I've been playing the guitar for 17 years, have various electric, acoustic, bass guitars at home and other stringed instruments like a cello and a violin. I have big hands and would define myself as a good finger stretcher and I WASN'T ABLE TO PLAY THOSE CHORDS FOR AN HOUR :))

One tip for that 3rd chord is to have your middle finger be the first to hit the fretboard, which really allows the pinky to stretch to hit that 8th fret.

@citrix99301 do some finger stretches where you basically pull your fingers apart to stretch out the small web between each finger. hold it for 20 seconds for each pair when you wake up in the morning and before you go to bed. i have pretty small fingers for a guy and can do the stretch for this chord

07578X from (low E to high e) i personally like it more especially when you accent either base note(open or root).... this is all for the third chord in the intro haha.

The third chord in the beginning is almost impossible. An easy substitute for people having trouble with it is 079960. It sounds just as good :)

@adamanian or just do what Dave does at the Radio City concert, and don't use the pinky at all. Just mute that string. It sounds just as well, if not even better.

I've been playing guitar for about a year now and pretty much started with DMB songs. I've been able to play 41 for a while now, but never crisp and with good transitions. Your video is helping me out a lot. good job bro.

@mwd5106 bro the best way to get used to the big stretch is. well i know it bothers the ring finger real bad and you cant get a solid tone the first few times but i got it because i would sit there and try it for a little as if my guitar were a cello and eventually it stuck, my only problem is the strumming pattern. ii want to get it like his but it wont come out
