  • I used to think Skyrim jokes were annoying. And then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • I DON'T FREAKING CARE ABOUT SKYRIM! I came here, looking for some good music, expecting the comments to be video-related.

  • Bed, Bath and Beyond!

  • Music to Skyrim to.

  • I get my girlfriend to an alestorm-turisas-arkona concert, it was his first concert and I put her on crowd-surfing myself just before the tune of this song. She don't smoking, but she had have a fuckin' high ^^

  • \m/

  • when I hear this, I hear "TO SCOTlAAAAAND AND BEYOND!!!" cus, ya know, Im scottish =P

  • CONGAAA and beyooond. No wait..

  • Jodidamente EPICO

  • Guys. Shut up.

Skyrim did not invent the Vikings, arrows or knees. And your overused jokes are getting annoying.

  • @WolfhoundMercenary Im dovakiin, and even i am getting annoyed by everyone getting shot in the knee lol

  • @WolfhoundMercenary Hey its a serious problem, maybe if someone knew how to make knee guards we could all be saved from the inevitable arrow to the knee

  • @WolfhoundMercenary Skyrim was the first thing ever to have "vikings" Turisas directly took influence from Skyrim.

  • @Theawsomepwner Wrong. The Vikings were influenced by the ancient space Romans who were conquered by Turkish Greeks who then proceeded to convert to the Judeo-Jehova's witnesses.

  • @WolfhoundMercenary You fucking liar. Everyone knows Vikings were invented by Turisas who then traveled back in time to tell the dark age Swedes how awesome their idea was.

  • @Magicwillnz Nah, that was Bathory. The enemy rival clan of Turisas who instead went to Future Denmark and brought metal to us!

  • @WolfhoundMercenary I used to be overused and annoying.. But then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • its only about skyrim and arrow to the knee these days

  • SHUT UP WITH SKYRIM GOD DAMNIT

  • @luiz127 Wow, someone take an arrow to the knee?

  • This sounds like it belongs in a Viking Broadway show, haha.

  • the kind of music you'd play if you was on the Viking ship with your mates sailing across the north sea drinking mead

  • You know what's funny? Every single song on the similar videos says the same exact thing about Skyrim and an arrow to the knee.

  • fcuk Skyrim! the game itself is good, but I want to vomit when I see "Skyrim, Skyrim" everywhere:/ btw. despite the fact the game is good, it still isn't good enough to be associated with Turisas' songs...

  • @Beliar405 Word!

  • @Beliar405 It's associated with this type of music because skyrim has a nordic theme.

  • @Beliar405 haha that's funny, yes it is...

  • mean while in skyrim....

  • @ren1337 Finnish people... WEREN'T VIKINGS!!!!!!

  • @Soppeh So what? I wouldn't care if it was a guy from Zimbabwe who did this. It still sounds awesome.

  • @Soppeh True. Luckily the Finns were much more badass than vikings could ever be. Fighting vikings on one side and Novgorod on the other :-)

  • @Soppeh then what were they lol?

  • Skyrin rules ( Skyrim säännöt)

  • I used to go To Holmgard and Beyond, and I still do it because there is no arrow that can get into my knee when listening to this song!

  • First song I heard from these guys and I am blown away. Freaking amazing!

  • 55 people were Greek monks.

  • This isnt a good song to listen to while washing up.... I smashed all of my fucking plates :D

  • 55 ppl misclicked on the 'dislike' button

  • @moviemakeronline they thought thumbs down are for Download

  • what the fuck is jennifer lopez doing in the suggestions!?!

  • @thunderwolf2005 Well, generally Vikings after a battle love to have something to drink and something to fuck. You can probably guess why now. :P

  • So, Mr...Thor, was it? Where do you see yourself in 10 years time? ...Sitting on a throne made from the skulls of my dead enemies...

  • @TheDrezden42 Ah, this comment made my night, good sir. Very nice xD

  • I wish I was a viking.

  • SKYRIM and this song!!!

  • @ImMrCharles YES! I LOVE YOU!

