Hey, Exactly. Five times during the day their are 5 prayers and each time before the prayers this is actually a Call to Prayer. Not really a chant, just calling all those who are Muslims that it is time to pray. Reminding them that God is Great, And that praying on time can only benefit you more.

And just to add, that this call to prayer in particular is the call to prayer for the Fagr prayer (before the sun rises) The rest of the 4 call to prayers are the same. But this one adds "As-Salatu khairun min al noum or The prayer is better than the sleep(slumber) " :) asking for those lazy ones to REALLY wake up! haha im jk, but not really! The benefit of waking up for prayers will do much more for us in the hereafter. Salaam wa' alaikum!
