It's sad to see such a display of hatered between fans. I won't go see this, because of the fan are now divided in two supporters and so called "Haters". Remember a time when all of the fans got along? I do, it was before this movie. I won't go see any thing that splits up fans in such a way, what sad times we are in.

Next the Saiyan part is weird I agree, but they knew changes would be necessary to make it appeal to a wide audience, and they were trying to fit in Goku's revealing of being a Saiyan without having to throw in Raditz. Piccolo's machine again goes with my last point. As does the tail thing. It's not going to be exactly like the manga, but there are many similariites

The only slightly redeeming part to this Dragonball movie seems to be that scene with goku throwing punches at roshi. BUT i am 99.95% sure this movie will be bad, it will be disappointing to everyone and it will have very little in common with the anime. Most people would agree looking at the rating to this video and the like.
Goku should be a kid and have a tail at least! Krillin should be in this movie and the only thing that is remotely familiar in this movie's roshi is the shirt!!

ok i used to be a huge dbz fan and i still check back on the show but dude common trying to make it into a movie thats like making pokemon into a movie using real actors.
pokemon live action could actually be good with the right actors and effects. that was actually my dream when i was little. i used to love pokemon, and i thought it would be so cool to see it in live action. I don't like pokemon anymore, I like db. and this movie looks awesome.

The matrix never used super speed EXCEPT in the first fight with Smith where he gets Neo up against the wall and pounds into his abdomen. And that can hardly be called 'super fast fighting'; you couldn't even see what was happening; the animators just blurred Smith's arms.
Here you can actually see the movement of the arms. It's fast, but not so fast that you can fudge the effects by making the arms blur ala Agent Smith in the first matrix movie.
Actually, there is also super speed when the agents dodge bullets and in the Neo vs Morpheus training fight.
You are right though. This isn't simply blurred movement. It is a lot more advanced and perfect for Dragonball. The technology is better and makes that scene with Smith punching Neo's abdomen look cheap by comparison.
I think that they may have looked to that a little for basic inspiration on how to do fast motion but they obviously didn't just rip it off so I give them credit.
As a True Fan of DBZ I would rather let Hannah Montana win in the weekend box office over this insult to the great piece of work that was dragon Ball. Any True fans would know that having goku cas as an american college kids is going completely against the idea of a wild child raised by master iochi in the jungle wich is what the original story line was. so any adaptation changing that form the start t me is not somthing a true fan would support.
as a "true fan of dbz" you should know that this isn't dbz. it's DB with no Z. Goku was the age of an american college kid when he fought piccolo. (not king piccolo). The movie is called Dragonball EVOLUTION because it is evolved from the anime. so that means that it is DIFFERENT. do you know what evolution means? if you do then the changes are good.
Very true there is no Z into it but it's still dragon ball n the main character is still Goku what u all failed to realised here is that i didnt chritisize the sepcial effect's or even the story line but the unessesary corruption of the chracters for needless reason. Is asian kid not good enough to SAVE THE WORLD!!! Or is that too much ask for hollywood to stay true to a character when brought to the big screen..?
but why would you worry so much about race, when you should worry about the content of the person's character(martin luther king refrence lol), and this movie got the characters pretty good. Goku still loves to fight and eat. Bulma still loves boys and she's smart. Chichi is still pretty cheerful and goku loving. Yamcha is still kinda cocky, and likes bulma. Piccolo is still evil and mega strong. Roshi is still wise and funny.
P.s. i like the white goku and i dont care if hes white or asian.
OK to be fair Goku is an Alien so he could be looking black if they want it wouldnt matter really. However let me give u an opposit senario. TV tokyo producing a Superman movie (who is also an alien) with an all american cast except from Superman who would be asian. Also I havn't seen the movie yet but from the triler alone I havent been ble to work out all those aspect from each characters u mentioned but even there they seem to have forgoten Krilin who was Goku's side kick in Dragon Ball.
i agree with you on the high school thing, but not on krillin. Krillin was a horrible sidekick, all he did was get his ass kicked and killed. (tambourine killed him, freiza killed him, and super 17 killed him). he was weak.
Not to mention that Krillin did not DO anything in PIccolo saga.
Let's recap on what he did in DB manga and anime:
- Got killed.
- Got revived.
- Watched the last fight in sidelines.
Thats all of Krillin in this part of story and I just don't see any reason on why they would want to hire up an actor and kill him off in few minutes in the movie.
Krilin in sequels maybe, but let's face it - No Krilin in DBE is no big deal.
oh yea! how could i forget that. i remember counting five deaths from krillin, but the future trunks one wasn't one of them. maybe there is another time that he died.
OK I that agree Krilin was week n to be fair he got the beat more time than allowed. However no one can deny that he is one of the funniest character in the anime along side master Oshi. He may not be that vital in this movie but if some one is good at taking funny punshes in that series it will be him. beside has it not been for him later on in DBZ goku might have not turn Super sayan.