  • @ImMrCharles =gay

  • @ImMrCharles SOVNGARD AND BEYOND!

  • @Toporionn lol that is perfect

  • @ImMrCharles MOUNT AND BLADE WARBAND VIKINGR MOD AND THIS SONG!

  • @ImMrCharles Το solitude and beyond! :P (assuming you went with the rebels)

  • Turisas Manchester! YOU WERE FUCKING OSSIM!

  • I saw them perform this live yesterday. It's even more amazing live (if you could believe that's possible!).

  • I think a viking metal singer said this, amon amarth i think:

"I don't play viking metal. The only metals vikings touched were swords and spears and i have never touched one of those"

  • @MeloDeathKT that's infinetely true. Vikings were a congregation of different people, with different culture (even though mainly from the North of europe) what people call viking metal is in fact Scandinavian Folk Metal, even though vikings are an important theme.

  • 2 days till i see these guys live. Fuck to the yeah!!!!

  • I don't like Metal very much (Heavy and Glam Metal are good) but this is epic!

Proud to call myself Finnish! \m/

  • going to see them on the 15 th yeahhhhh and dragging my folky dad along haha :D

  • The best of Viking metal!

  • Going to see them in 8 hours!

  • Epic!

  • this is the kind of song that makes you imagine you are plundering the seven seas and drinking ale from the skulls of your enemies

  • @Jaytothecore You need to look up Alestorm, that is this plundering music. This music makes me want to wield a massive battle axe and lead an army into parts unknown seeking adventure and glory

  • @youbetzler eyy now they where good at heidenfest! best metal band fucking ever.... sorry turisas

  • @SlashIsRockNRoll2010 i'm not saying they aren't good... i fucking love turisas. It's just they're not pirate metal they're viking metal

  • @youbetzler yeah man! turisas are fucking amazin watched their documentary last night they are legends! yeah pirate metal somehow inexplicably beats viking metal

  • @SlashIsRockNRoll2010 might be because of the copious amounts of alcohol involved with piracy

  • @youbetzler ayye! haha i met chris from alestorm and he sat outside the HMV forum drinking vodka with us!

  • @youbetzler don't forget the original pirate metal band running free :)

  • @Jaytothecore sorta that way but it was acctuly the people how attacked vikings in holmgård :D

  • @Jaytothecore

Umm...Sir, I'm sorry. We only offer Coke, Sprite, or Mountain Dew here. We hope you enjoyed our pirate-themed drive-thru kid's meal special, but you didn't wear an eyepatch for the 10% off special. That'll be $4.20 + tax. Please pull forward...

  • @Jaytothecore HAIL \m/

  • this is soo cheezy that it's good

  • gonna see them in two days!!!!

  • From what I have listened to, just about every metal band out of Europe sounds too good to put into words.

    Turisas being one of them.

This song is worthy of praise!

  • Repeat it, please ^_^

  • 55 people didn't make it to Holmgard.

  • Turisas are just fucking epic live!!! \m/

  • if some just did there research a bit better they would know miklagard means "the big city" well to us in the north it would not be city but village since we did`nt have any cities of that size biggest in sweden at the time was birka and was about 1/100 of miklagard

greatings from sweden i salute my finnish brothers with a keg of mead for the great music

  • 55 pessoas vão morrer brutalmente pelas mãos de vikings :)

  • FOR FAME AND FOR GLORY I LISTEN TO THIS SONG

  • THE SAILS WERE UP AGAIN!!!!!

  • exelent!

  • normally im not a metal fan, but this i can handle this, the rest is often too .. 'intense' for lack of a better word.

and i like how someone has used song to document the journey of the varangians to miklagard.

  • they've been so fucking awesome at heidenfest... best band of the evening ;D

but finntroll was disappointing (at least in munich) :(

  • Read Michael Crichton's book "Eater's of the dead" (The Movie "The 13th warrior" is based on this), to get an arabs point of view about Viking life in the East.

The person Ibn Fadlan was an actual real historian who wrote about the Vikings in Russia.

