The reason data cant be held in jpeg's is because they are lossy and the data is changed to be compressed. To get a better explanation google "jpeg lossy".
Data can be held in jpegs. In linux (maybe Unix in general), the "outguess" program does just this. In fact, I can't get it to store data in anything else, which is annoying.
The 2 pics are different if you zoom in, an have a vrey good look some pixels are different! That's from what I know. And the larger the image the more pixels u can modify without notice so u can put in more info. 5++++ well explained
I use a method I figured, where I have any kind of file, I open it in Hex Workshop, and I edit the actual binary coding. You see, if you don't make the binary resembling RGB standard patterns, it is stored in the image binary itself, but not the picture that it displays. All file types boil down to 1s and 0s and that's where I'm at, not at the GUI 4 levels up.
I'd had a rough idea of Steganography, but this video made that idea a lot less rough. So I've learned something today, thanks. Good thing I decided to subscribe. Why don't you come to Australia and work in I.T. here--I 'm sure you could teach these Ozzies a thing or two hundred. And we have lots of women here; saw tons of them last night while out on the town, most without a male partner.
thanks bro.........

BMPs are a lot larger than JPGs, I'd rather keep it in its native format
