  • I just picked up an a5. It came with a co2 tank. I was wondering if I could just slap a compressed air tank on , or would i have to change any parts to convert to compressed air?

  • thanks the only prob i had was the ratchet broke but oh well lol wasnt tht hard just takes alot of time and using the pause button lol

  • help ME!!! the parts of my triger area all fell out how do i put it back together im worried

  • @living4cod Search yahoo for the A5 manual. They show a perfect diagram.

  • I love these tutorials. im gonna save them on my ipod touch so I can memorize what you did. Thank you so much for these posts.

  • yooo this video is confuesing and im not a genius liike you are so can i ship my same a5 marker to you and can you assemble it for me ? ill pay you 25 $

  • Lol many other people got it no problem..

Anyways, where do you live in Canada? I'll fix it up for you for free, But I'm not going to pay any shipping..

It's not that hard, what part are you having problems with?

  • @SexyGuyabc123 try to open your A5 and remember every parts you take out the way it is b4 removing it i did it once and managed to do it :) hey paintballinguy i have question do you put oil in the power tube? i see some people put grease...

  • @tayson89 Hey man, thanks for the comment. I do lube the power tube. Once the marker is fully assembled, I put 3 - 5 drops of oil in to the ASA, Then fire the marker 20 - 30 times. You can see me do this in this video at 6:39. This thoroughly lubes the power tube.

  • I just wanted to thank you for the great tutorials.

I just received my first Tippmann and as it is with any new marker I get, I am paranoid when it comes to taking it appart.

The only question is have you ever run into a problem where the marker does not cock/fire or leaks and found a solution not mentioned in the comments so far or in your tutorial? The tutorial is awesomely detailed so I would not think so, but you never know :)

    Thanx again!

  • yo can you assemble my a5 marker for me plz i ll give you money ! im dying trying to fix it but i cant soo can you do it for me plzzz ill pay you to do it! lmao plz i just wanna go paintballing again

  • What's the difference between oil, lube and grease? I know what they are but what's their purpose on a marker?

  • Oil it mostly for o-rings, Grease is for moving parts that oil will just fly off of.. Things like, the cyclone ratchet and plunger rod..

They are both lubricants but you use the grease in applications where you need the lube to stick.. As I said the ratchet, cyclone plunger, between the cyclone paddles, trigger pack...

  • do you have to lube it? if you do how often? reply asap i need help! THANKS oh and should i use co2 or hpa tanks?

  • Yes you lube and grease it. watch the videos and you'll see.. At bare minimum you lube it via the ASA. Watch the end of video 4.

HPA is way better, but not required. CO2 works fine.

  • Dude, you are The F#$^ing Man! Awesome walkthrough. Saved my bacon.

  • omg thanks bro. you save me time and money. keep it up man

  • Any time man.

  • THANKS SOOOOO MUCH!!!!! :)

  • Thank you so much! : )

    Gonna use this! ; )

  • i was just wondering how you like the m16 style barrel. i've seen 'em around and wonder how accurate they are?

  • About the same as any mid range barrel, I notice no diffrence between it and my progressive. But it's not as nice as my freak.

  • Hey how do you install the ASA clip and spring?

  • Watch the video, I show it at 2:00

  • i did as you said and my gun won't cock back... can you help?

  • Make sure you follow it %100!

    Backwards front or rear bolt

Remember the trigger assembly has to be on for it to cock.

  • yo thanks your video helped a lot my brother took my a5 apart to clean it and never got time to put it together thanks

  • Banned, learn to not be so much of an asshat..

  • Thank you these videos have helped me alot.

I have a couple of questions so here they are,

    1. What parts need to be regularly lubed/greased and how often should I be doing that?

2.So how often should i be taking apart my a5 and giving it a full cleaning/lube/grease job?

  • 1. A normal lube job only requires that you put 3 - 5 drops of lube into your ASA (Tombstone) or your back bottle adaptor. Basicaly where you put your air/co2 into the marker. Then (with your barrel removed) air up and DRY fire the marker 20 - 30 times into a towel or rag to get the oil all throught the marker. I will make a video shortly.

    2. Every time you break a ball in the marker (not the barrel) or take a good hit in your marker. Basicaly, you don't want old paint sitting in your marker.

  • Thank you very much.

One more question lol, what lube should I use?

Oil or grease, and for which parts of the marker?

I currently have gold cup oil. Is this fine?

I also heard of some kind of white-grease. What is this, how much is it, and where can I get some.

