  • oh my i have not been on youtube in forever i didnt realize all the comments, the cake sizes for this one are 8" on the bottom and 6" on the top and we actually fed my entire dept at work which was about 25 people

  • What size are they please ? the cake sizes

  • if u put fondant on a cake u cannot freeze or refrigerate it the fondant will melt so be careful:)

  • Wow I luuuv this cake!!! :)

  • I LOVE the bow! It would be cool to see a video of you making one (hint, hint) :o)

  • I know you mentioned the marshmallow fondant. What I usually do and what my cousin who is a sous chef has said is to make the cake and ice it and put that in the freezer until the icing feels hard, then put the fondant on it and shouldn't need to be frozen. All I ever use is marshmallow fondant, just marshmallows and powdered sugar and I've never had a problem. (:

  • I want that! :P

  • thats great im dying to maske that cake now but how did you make the bow

  • This is honestly so cool :D

  • what kind of cake do you use are you suppose to use pound cake.

  • You did a great job on this cake, especially the bow. I am having to make one for a wedding cake next weekend. Do you have a tutorial on how to make one or could you point me in the right direction? thanks so much

  • hi...i just attempted my first fondant cake. i noticed you said yours was a little sticky from being in the freezer, well mine stayed out all night and it's still sticky and didn't really get hard like i thought it would. Is it because i live in a cold and moist place??? i also used the MM fondant that you said you're not crazy about.. = ) any tips would be helpful.

BTW I really enjoyed looking at this cake. It's very clean, and you can't really even tell where you said you messed up. PRETTY!

  • did u just stack the two cakes or did u use dowles?

  • you know i just stacked them and that was a big big mistake i should have used dowl rodes b/c by the time i got it to work it was sinking on the one side

  • o ok thanks cause its my cousins b-day and i want to make a cake like that in purple and pink...how did you do the animal print?

  • with the animal print i just rolled out my fondant and took a pizza cutter and just cut them out free hand any lines you do on that will come out ok once you put them on your cake it will start to come together....

  • could you do a tutorial or tell me how you make the bow as it is soo pretty! x Get back 2 me soon! x

  • looks really clean, I like it! i agree the bow is wonderful. I don't think that the wilton fondant tastes very good either.. i've heard that satin ice tastes pretty good I'm going to try it. did you just cut the zebra stripes out by hand or di dyou have a template?

  • I am glad you liked the cake....I actually dyed the fondant black myself for the stripes and let me tell you that becomes a pain so if you can buy it black thats what i would do but i just sat here with a pizza cutter and cut them free hand it was actually kinda fun!

  • Hi Tessy, the cake looks fab. The lines stripes looks really really really clean. The bow came out really really nice and I love how you added the sway onto the bow. I salute you to that, I actually had to throw mines when I first tried. Keep up the good work, Tessy. I'm looking forward for the next cake.

  • Thanks Rylan! Your kind words mean so much!!!

  • Thanks so much for watching and thanks for your kind comments and tips!! I need them for sure! thanks again

  • The problem with fondant is when you take it out of the fridge or freezer. It needs to come to room temperatur very slowly to avoid condensation. Sometimes it is good to leave the cake in front of an air conditioner or fan for a while. I dont usually put my cakes in the fridge unless the ingredients require so.

The cake looks very nice and you were lucky that the dark colour didnt dissolved in the white colour.

    Good job! :)

  • please leave lots of comments and tips please!!!
