  • wow, that's amazing.

  • WW2 Japanese pilots/troops rarely if ever surrendered usually the committed suicide if not kill in battle.

  • The fate of the pilot is unknown. Judging by the lack of damage he made a controlled landing on the water so it is propable the pilot survied. The wreck is located about 100m from the shore in an area which was at the time occupied by Australian Forces, well within swimming distance. Chances are he was captured and held as a POW or committed suicide.

  • The pilot is probably dead if he wasn't rescued when he ejected, and there is no gunner...its a one man fighter.

    This plane could easily be rebuilt and restored....many years of work though.

  • what ever happened to the pilort and gunner?