Any True fans would know that having goku cas as an american college kids is going completely against the idea of a wild child raised by master iochi in the jungle wich is what the original story line was. so any adaptation changing that form the start t me is not somthing a true fan would support.

as a "true fan of dbz" you should know that this isn't dbz. it's DB with no Z. Goku was the age of an american college kid when he fought piccolo. (not king piccolo). The movie is called Dragonball EVOLUTION because it is evolved from the anime. so that means that it is DIFFERENT. do you know what evolution means? if you do then the changes are good.

Very true there is no Z into it but it's still dragon ball n the main character is still Goku what u all failed to realised here is that i didnt chritisize the sepcial effect's or even the story line but the unessesary corruption of the chracters for needless reason. Is asian kid not good enough to SAVE THE WORLD!!! Or is that too much ask for hollywood to stay true to a character when brought to the big screen..?

but why would you worry so much about race, when you should worry about the content of the person's character(martin luther king refrence lol), and this movie got the characters pretty good. Goku still loves to fight and eat. Bulma still loves boys and she's smart. Chichi is still pretty cheerful and goku loving. Yamcha is still kinda cocky, and likes bulma. Piccolo is still evil and mega strong. Roshi is still wise and funny.
P.s. i like the white goku and i dont care if hes white or asian.

OK to be fair Goku is an Alien so he could be looking black if they want it wouldnt matter really. However let me give u an opposit senario. TV tokyo producing a Superman movie (who is also an alien) with an all american cast except from Superman who would be asian. I'm sure that even today 40 yrs after MLK that would be enough for it to make the headlines in CNN n having protest down the street would u not agree?

So you understand that when the table is turned sudenly "Evolution" doesn't seem mush different from "Coruption" I mean let leave the race issue aside. Is there a Real need to make him Educated? Gohan went to school why did they not do one with im in it?
Also I havn't seen the movie yet but from the triler alone I havent been ble to work out all those aspect from each characters u mentioned but even there they seem to have forgoten Krilin who was Goku's side kick in Dragon Ball.

i agree with you on the high school thing, but not on krillin. Krillin was a horrible sidekick, all he did was get his ass kicked and killed. (tambourine killed him, freiza killed him, and super 17 killed him). he was weak.

Not to mention that Krillin did not DO anything in PIccolo saga.
Let's recap on what he did in DB manga and anime:
- Got killed.
- Got revived.
- Watched the last fight in sidelines.
Thats all of Krillin in this part of story and I just don't see any reason on why they would want to hire up an actor and kill him off in few minutes in the movie.
Krilin in sequels maybe, but let's face it - No Krilin in DBE is no big deal.

OK I that agree Krilin was week n to be fair he got the beat more time than allowed. However no one can deny that he is one of the funniest character in the anime along side master Oshi. He may not be that vital in this movie but if some one is good at taking funny punshes in that series it will be him. beside has it not been for him later on in DBZ goku might have not turn Super sayan.

The matrix was inspired on DB/DBZ, the Wachowskis are fans of Dragonball and they mentioned this.
Also the same people (stunt company, special efects, etc) who worked in the Matrix worked for this movie.