  • The word Varangian means Væringer in Scandinavian. It means people from the North fighting for the Turkish/Byzantines basically as mercenaries. Constantinobel = Istanbul = Miklagard.

  • @NordiskArv miklagard meaning 'big city'

its the name my reenactment group the new varangian guard calls the name of our branch because we reside in sydney australia. so we reside in 'miklagard' the big city.

  • @elgostine

The big city of Constantinoble / Byzans / Istanbul was simply called Miklagard by Northmen because many of the Byzantine emperors were named Michael.

Hello to you Austrailians from Denmark

  • @NordiskArv Where did you get such a stupid idea? Miklagard means "the big city" because indeed Constantinopolis was the one and only real big city those barbarians ever layed their eyes on (from afar).

  • @TAGMATAGMATON

Yes. The name Miklagard means "the big city" according to my history books.

Untill I can prove it means the other thing also by refering to a reliable history book, you're right about the name. Where did you get your information about the name from, by the way?

I recommend you in generel not to use musiclyrics of today as a scientific valid source of history, no matter how great the band is and no matter how true their lyrics are.

  • @NordiskArv Actually, it's the history of my nation tought throughout 12 yrs of basic education. Many people of our cultural elite came from Constantinopolis recently after leaving their homeland for generations, pushed by the turks. Furthermore we heve access to less known texts to others and also a very live tradition. Believe me, what I told before about Miklagard is beyond dispute.

  • @TAGMATAGMATON

Ok, I believe you on this

Which country is your nation? Your name ('Tagma' means 'order' in greek), access to less known texts and way of spelling ’Constantinopolis’ might suggest Greece. If this ain't correct, please tell.

You wrote that your cultural elite RECENTLY had to leave the city.

If they had been there for generations, why were they ‘pushed’ to leave now?

Doesn’t seem beneficial for Turkey as they want to join the EU.

  • @NordiskArv Tagma also means battalion and you are right, it is greek. "Recently" means the last decades. Find any possible sources you can and check out what happened in Constantinopolis at 6-7 September 1955. And the expulsions of the greek minority during 1963 till 1965. Then you will find out the kind of people turks are. Do they have a place in europe? Anyhow I am from Greece and I proudly and respectively salute everyone who uses his mind and his heart to the search for the truth.

  • @TAGMATAGMATON email a guy called peter beatson, google his name.. he knows a ton about byzantine military affairs

  • @TAGMATAGMATON

One can argue both for and against Turkey’s right to a part of modern Europe. They have a history that connects them to Europe but as far as geografically speaking, it’s probably a spilt decision.

But eventhough I know, you rightfully proud Greeks historically must have had some extremely hard times vs. the Turks, this me question:

In respect, please tell us from a 21st Century Greek point of view:

What exactly happened during the Greek/Turkish war in 1920-22?

  • @TAGMATAGMATON

In respect, please tell us from a 21st Century Greek point of view:

What exactly happened during the Greek/Turkish war in 1920-22?

  • @NordiskArv After the liberation of Macedonia and Trace at 1912-13 wars, next objective to fulfill the national vision of the unification of all Greeks populations at both sides of the aegean sea. So, at May 1919, the greek armyarrived to the coasts of asia minor, the ancient Ionia, deliberated the cities and started marching inlands heading to Ankara to elliminate the turkish threat, reaching as far as sakarya river (see a map).Unfortunately a series of plot and betrayals lead to the defeat.

  • @TAGMATAGMATON Seriously how come you hang in the past like that? For not so long ago (around the 1960's i believe) child porn was common and accepted? Does that make the whole world pedophiles? No! Second World War, Hitler leads Germany to holocausts and kills millions jews does that make all German Nazists? No they are fine people just like the rest of us. You can't generalize a country based on what they did hundreds of years ago.

