  • NEW video up! Hot run, two years into the exhaust system...

  • Man, that sounds like ass soup!

  • Sounds a little ricer but I miss my 4 banger, had a flowmaster on it... memories

  • what is the exact name of the exhaust system that you got i have a 2001 s10 4 cylinder that im thinking about putting some different exhaust on. also what else did you need other than the exhaust? thanks

  • sounds great man, i just ordered one for my 96 s-10 2.2L How was the installation? Did you have to go out and buy anything extra or was it all in the package?

  • @memichaelenglish The installation was pretty easy. The only thing that got in the way was the rivet like bolts (on my 2000 model) that attached the catalytic converter to the rear half of the exhaust. Torched them right out easy enough. Can't remember if the kit came with the bolts or if I just used some from in the garage. If they're not in the kit they're easy to find and cheap. The only thing I wish I had done was buy it in Stainless Steel. Anodized holds up ok though after one last winter.

  • i thought all xtreme's came with the 4.3 v6? i guess im mistaken then

  • @951prerunner Yea they made some with the inline 4 but not a lot of people have one or show it off. Wish I had the 4.3L but I'll take the extra gas mileage in exchange for being quite underpowered.

  • @GMXtreme88 Just looked it up and i would have thought the mpg would be better then what i thought, says the 4bangers got around 19city /25hwy and the 4.3's got around 17city / 22hwy, and this was for the s10 ext cab with 5speeds. to me it doesnt seem like your getting much from the sacrifice, but i guess those extra miles do add up in the long run and save u xtra @ the pump, believe i know about high prices being that i live in southern cali.....still love the V6 :-P

  • @951prerunner Yea when you put the numbers side by side I guess I got the real short end of the stick, depending on how money goes I'll probably just drop a V8 into it years down the road to make up for my lame "sacrifice". Can only imagine what the gas prices are down there in comparison to WI... I remember the days it only took about $20 for a full tank in my dad's GMC1500. Back when over $2 a gallon was high!

  • @GMXtreme88 i remember when i was 16 and i could drive for a month on 20 bucks of gas. and i'm only 26 now!! gas prices are ridiculous! I bet with the right v8 you could actually gain fuel economy, since the extra horsepower would be more than enough to yank these tiny trucks around. i love my 4.3 in my xtreme, but i hate buying gas haha. mpg is even worse in my 4.0 jeep wrangler!!!

  • If your going to go with headers go with Kamikaze, OBX are crap I'm switching back to stock.

  • Hey I was wondering if you could post of video of what the exhaust sounds like all the way up to 5000 rpms.

  • I'm so glad you posted this. I've been looking into getting a Gibson forever now. Is there a possibility that you could do another video after the truck has been warmed up, or maybe doing a drive by?

  • @TheGnartographer Yes, I can make a video of it all warmed up, possibly even a drive by (weather permitting- currently a rainy week). Will work on getting one up soon.

  • Ahhh finally a sound clip/video of a gibson exhaust put on a 2.2 I've been waiting for this for a long time. It sounds awesome!! So I take that you ordered the swept side that said it was for the z85 suspension. I want to lower my truck to extreme status and I wasn't sure this exhaust would fit if I did. Again awesome exhaust I can't wait to hear what it would sound like with my OBX headers and Magnaflow high flow cat.

  • @ChevroletRacing4Life I could never find this kit on a 2.2L either. But now I own one :) Glad that you like it. I ordered my kit off Summit Racing it was the GIB 14429 part number. Fit like a glove. I wanted to get new headers, cat, under-drive pulley kit, and some other random mods. Just did a tune-up as well. It will be a work in progress with the rest, since I will never get rid of this truck. Should sound great with a high-flow cat! Good luck with your truck, thanks again!

  • @GMXtreme88 Allrite Awesome! OBX headers are good quality but a bit of a pain in the ass to install it just kinda depends, I think mines bein that way cause the high flow cat sits too high but from what I've test drove it's got an amazing more amount of power and sound(with stock exhaust) even with a pretty big exhaust leak. I'm gana be making quite a bit of money over the summer and I'm going to get the gibson, cold air intake, and lower it.

  • I like the sound......

  • Sounds nice man! how you like the intake?

  • @maxamillion1011 I love my intake, noticed a definite increase to my throttle response. Acceleration was better off the go, and getting up to highway speed was less agonizing.. With the exhaust I have better low end power, mostly noticeable from zero to about 40mph. I'm real happy with the way it turned out, there's more I'd like to do to it, but it's so far been expensive enough for me right now.. I'm not sure if its my recent tune up or these upgrades, but I have had better MPG lately too.

  • @GMXtreme88 yo dude i really like the exhaust tips... whats the name of them and where did u get them at?? i need some.. badly..
