I just got done reading "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" actually all 3 books including the "Black Dossier" and I truly see how his work has been so butchered when put to film, but I will give this ONE film a chance only because of who the directer is- what he did with 300 was almost dead on, I will keep an open mind and hope that they will land this film closer to its original than all the others in the past.

the last guy is right. its not going to be a dark knight. but it is something more. I hope this movie is not just for fans. I think more people should be more informed about the watchmen because it is honestly the greatest thing that can be read. It compares to no other comic

I agree this will be another slaughter of another Alan Moore graphic novel even if it is 3 hrs long there must be at least 8 hrs of story in the novel so corners will be cut just leave it alone its a classic they killed V and L.O.E.G i wont be going to see this movie i will sit at home with a glass of wine and re read it in the true form instead i urge you to do the same

its less the fact that they arent accurate replicas, but more the fact that they are getting these graphic novels out there. it's like slumdog millionare. not the greatest movie that could be made about indian poverty, but hey it got people talking and stuck the issue into a mainstream movie. without these movies, maybe people interested in cult graphic novels would read them. but so many more would never even know such an awesome thing existed

Alan Moore, the author, says he will not watch it mainly because a movie is probably one of THE worst ways to show this novel. Moore said that he and Gibbons did things to the novel that could only work in a comic, for example issue 5. And after what the hollywood has done to movies like L.O.E.G and From

Hell (2 really good works by moore destroyed on film) I highly doubt Watchmen will be the movie everyone wants it to be, I actually think it will disgrace the novel.

Just the fact that they included the goddamn Nixon in the movie basically destroys everything watchmen had to say, because in the movie, every problem that america has will be nixon's fault. I mean come on, it's like the future dictatorship they introduced in V for Vendetta intstead of the fascist party.

umm... Nixon's in the comic and has a very small part. I find it difficult to see Zac Snyder make Nixon's role larger when theres so much of the book that should be included instead.

Just one thing I don't understeand. In the movie, there was actually a super hero team called the watchmen? "Watchmen, one of us died tonight", "Watchmen are over" etc. make me think.

Also, there's this scene where someone is taking a picture of The Comedian, Dr. Manhattan, Nite Owl, Silk Spectre, Rorschach and Ozymandias toghether, when they never actually team-up in the comic.

(Captain Metropolis tries to create the crimebusters with the same people, but fails, because the comedian fucks him off, lol)

Maybe they removed the old generation of heroes from the movie? Nah, there Hollis and Sally Jupiter are in there. I don't know what to think, really.

I've been reading a lot of comments and i cant believe people fall for this. They've turned Watchmen into plastic fast-food shit, Hollywood has taken a piece of art, chewed it and spit it out. I can't recall seeing a trailer that was quite THIS freaking good. The last several seconds give me chills, like "leave my body" chills, and it doesn't diminish with subsequent viewings. I'm going to just say this is, in my very clear opinion, the single greatest trailer ever produced, period. I think the other trailers are so much better. This trailer is all over the place. Rorschach's voice is so annoying; it sounds like the faux-growl that Christian Bale did in Batman.

I think the movie is still worth seeing but if I only saw this trailer I probably would wait for the DVD.