Thank you again, your videos are the reason my a5 isnt fried lol.

  • Any paintball gun oil and grease is ok.

The best is open for debate..

If you watch all 4 of the video's you will see where oil and grease are needed.. Grease is mostly for your cyclone.

    Gold cup is good.

You should be able to get the grease at any paintball store, it's just white lithium grease, you can get it from hardware stores too. It's like $10 - $15.

Lol No problem man, glad I could help.

  • Gettin' my A-5 soon. Definetly watching these videos a few times to help. Thanks man

  • No problem man, thanks for the comment!

If you need any other help or info, just let me know.

  • All of your videos have been thorough and very helpful. After watching them, and cleaning my gun a few times, I now know my a5 inside and out.

  • Right on, Glad I could help.. I know exactly how you feel, I've done my a5 so many times I could do it in my sleep.. Or atleast with my eyes closed..

  • Thanks so much for the tutorials man. I just got another A-5 and I've cleaned them up perfectly except that I can't get my Cyclone feeder to manually feed after I took it apart( when you push the rod in, the sprocket don't turn) could you tell me how to fix this? Just message me directly through my account. Thanks.

  • yeah man, just take your cyclone apart.. It's going to be the ratchet or the rod.. Check them both make sure everything is in it's place..

  • Ok thanks.

  • Two questions 1-That is a custom paintjob you have on your gun right? How hard was it to do and what type of paint did you use.

2- The side mount scope, you like it? Does your mask still get in the way or do you get a clean line of sight through your scope?

  • I use a red dot sight, not a scope. It is fully adjustable so it lines up dead on.. Red dot sights do not require your face be that close to the device..

Yes it's a custom paint job, it was easy, but I've painted manything including my car.. I used Krylon Cammo system..

  • very good tutorial man, just too skeptical to try it since this is my first paintball gun, don't wanna ruin it by taking it apart.

  • Lol, Then you risk breaking your marker, and will suffer from more ball breaks and worse aim.. This is what happens when you don't clean your marker..

Atleast take your marker to a tech to get it fully cleaned every now and then..

Taking your marker apart doesn't ruin it, not cleaning it does.. If you don't think you can do it, find someone who can.. If you follow my videos step by step, you won't have any problems.. It's not hard, trust yourself.

  • yeah i get you, i havent had a ball break in my barrell yet though, but i'll probably watch the video's a few times and take it apart. my question is, I have the stock ASA part, is it easy to just twist and remove from the gun?

  • You don't need to break a ball for your marker to get dirty.. Co2 alone is enuff to dirty your marker..

By stock asa, I assume you're talkng the asa on your trigger frame.. Yes it is real easy to remove.. Unscrew the end that is in your marker (this is actualy another asa.. Then one allen key bolt removes the asa from the bottom of the trigger frame, you could then attach a remote/expansion/regulator/stabalizer

  • im actually using HPA and not CO2, using a crossfire tank with my gun. So I can go to homedepot and just ask for white lithium grease

  • Prolly, if not try an auto supply (canadian tire, autozone, lordco) I get mine from a buddy who gets it from work.

  • by the way what type of grease do i get and where can i get it at?

  • You can use a few diffrent kinds, White lithium grease is the best.. But you can also use dow 33 or dow 55, All brands of paintball grease, T Tech gun sav is prolly the VERY BEST you could ever get..

White lithium and dow can be found at homedepot and canadian tire and places like that... Paintball Brands can be had at paintball stores, and T Tech Gun sav, can be had at T Tech's website and some paintball stores.

  • Dude ! thanks you save me !

  • hey i watched this and i dunno whats wrong with my marker now but for some odd reson i pulled the cocking knob back and it wont cock back. do you know what might be wrong?

  • Well obviously you didn't follow it %100 cause if you did, you wouldn't have aproblem..

Take it apart again (obviously) and put it back together step by step as in my video..

Your problem it prolly The rod in the mainspring it into the bolt insted of the stock/breach.. Or one or both of your bolts are installed backwards.. (always o-ring forward), Then make sure your cocking spring is correct (almost always the problem).

  • I have the same problem as huzza09 the guy with the marker wont cock problem... my guess is its my cocking rod... thats the only thing i can see wrong ive been playing for 7 years and had my problems in the beginning maybe im having bad luck eh? lol

  • Hey, I was wondering about that cool spring activated, fore grip/bi pod you have there, can you tell me where to find one I would love to get one for my a5, oh and is it very heavy? does it add alot of weight to your gun? would like to know where I can pick one of these up. thanks

  • Yeah man, Ebay, they are light, and sturdy, they are made for real guns..

