  • OSAMA bin Laden is DEAD AS OF MAY 2nd,2011

  • Burning or cutting holes in the trabecular meshwork?

Does that not completely negate the reason there was a filter there in the first place?!

  • The trabeculectomy and the peripheral iridotomy look like the wost procedures compared to the other ones :((

  • It looks as if I'm going to have to have this procedure done. Has anyone had a good experience with it? Any advice anyone can offer?

  • Oliviaarca, I'm just checking on you. I hope things are better with your eyes now. I've been doing a lot of alternative therapy and have managed to bring down the pressure by myself. But I'm hoping that you're doing better than you were just after surgery. My good thoughts are with you.

  • @oliviaarca Thanks, Oliviaarca! I appreciate the tip. I'm visiting my doctor on Nov 16 & have lined up an appt with another appt with another specialist in January. My concerns mainly involve discomfort with the procedure itself (and then, I don't want to go through what alexlilsnshn is going through).

  • @lifecloud2

Yes, I did in July.. Then 2 days ago I had wound revision surgery. This was because the pressure ended up to be extremely low and I busted a few stitches throwing up 2 months ago. my surgery sucked, i felt pain the hole time, i kept having to get more local anesthetic, my surgery was suppose to be 30 mins but turned out to be 2 hrs. she also had to repair torn tissue in my eye. it totally sucked, i am in so much pain now than when i had the trabeculectomy. good luck :)

  • @alexlilsnshn Wow, this is a horrible experience! I'm so sorry to hear about this. This makes me pretty determined not to have this done. Even my doctor said this type of surgery is "iffy" (his word) in terms of post surgical experience. Thanks for sharing this. I wish you the best.

  • I'm having this done at the end of June.... Kinda scared

  • @alexlilsnshn

have u had the operation done yet?

    if so, was it ok

  • @nano4778

  • Beautiful 3D animation on surgical procedures done to treat glaucoma.

  • It's great to be able to go inside the tiny structures in the eye and see what's happening with the laser during the different procedures. Amazing animation!
