How does this thing affect your home's power? Does it use so much energy that you'll blow a fuse? My house is older, so I'm a little worried about the wiring holding up. No garage to store a larger snow blower, which is why I'm looking into this particular unit.
bought this winter and so far pretty happy with it. i am in northern Canada so 1 foot of snow per day is normal here so will see how it lasts but very impressed with the results on my huge drive way, side walks and deck.

I had a freaking 4 foot drift in front my garage this morning, now more shoveling for me! Just ordered mine from amazon can't wait to try it out on our crazy Utah snow.
I don't know about this machine. That was only about 3 inches of wet snow and that look at the effort the operator had to put into it. Machine was off it's wheels and he was throwing all his weight behind it.
you know i dont love electric but for some reason Toro makes one bad ass electric moter sutch as my toro electric weed eater its more powerfull than some gass ones ! lol
I bought an 18 year old 1800 model with a new belt on it for $50. Blows snow very well. I also have a 20 inch CCR2000. If I were buying a new unit, I'd recommend the $500 ccr2450 over this $300 electric. It's not that the electric isn't good but the gas unit can do a bit more for not that much money. That being said, I intend on keeping the 1800 and upgrading the gas single stage to a used two stage.
Nice no hassle,no fuss, no gas, no oil, no spark plugs. "Will it start or not"? What you get with gas powered snow thrower. It's also light weight and I was able to lift it and plow a snow drift. It's so small and compact that it takes little space inside my house.

A wire that's always in the way. Something that doesn't throw the snow at all unless its less than 2 inches. A limit to were you can go. Having to buy new cord after they break and the need to go further away. A peice of junk. What does a peice of junk get you?

there is only like 1/2" of snow. where is that texas-just let the snow melt!!! that thing would never handle a MN snowfall.

you know what would be funny, if I bought one of these and had a really bad snow storm and my electric when out....

How deep was the snow? Would it work on a MN driveway?
