I think they had a great idea for this game, but they didnt think it through enough. The music was great, there was a lot of great stuff in the gameplay, but the controls it self were just clunky and not that great. This game is more annoying than scary, but its a shame because this game could have been great, just too much problems. But still a great game. Especially for a dollar. @DarkMasta95 I got the PS3 Version "Inferno", which is an upgrade, giving you complete camera controll, lots of Bug fixing, new checkpoints and better car physics. There are still flaws, but it's fresher than Resident Evil5 and Dead Space. You can't run and gun, you have to get creative to get rid of the demonic abominations. And the final half includes a very cool Tomb Raider section with platforming and puzzlesolving. On the other Hand, there is no final Boss. Give it a try for 10 bucks.

But then again I played the "inferno" version of the game which I understand had a lot less bugs, the inventory was fixed (you could select the items in any order and you could also add shortcuts) and it had better control. @DrakenBadguy I completely agree. The game was glitchy no question there but when you got past the glitches (which are no worse than say Prince of Persia or Grand Theft Auto) the game was fantastic. The fact that it blended so many styles of gameplay and found new intuitive ways to work inventory and combat was fantastic. It's a strong survival/horror with a simple good vs. evil plot. And as you said it was loads better than RE5. Fucking Chris with his boulder punching.

@CRILLER3 what does being alone have to do with survival horror? your alone in Max Payne, is that survival horror? nope. survival horror is about limited supplies, puzzles, and DE-EMPHASIZED action. while RE4 does have puzzles, you have way to much supplies and action is to much of a priority.

@AlphaBetaSquad You can't say a game is trash because every company says that, there could be a game that critics hate you will like, I also don't trust IGN or Gamespot, they usually kiss any mainstream game's ass, the XBOX 360 version is playable but it's buggy, there is even a PS3 version of Alone in the Dark that fixes the problems the other versions had, most of these companies reviewed a pirated copy of this game, you can't just take someone's opinion and go with it if you don't know much.

@DrakenBadguy i find your comment very helpfull i picked it up today it was definetley diffrent is slow paced and makes you paranoid not wht im used too but thats not a bad thing i havent realy fought a enemy yet but so far i am enjoying it as for re5 i say yes capcom sold out its not what it used to be but if you take it out of comparosion to the older re games it actualy fairs well i enjoyed it alot not as much as re4 and 2 but was still satisfying

@DrakenBadguy I completely agree. The game was glitchy no question there but when you got past the glitches (which are no worse than say Prince of Persia or Grand Theft Auto) the game was fantastic. The fact that it blended so many styles of gameplay and found new intuitive ways to work inventory and combat was fantastic. It's a strong survival/horror with a simple good vs. evil plot. And as you said it was loads better than RE5. Fucking Chris with his boulder punching.

@CRILLER3 what does being alone have to do with survival horror? your alone in Max Payne, is that survival horror? nope. survival horror is about limited supplies, puzzles, and DE-EMPHASIZED action. while RE4 does have puzzles, you have way to much supplies and action is to much of a priority.

I must have unique taste or something because I thought this game was brilliant even though I'm not an Alone in The Dark fan and I only bought it 'cause it was dirt cheap and I didn't have high expectations. I don't know, maybe that's why I liked it so much, because My expectations were low. That, and I played it all in first person which added atmosphere. But fuck it, I think (fuck that, I KNOW) this game is too harshly judged. What about games like Tom Clancy's Endwar. Now that's a shit game.

@AlphaBetaSquad You can't say a game is trash because every company says that, there could be a game that critics hate you will like, I also don't trust IGN or Gamespot, they usually kiss any mainstream game's ass, the XBOX 360 version is playable but it's buggy, there is even a PS3 version of Alone in the Dark that fixes the problems the other versions had, most of these companies reviewed a pirated copy of this game, you can't just take someone's opinion and go with it if you don't know much.

@majema007 Well there is a difference between games that everyone knows is bad and overrated games like halo and cod. I don't just listen to one company i go to several different ones to get a good grasp of the game. If one company says its good and another says its bad i would still pick it up but if all gaming company's says it is bad then there is no point to get it.