  • @ijhujhu TRUTH and VIRTUE, HONNOR and PRIDE, KNOWLEDGE and JUSTICE, LOVE and RESPECT. These are the values we inherated from our forefathers and still go on living with them. Values that when given to you, you turned them into tools of disaster. And YES,the whole german people were nazis at the time, because there was always an anders breivik hidden inside them and it ONLY took a "madman" to pull him out of them. The Past is a teacher. For us is our history and for others is a criminal record.

  • @TAGMATAGMATON

    you spelled honor wrong ;)

  • @TAGMATAGMATON

"The Past is a teacher", you wrote to another. I agree with you on that.

So, ”at May 1919”, the Greek army wanted to reach as far as Ankara in central Turkey? Sounds more like an invasion than just a deliberation/a unification (”of all Greeks populations”).

And it also could seem like an ambition to confiscate as much land (”both sides of the aegean sea”) as possible when the enemy was weak after WW1 (1914-18).

    Or?

  • @NordiskArv When primary objective is achieved your strategy is to secure perimeter in order to establish your presence to elliminate casualties of counter strikes and to provide you and the population vital ground and natural resources. That was all about "invasion". Genocides commited by turkey (the Armenians, the Pontians, still the Kurds nowdays e.tc.) indicate the nessecity of that expedition at that time.

  • @TAGMATAGMATON

I know it's a hard question. Take your time to answer it. But please do.

  • This a quite a good song.

  • both Turisas and Thurisaz are amazing!

  • *raising my mug of beer*

« I SALUTE YOU PROUD PEOPLE OF FINLAND! »

    from Elsaß!

  • I would not say that Turisas is viking metal, i would say that it is Battle Metal. We do not even know anything about viking's music... But that's that.

  • @Lomablen

Try The Danish National Museum's home page (This page won't allow to write a homesite) and find "Drømte mig en drøm" CD

Check it out if you want some kind of original viking music

  • Was fucking amazing at Heidenfest last night! \m/

  • @MaaaryLovesMetal HELL YES!!!! That is all.

  • @MaaaryLovesMetal Yeeeahhh, I saw them @ Heidenfest too (the Show in Oberhausen, 08.10.), and I was really impressed bei their live-performance. Very epic and funny show, so after the evening I got their last two albums and became a turisas-fan. Before the Heidenfest-Show, i had only listened to one or two songs, so the evening really had en effect on me :)

  • @MrfabioJunior If you're going to be racist at least learn to spell the people you're insulting. Fucking dumbass.

  • @IBiteTheHandThatFed RACIST?? ARE YOU RETARDED??? MUSLIMS ARE NOT A RACE, BUT A RELIGION GROUP LIKE CHRISTIANS

  • @VincentFinn I wasn't going to say "religionist" because I know thats incorrect. English isn't my first language and I didn't know what word would work there.

  • @IBiteTheHandThatFed OH SORRY THEN...

  • Comment removed

  • @IBiteTheHandThatFed aren't Muslims what you call people who follow Islam? Arabs are what you are thinking off my dear boy.

  • @thorgod8 I didn't know what word to use. English is not my first language.

  • @thorgod8 I find the irony of a guy carrying an alias of Donar for his YouTube account making sure to be factionally accurate to be delicious. Since, well, Donar was not exactly known for being the most polite gent about. Although I suppose that'd be a benefit of the Nordic pantheon. If you didn't like what the gods told you, you tell them to screw themselves, and go do your thing anyways. That's not often encouraged in the Abrahamic religions.

  • @MrfabioJunior I don't think vikings and muslims are in any conflict..

  • @MrfabioJunior Narrow minded poor guy.. i think i dont like you..

  • @MrfabioJunior Oh no, 52 peopple are made from cloth? ... wait, what's a peopple?

  • Netta Skog and Hannes Horma have decided to leave the band due to personal and motivational reasons.

TURISAS are delighted to announce that JUKKA-PEKKA MIETTINEN (ex- ARTHEMESIA, ENSIFERUM) will be joining the band on bass for forthcoming shows, and ROBERT ENGSTRAND (ex-KOTIPELTO, THE FLOWER KINGS) will be coming into a completely new role in the band – as keyboard player.
