  • Good video! I just finished walking 22 acres of winter wheat to see if its worth keeping or switch it to corn. What is the growth regulator you are using called?

  • Thanks - gez i heard things were bad ur neck of the woods - what has caused you to rethink on the 22 acres? Its called Holdup - (ccc or chloremquat?) Put it on at half rate early to make it tiller then put the rest on with the T1 spray. With winter barley it goes on full rate with the first fungicide. Will soon be adding it at half rate (1.2l/ha) to spring barley to make it tiller.

  • The snow all disappeared in early march and we still got quite a bit of cold weather after that, it just killed it off. Thanks for the info, over here cerals are not managed nearly as intensively as you do but there is growing interest in doing so. How many pounds of urea would you put on in the growing season and how many applications would you use? Thanks again, hope all is going well over there. We're just getting on the land today.

  • Wheat would get about 620Kg/ha of 27N plus PK as required - determined from yearly soil samples. That would go on in two to 3 splits depending on growth stages. 1st app is 185.25Kg/hs (1.5cwt/acre) tillering

    2nd - 247 Kg/ha (2cwt/acre) - just before first node

    3rd - 123.5 Kg/ha (1cwt/acre) Flag leaf.

Four spray applications, namely To, T1, T2 T3, "nd application of fert went on last week, T1 due to go on this week, or as close to the 1st May as possible. Hope the work is going well for you.

  • sorry 2nd appl of fert is 2.5cwt/ acre or 308Kg/ha

  • Good video & a good looking outfit too.

Think combining at 1.5 km/h is painful..... If you were pulling 5 ton per acre off it sure you wouldn't want to quit at night...;)

  • aw cheers! Last year that field looked mint - it even wom a wee prize. Got the first 18acres or so cut and recon it was doing close to it at 18%, Then the heavens opened - recon the whole field averaged 4t dried. Took exactly 4 weeks to cut that field with the bad weather - compared to 3 good days! gutted

  • Great video, reminds me of my spraying video

  • Never say your videos before till now - recon urs kicks my ass tho!! Is that 6320 running a trimble guidance system?

  • sounds you enjoyed it, yes its running of a new holland system, you must of seen it through the window

  • noticed the antenna on the roof. good videos lad.

  • Get a ford 7000 with dual power - Grip comes as standard with a ford - mf doesnt even provide it in the options list!! lol

Yea the mudguard looks well!! hahahha

  • Hey now.Maybe you do get grip on a ford 7000 BUT what about only having power from 1700RPM to roughly 2300RPM : )

Although being able to do 40K would be handy....

  • power between 1700 and 2300 is in the sweet spot - just perfect for PTO jobs, and the aul 7000 has it and grip - as for the mf, they lack a tad bit of torque below that range. Got mf on the farm at the min, The 390T unless flat out would stall on a mole hill. More power in a wet fart. 135 on the other hand would kick a dexta's arse for grip!!

  • 390T`s were only good with 30km/h boxes(Possibly worth more than your 6400?).We had a 3000 for scraping out for a while and i ventured into a field with it in a dry june day and raced a 2wd 390.Hammered it haha.Them ould dextas were made for driving on concrete; ) Dad used a 135 for buckraking when he was 15 and it shamed a ford 5000 when climing the pit apparently......

  • eh rite - I would love to see that - a 135 out climb a 5000, could be a first time for everything? lol. 3000 v a 390 aint realy a fair comparison but wouldnt be surprised by the result. 390 hav better engines than the 390t. 390t is just a 375 engine with a turbo.

  • Think combining at 1.5 km/h is painful.....Try driving a MF188 with a single chop 36" cutting width tarrup (In first gear low range)and needing another tractor to pull you through the sh1t.(My father keeps telling me how lucky I am : ) )

Nice vid and that 6400 looks pristine(well the right mudguard does; ) )

  • haha whatever do you mean?

  • You are putting it up to maxxum 1184!!!

  • Cant match his work - he is giving moover a run for his money now!!

  • Don't you believe it lol.

  • I think you have it.You have a lot more vids and there not all one deminsional. All you need to do now is Include the purr of the deere on a cold start; )

  • The PURR of the deere on a cold start??............sounds more like lose change rattling round a washing machine......you don't know if you should stay in the cab or run for cover!!! ( I shall now go & hide for a week or so ).lol

  • Well at least it doesnt sound like the rattle of a stanley knife and 2 phones in the washing machine......Seriously though you should leave the camera around a corner and then drive past it full bore....it would wake you up and im sure someone has had a heart attack from the noise : )

  • eh run while you can.... lol
