  • Seems like this is a revival or pocomania church, most of the 'traditional' churches like Anglican, Catholic definitely do not allow this.

  • @Danaetp fire burn nasty catholic church 666

  • wow that's amazing how your beautiful land of Jamaica celebrates at a funeral at a church. I'm sorry for a young loss but now he's in Jahs arms bein takin care of. May Jah bless him and his family & friends. Jah Bless

  • If you think this is not the "norm" you should see "they danced atop his casket" from New Orleans, the casket is lifted by the pall-bearers in the air accompanied by brass band music, swaying as if the deceased is dancing along, and lowered so the mourners can dance on it. This is an African traditional funeral procession brought back and practiced by Blacks in New Orleans in certain jazz funerals. New Orleans' practice rituals and customs of Africa in their dancing at "secondline" parades.

  • This actually not the norm

  • @jevdawg i agree totally when my great-grandmother died we didnt do this

  • BOB MARLEY went out the same way they was celebrating all on the street. A fitting farewell.

  • wen i die i want peps to be like dis... no crying just dancing and celebration :)

  • this is a revival church ako pucco, perhaps its the only African origin church in Jamaica

  • this is a revival church ako pucco

  • what are they singing

  • What ever pleases the deceased family in the home going celebration relating to their culture is their right exclusively, not for others to criticize, unless maybe you want to pay the funeral cost, and then it's still the familys decision, and not yours, lol

  • Every culture has its way in dealing with Death! some weep others rejoice):

no matter how you celebrate or morne a loved ones passing? the fact of

the matter is that we all must experience dying and Death. For its all a part

of life and life is a gift that no man can give only GOD.

  • If any Jamaican has ever been to New Orleans and observed "our" funerals, especially the parade procession, you see their are similarities between both of ours. 4freespeech got it right, we Black people in New Orleans stay close with African style customs and traditions when it comes to parades and funerals. We don't mourn for long, we celebrate the deceased with dancing and parading in the streets. see our "numerous" videos on N.O. funerals and secondline parades (on any given sunday).

  • @nola305 not everwhere in jamaica tho.some of us have lost our culture and have gotten more westernized

  • I want a funeral like this when its my turn AMAZING

  • Now that's a home going!!!!!!!!!!!

  • funeral from dung a country comeen just like dis...but mi neeva see a casket with a glass top before though

  • @MsStGeorges that is because you didnt grow up in these african communities

  • is yu serious!

  • wow!!! neva witness such ting at all.....

  • this is a spiritual Baptist this is ZIONIST way of sending there dead for there last service amongest the living!

  • this is a true zion church, hear the drummer, the yute tough bad. which church is this?

  • Ever been to a New Orleans funeral?

They even hoist the casket up high and

"rock it" so the deceased can have "one

    more dance" to the music.

    Powerful, sentimental and touching.

Who says sending a loved one off to

    heaven has to be SAD?

  • @4freespeech they sometimes do that it Jamaica a swell, where i grew up they did that, marched for miles with the caskett and danced the longer they walked the better the funeral lol

  • leave the church alone this is my kind of church. we all going to part one day, the words of the song, that's the plain truth something wrong with that? for ur info this is a zion church but call it what u want u don't understand the difference that's why most of us r going hell we judge too much leave god church alone a fucus on the point the person is trying to make . a happy and rejoying funeral.

  • Ok people, most funerals in jamaica are not like this, but thats how we celebrate funerals in central village spanish town especially at bishop pearce church at queens lane. Looking at the video i can tell it's central village, and any thing is possible there. Nothing is wrong with posting funerals, youtube was made for that purpose, posting videos that u might fine different and some what interesting. posting a funeral doesn't mean you are being disrespectful to the dead you are celebrating.

  • what tha hell??? i'm a jamaican and the average funeral is DEFINATELY not like this

  • Mi agree, this look like Pocko funeral. Who ago dance around coffin like dat.

  • this is not a regular jamaican funeral

  • Looks to me like the people are respecting their dead in the cultural way they know to be a beautiful tribute! Very powerful!