  • Omg I'm such a noob the problem after 3 hours of cluenessness was my powertube LOL it was backwards!!!! HAHA!add that to a possibility of a "the marker not cocking problems"

  • I'm glad you got it figured out.. After a couple times, you'll be a pro..

  • man you didn't make any effort to read my post. Ive been playing for 7 years have had the A-5 for quite awhile now and made a noob error.

  • Ok buddy, your comments are 2 days apart..

I only commented on the last one you sent.. I didn't read back 2 days to see if you might have been the same person that commented 2 days ago..

And I don't care.. If you got offended by me saying "after a couple times you'll be a pro" then there is something wrong with you and you need help..

Also I bet there are MANY people who've been paintballin for longer than you and have yet to take a tippmann a5 apart..

  • after i use my a-5 which i just got is there anything i should put on it to keep paint on it for chipping or pealing like not take the gun apart and lube the internals just something to put on the body of the gun?

  • Actualy you don't want to put anything on your paint.. Just keep it clean and oil free.. Wash with soap and water when you take your marker apart.. or just wipe it off with a rag.. The better job you do of cleaning it the longer it will last.. (I take mine apart every time). Also The marker is painted in 2 parts, so taking it apart won't hurt your paint.

  • hey thanks alot man i didnt really wanna take anything apart cuz this is only my 2nd gun and my first tippmann so not too fimiliar with it. im really disorganized too haha like i lost all the screws to my grip on my old gun lol.

  • Oh, ok :) well if you have a chance, watch my vids a few times.. or as you are doing it.. You will thank yourself for doing it..

Anyways, without taking it apart.. Clean it will with a cloth, use soap and water on Old paintball paint to help loosen it. Make sure you get the little corners this is where it starts... Use q-tips...

  • ok thanks again

  • after taking the tombstone off should you oil, I was taking it off for fun to look at it, nvr used the ngun yet

  • Depends.. If it was well oiled when you took it off and you didn't wipe ALL the oil off, then you would be alright.. If you wiped all the oil off it or it was dry to begin with, you would prolly want a little oil on it..

  • omg dude i can tell you how much i apprieciate your video i was takin apart my a5 to clean it for the first time and i could not figure out a way to put it back together dude thanks soooooo much i was about to throw my a5 across the room lol

  • No Problem man :) Thanks for taking the time to comment, be sure to subscribe and check out my other videos!

  • I bought myself an A5 for xmas and plan to use your vid when I tear it down the first time to polish it.

I really like the foregrip bipod as well. Can you explain what you had to do to mod a rail to the bottom of the marker? I assume you used the same bolt hole as the stock grip? The foregrip mounts to a weaver rail, correct?

  • Yup, for sure man.. All I did was remove the old foregrip.. found a nice low profile bolt (a straight slot taperd head) So that I could actualy get the bolts head flush with the rail... The Bolt is quarter inch, 20 threds per inch... Yes I leave the stock foregrip nut in the marker.

  • Then I just bought a rail from the paintball store, the ones I bought were 2 2" rails.. For an x7 I think... not sure but they were $20.. I drilled a hole through one, in the center, then countersunk the bolts head in the rail. If you don't the grip won't fit..

That's it :) any more Q's let me know..

  • BTW if you polish, Don't use the sanding meathod... You will almost for sure make it worse.. Unless you know what you're doing..

If you do it to much, obviously your markers o-rings will not seal, the bolt will rattle and the marker will be a new peice of junk..

If you do it to little (almost always done this way) you leave dipps and valleys for the air to pre-exaust the bolt... Use steel wool.

  • steel wool will be less abrasive than sanding, or you could use a scotchbright..

Anyways, you just scotchbright or steelwool it untill you get it to shine.. You would have to work for hours to take off to much this way, and you're more about polishing the surface than taking materials off... Polishing never involves sanding...

  • thank you so much for taking the time to do this vid.... very helpfull. ps i like your fore grip, what is it called so i can have a look for one over hear in the uk, thanks again

  • Thanks man.

  • Your Welcome man, thanks for commenting..

Umm I can't remember what it's called.. Let me look, I got it off ebay..

It's called a foregip bipod (makes sense) they are only like $15 plus shipping, But you have to mod a rail onto the bottom of your marker.

  • good vid
