Funny, This song has been recorded by all the great female singers from Ella to Rickie Lee, but for me anyway, it's Bette who sings the meaning of the song without manifesting more of herself than is absolutely necessary and thereby gives us the Wolf/Landesman composition's real effect. Very classy.

Great song. My sister used to work for the Landesmans at the Crystal Palace in Gaslight Square, St. Louis. I got to see them and their milieu, with my own eyes. The title of this song was inspired by the line "April is the cruelest month."

Super video Buster of springtime with all the colorful flowers. I can picture the tulips in your yard. But the Hyacinth is my favorite, witha beautiful fragrence. Going to go today and buy one for Easter.
