I love this version of Ave Maria. I used to sing this ages ago in my choir, this is actually the first time I have found this particular version of Ave Maria on the internet, I used to sing this version every wednesday when in choir practice. I have no true liking for the most popular version of Ave Maria, although I have doubts as to whether this is or not the 'advanced' choir.
this sounds like kids...... is this really the advance choir? i say my concert sing better than this.... this need to sound a bit more mature. open up more i say. less on the breathing and more stagger breathing . this is suppose to be a lagotto piece rite?
you guys have serious work to do the baritons are inaudible and you guys need to open your mouths more for a rounder sound! check out taipei american schoo's +opus piece on this maybe you'll learn something!
I agree with the previous poster. No offense to your choir or where you go to school, but I find the choir to be quite inferior to be called an 'advanced' choir. This sounds like a high school group at best. There is no support, in breath or in tone, to even consider this choir advanced. Regardless of the circumstances (only knowing the song a week beforehand), this choir is far from advanced. Listen to the Mansfield University Concert Choir (World Champions at the 2008 World Choir Games)...
Well the video description reads "Advanced Choir at West Valley College" which I took as the advanced choir at that school. My mistake; perhaps the poster of the video should say where the choir is from?
i agree with you. Honestly, my choir in middle school was better than this, at least we were on pitch. And you can learn a song in a matter of hours to perform if you have the musicianship(and it doesnt require much)
I know. Im just talking about how we had two performance in one day (this being our second) and saying that this one was better than our first performance for this song.
Last year, one of the periods did sing this song, but it wasn't the advanced choir. It was one of the beginning ones (sixth period). You can't really compare the two.
(The advanced choir last year was pretty good if I do say so.)

poor pronunciation, poor synch, the sopranos are flat and the tenors are poorly defined. What' so advanced about your choir?
deathgripkorosu 3 years ago
This was our first performance of the year and we only had only learned this song a few weeks beforehand.
And we do harder songs than basic choir and we learn music theory/whatnot.
So just calm down and don't be so critical before you know the facts, plzkthx

...and you'll hear a truly advanced choir. There is no comparison. Sorry to say, but the choir needs a lot of work before it can be called advanced.

This IS a high school choir.
