iPad! Without him, we would practically be in the dark ages! Thank you!
If all these great minds knew that they are being used to essentially sell electronic devices by an American corporation, they would not stop throwing up.
Apple saying "think different" is thinking differently already by not making the statement right by grata mic standards Steve jobs was in fact think different
For all you confused people out there -- this isn't saying all these visionaries would use Apple products. What the ad is saying is that these are people who thought differently and henceforth changed the world. That said, Apple compares these visionaries' willingness to think differently to that of people who choose Mac, the underdog, over the more popular PC, suggesting that making this switch could be an indicator of a great personality.
Think different — listen to episode 454: Mr. Daisey And The Apple Factory podcast on This American Life. And Google "State of the Apple (Rotten)" by Jeff Ballinger.
Surprising, isn't it, how the company we all thought was going to change the world when we say this commercial, and that '1984' spot, is using Chinese slave labor to make its products.
Apple did change the world, the iPhone has forever changed how we do business and socialise whilst much like Sean Parker, Steve Jobs' iTunes changed music forever
@Rib640 You know...you Apple fanboys really crack me up. My computer is made by Dell, and yes, it was made in China, as are virtually all electronic products. But, last I checked, Dell isn't invoking the images of Dr King, Ghandi, and John Lennon...all peacemakers in their own right whom I'm sure would be appalled at the conditions under which Apple's products are made, to market its products. So maybe YOU should be getting the reality check.
@sujithn49 Albert Einstein, Bob Dylan, MLK Jr, Richard Branson, John Lennon, R. Buckminster Fuller, Thomas Edison, Muhammed Ali, Ted Turner, Maria Callas, Mahatma Gandhi, Amelia Earhart, Alfred Hitchcock, Martha Graham, Jim Henson, Frank Lloyd Wright, Picasso.
This would be a perfect ad campaign for Ron Paul because the media call him a crazy one. I wish they can use it. If Apple endorses Ron Paul, then they can lend the rights. Think Liberty!
It's funny how many people started to hate Steve Jobs after he died. I wonder if you people have any reasons for that. You haven't even read his biography for one thing, how can you judge? You say americans are stupid, but the only stupid people I see here are yourselves.
P. S. I'm russian and I love Steve, he was a great man with his own philosophy, positive and negative sides, and his own achievements, which people like you will never achieve. Good luck on making fun of me.
For our Chinese speaking top talent this is a very inspirational commercial. Thank you Steve! It will be relevant for many generation of business leaders to come.
I don't get it. I am an entrepreneur and admire good branding. I know there approach was indirect here [mentioning the product without mentioning the product], and aimed to make us want to be different by purchasing their items. I know they wanted us to desire company-association with the elite featured on this commercial, again, by buying thier product. My only objection is WHY DIDN"T THEY PUT THEIR LOGO ON IT???? I don't know which company to support.
0:47 is my favorite out of all of those. The reason why is simple, because the way he changed the world was simple. All he needed was two halves of a ping pong ball and a sage sweater. I also believe that if they re-air this, Steve Jobs should definitely be included, since he's among those people now.
Apple (Jobs and Woz) invented the first personal computer and the graphical interface concepts developed at Apple are still at the core of modern interfaces. They took a military/corporate technology and reinvented it for the masses to empower individuals.
You can't say, with any sort of truth, that the personal computer and graphical interfaces haven't profoundly affected humanity.
Oh, but I do. I think humanity remains exactly the same wether or not our computers have graphical interfaces. I loved the old Apple computers, I had an Apple II and a Macintosh. But Apple really took a shit when they started getting socialistic with their shit. It's no wonder nearly all fo the world's top scienctists and teams use Linux and Windows PCs.
@ysflightman I'm not going to get into the whole open vs closed debate. People have their preferences. Those who wish to customize a product to their liking will like Windows better. Those who could care less about customization and just want something that works really well and efficiently will like the Mac better. Nonetheless, Apple's products and ideas changed the world forever wether you like them or not. Also, hasn't the world's top scientists always used PC's?
@michaelzlprime that's false... he really change the world... Is obvious that you don't know anything of him... read his biography and then say whatever you want!!
@michaelzlprime The music industry was bankrupt, phone design was stagnant, windows is a mediocre product that was taking over the world. Then came iTunes, the iPod, the iPhone, and OS X. The music industry was saved, the way we purchase and listen to music has changed, the way we communicate and interact with phones (and tablets) has changed the way we live. The way we connect to technology has changed, and that, to me, has been the greatest invention of the 21st century, yet.

It's a fucking computer... Jesus, this is a pathetic commercial. John Lennon wouldn't give two shits about the difference between a mac and pc. I use a macbook and I like it, but this commercial is just pathetic. Oh well, a lot of commercials are...
@BechTalent This commercial is not about Mac vs PC. That is for fanboys. This is trying to remind people that the company, Apple, has a vision of what a computer (not an Apple, a computer) can be for people, and how people + computers can improve/change the world. And perhaps your anger comes from the criticism that your mind (like most peoples) can't help but impulsively cast on itself when one considers that they, too, might have the ability to make a difference in the world. Maybe?
I am truly inspired bý all of those people. My point is just that the "innovation" in Apples products are absolutely nothing compared to that of the people used in the video. None of these people used a mac, and if they were alive today, using a mac would have NO INFLUENCE WHATSOEVER on their creativity. Because it's just - a - fucking - computer.
wow i just see back in my eye and have a flashback on 1 guy who created a company in a garage and that same guy ended up changeing the world words cannot explain wat steve was even actions cant.
@rikibitta some people just don't get it ... it's not about performance... is about art ... btw I have a Sony laptop PC two times faster than my macbook air but believe the PC just sucks on everything... even writing an email is a pain so wtf are computers ? to make us happy or angry ? ! that's why apple succeeded ... btw don't tell me how fast your super fast PC boots because I already know ...lol
apple is the fascism of informatics. so sad to see King,Mohamed Alì,Callas and so on -among the best minds in humanity- in the same vido with Job's shit. my pc outperform all top-end macIdiot machine costing half money. go fuck yourself mr Steve
Congressman Paul, "...who has no pretensions to eloquence, is a man of more solid judgement and information than any man on the floor." (...to borrow a phrase from Patrick Henry)
mr jobs had a vision that someday, our Earth will be filled with technology for users of all ages and intellingencies. today, his 34 year old vision is not only a reallity, but also a revolution. he has changed the world because it all started with his personal picture of a perfect world. so the next time you pick up any Mac or i technology, remember that all of this was only once a dream... ANYONE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD!!!!

And perhaps your anger comes from the criticism that your mind (like most peoples) can't help but impulsively cast on itself when one considers that they, too, might have the ability to make a difference in the world. Maybe?

@RhythmDroid
I am truly inspired bý all of those people. My point is just that the "innovation" in Apples products are absolutely nothing compared to that of the people used in the video. None of these people used a mac, and if they were alive today, using a mac would have NO INFLUENCE WHATSOEVER on their creativity. Because it's just - a - fucking - computer.

mr jobs had a vision that someday, our Earth will be filled with technology for users of all ages and intellingencies. today, his 34 year old vision is not only a reallity, but also a revolution. he has changed the world because it all started with his personal picture of a perfect world. so the next time you pick up any Mac or i technology, remember that all of this was only once a dream... ANYONE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD!!!!
