Candiria is def one of the best bands that were out there. I am not sure if they still are together or not but i remember candiria way back when late 90s, they played small clubs and tore it up long time fan and i am glad that they changed up a little bit over the time i would not want to listen to the same cd 5 6 7 times over. it makes it interesting everytime you hear a new disc or new styles out of bands.

I am new to listening to this bands stuff and listening to some of their "old stuff" I would assume.., people are saying that "SONG IS AMAZING" and things of that nature.. but I am sorry that is not music, music to me is when all the instruments play TOGETHER not people playing random instruments and calling it music.. this bands new stuff is what is going to make them money cause #1 you hear what they are playing.. #2 vocals/lyrics go with the music for the most part.

The vocalist is very talented, from what I heard in the earlier album with Signs of Discontent, his vocal rhythms were really complicated compared to this...the drumming is something this guy wrote with his eyes closed compared to the earlier material, purely wasted talent. Its sad for bands to create a fanbase and then break our hearts with new material which sounds nothing like their old. Its like they used us to get where they are now and we've been let down.

chris yea this is from their latest (and probably last original) release called What Doesn't Kill You. It's funny because most old school candiria fans hate the album because of songs like this, but they don't take the time to listen to songs like Blood, 1000 points of light, dead bury the dead, and vacant - throwbacks to the old candiria songs. They got a new guitarist for that album which explains the new style and last time i checked ken the drummer left so theyre done. he was the backbone

bands that change their sound over time arent all sellouts.  just because they arent cookie monstering or chugging every song or playing 240bpm and blast beating doesnt mean theyre sellouts. candiria and mastodon are great examples or bands that are progressing and not allowing themselves to be pigeon-holed in a genre; forcing themselves to cater to meat heads and closed minded fuckwits who dont really care about the music in the first place.

300 Percent Density is one of my favorite albums and I don't know if this is really selling out so much as these guys just getting older, but I'm not crazy about their soft stuff.

That said, I'd still go to a Candiria show and buy a shirt not matter how many mall-rats I had to wade through to get to the merch table because these guys were that good.
