Her dismount was actually unique back then as well (2008) Hardly any elite gymnasts were doing a double tuck because it was deemed to easy, even though it was rated a D. Everyone was either doing a double pike or a twisting dismount. Nowadays a double tuck is boring because almost everyone is starting to do it again on BB, and especially FX (YAWN).

Back then (2008) this kind of choreography was unique and different. She was so damn amazing and expressive. She drew me into her routines. Now many girls has caught up to this kind of choreo that it's now just all fluffy hand movements. In a way Afanasyeva innovative the posy hand fluffy stuff we see today in artistic gymnastics.

It's a D. Many world class gymnasts dismount with a D (e.g. Nastia does a 2½ twist off). I think she should go for a double pike, though. She could totally pull it off!

Yeah, I know but, a double tuck is so 90's! I think that she could do a great dismount!
