This mixed race thing is insane , how can you mixed with something ( africans ) you already have in your dna . All dna comes from africans , no other race is the originator of anything .

If on the outside if you don't look mixed it doesn't matter. You are what you are on the inside. The outside really doesn't count. If your mixed or one race it's permanent, no one can change that.

@APGifts I respectfully disagree with your point. I believe almost all people are ethnically mixed at this point. The rule that one has to have a certain percentage of mixed heritage in order to be considered mixed, is a human construction. I understand that there may be a social contract that makes it the prevailing truth, with a small "t". But the greater Truth is that someone's heritage, regardless of how many generations back, is still past of his/her genetic make-up, and it can't be erased.

You're right, you don't have to be light skinned to be mixed. Its just that some people promote light skin as being mixed. That is why some biracial kids who are products of black/white are told, by the white parent, there are no light skinned Blacks. NO we are Black Americans and that is how it is. We in the Black community know that you can have mixture and come in different skin tones. It is white people who don't know this because many of them don't live around us or associate with us.

my grandmother and her sisters are half black and half indian and dark like you my grandfather is white my grandfather is dark and 1/4 white and dark and my other grandmother is half black 1/4 indian and 1/4 white and a little darker than obama. plus my mother is dark too I have cousins in many different shades and the ones that are dark like you are like 25 percent white and some indian with black in short there are many dark mixed race people especially with indian

Great video man.......i know exactly what you're feeling ;)..... this is a lesson to ALL, a person doesn't necessarily have to look mixed to be mixed! i have a mixed mom and a Black dad but the funny thing is *I look more mixed race than my mother is who is half and half, she's got very dark brown eyes an i've got greenish grayish eyes :S...... so i guess it's all down to GENES :) bottom line is don't Judge a person based on *their appearance because the story is not the same for everyone. <3

@APGifts I do only go by or say my most obvious ethinicity because I dont mind it but if people ask I tell them although one must be considered 25% or more to be considered "mixed race", there are the genes that are still there and it is kind of a generalization of what someones ethiniity consists of by looking at them. I do agree with you that there has to be a cut-off point.

In order be MGM-Mixed*/Mixed-Race, one's ancestry MUST have BOTH BECOME AND REMAINED (AT LEAST 25%) RACIALLY-ADMIXED THROUGHOUT ALL the family generations.
Just having 1 or 2 ancient-ancestors found "somewhere down-the-line" (ex. a single great-great-grand-whatever who is of some other "race") DOES NOT make a person MGM-Mixed, or else everyone on earth could (falsely) claim to be MGM-Mixed.
MGM-Mixed REQUIRES "Continuity-of-Admixture".

@APGifts I respectfully disagree with your point. I believe almost all people are ethnically mixed at this point. The rule that one has to have a certain percentage of mixed heritage in order to be considered mixed, is a human construction. I understand that there may be a social contract that makes it the prevailing truth, with a small "t". But the greater Truth is that someone's heritage, regardless of how many generations back, is still past of his/her genetic make-up, and it can't be erased.

@PositiveNature Also Brazil is home to the largest population of people of African descent outside of Africa(Nigeria to be exact which has the largest Black African population). There are more Blacks/Afrodescendants in Brazil then there are in the USA. Keep that in mind.
So don't be shocked when you see a Brazilian that looks black, or white, or even Asian.
Brazil also has the largest population of Japanese descendants outside of Japan. Brazil also has a large Italian diasporic population.

You're right, you don't have to be light skinned to be mixed. Its just that some people promote light skin as being mixed. That is why some biracial kids who are products of black/white are told, by the white parent, there are no light skinned Blacks. NO we are Black Americans and that is how it is. We in the Black community know that you can have mixture and come in different skin tones. It is white people who don't know this because many of them don't live around us or associate with us.

I can tell that you are very mixed.Here in Canada people would ask what your background is.The people at the salon are very rude.If someone ever tells me that my hair isn't real many times I'll talk to them very firm and say that it is my hair so don't you dear tell me that this isn't my hair.Yes they are just jealous.I love your curls!

It is sad how people can be so stupid by saying that a mixed person can't be dark lol.I'm multiracial because i'm mixed with 4 races.I'm mostly mixed with my indian backgrounds which is why my skin is brown.People need to remember that there are many races out there that have brown skin and that people who are mixed with white are not always lightskin.
