dun dun dunnnnnnnn. lol. I think that the governments gave up on the people some time ago. They only see all of us as one thing. One HUGE money making machine.
After 30 years of all the damned hogs the Gipper brought to DC on his tailcoat and voila what do you have ?
One giant stagnant stinking filthy cesspool of corruption , special interest , well heeled thieves who will pull the plug on grandma in a NY minute if it'll grow their bottom line ! Reagan offered vent to the righteous self -important
indignation that wealth and priviledge have always offered up clothed in mom , apple pie , etc,, ad nauseum .
@doorki42 No. The Regan administration armed and funded what is now known as the Northern Alliance, who later solicited and received some additional support from India. Pakistan did not like this as they consider India a mortal enemy. The (then) Karachi government's response was the Taliban. -see- Shah Massoud. He was a strong opposition leader against the Taliban and university educated ally of the West against the USSR.
a leader is judged by the results of his leadership and right now today you are seeing the results of the directions that ronald reagan took this country in
@bigbaray Ya'll thought you saw his "bad ones" before he even took office. It was like you didn't know the difference between election day and inauguration day. The birth cirtificate thing started right after he was elected too, because ya'll couldn't believe he's your president. Which begs the question: what's sooo different about this president?...it must be something that no other president has been...I know there's something there. I just can't put my pale little finger on it. Oh well.
I'm not real sure where this argument came from, I was talking about the 5 trillion dollars you claimed Reagan added. Which is clearly a lie. It was 1.7 trillion. Which is roughly a third of what you claimed it was. Isn't that the same lie as saying Obama added 12-14 trillion?
I could care less about his birth certificate my problems are with his policies and ideology, as well as idiots who don't understand supply-side economics and it's effect on an economy.
@bigbaray Sure. We can throw out all kinds of figures; some will cite an inflation-adjusted figure, others won't. But, why the hell are we talking supply-side, market-oriented economics right after a recession that wiped out people's savings and home values to the point that no one is demanding anything? Why the hell are you guys fighting against government regulation right after the most destructive example of financial sector corruption in history? Who's the real puppet here?
you lied about the number. Because if you understood supply-side eco you'd understand how it will bring us out of this depression by creating jobs. But like most liberals, you fear the rich getting richer because this class warfare your dumb enough to believe. Well guess what, for every job created the rich are gonna get richer, that's just the way it works. For each job created there is a small percent that goes to the business owner.
@bigbaray "Regulation cause the current financial mess". that is a bold faced lie. Deregulation did and if you need me to i can point to the examples, the biggest being the Ghram leech biliy act and a host of others. and they proved supply side doesnt work. it has been unbiased proven. remember how they called voodoo economics
Ghram Leech didn't help anything you are correct. But step back further to "Community Reinvestment" and several others like that where banks were being forced, by regulation. to make loans they normally would have never made. Their entire point was to get people homes that couldn't afford them. (not exactly, but that's what happened)
@bigbaray oh sorry wrong that really had littel to do with it. becues even though that was passed, most of the people it was passed for couldnt afford the loan program to begin with.and if you want to blame that act then blame banks. because they enocuraged brokers and LOs to sell the "Shitty" loans. and the BofA intentionaly sought theese people out because they new they would default, they were making money had over selling the bad loans as good in the secondary market.
@bigbaray he are the big 2 Alternative Mortgage Transaction Parity Act (AMTPA), in 1982, banks could only offer one type of mortgage: a fixed rate, fixed term, fully amortizing mortgage. AMTPA lifted that restriction, opening the door to a host of alternative mortgage types
The Depository Institutions Deregulation and Monetary Control Act of 1980 eliminated state usury laws that limited the interest rates banks could charge. This gave banks an incentive to lend to people who couldnt afford it.
Ok. So again, its some failed policy where as the government has it's fat fingers where they shouldn't be. I'm not as willing as you to believe the policies of 1980 and 82 are to blame here. But it's ironic that we are on a thread of a guy's video that says "Government is the problem". You can dip and dodge all you want trying to land these problems on whichever president you choose. But take the point of what the speaker says.
@bigbaray no i really think you need to look at what those legislations did, the first one created sub prime loans. dip and dodge is what you are doing you didnt even bother to look at the laws. i know ronnie is your hero but he was a a terrible economic president, actually he rivals Barack in a lot of places. and the blame falls on regan, clinton, bush jr. i do agree with smaller govt, but you need regulations i work in the industry, and without them things would be 1000 times worse.
Are you asking me to defend what happens on Wall Street? I don't really care one bit about what happens to the fat cats on Wall Street. But if you are going to sit there and swallow the lie that the problems on Wall Street are so big they are causing the problems we face right now in America I must ask you to re-evaluate. Think outside the talking points. No-Bailouts for anyone. Let them meet the up and downs of Capitalism like the free market intended.
@bigbaray Dude. You're not really trying to talk about the issues, are you? You're just calling a random stranger a liar because you haven't had a shred of dignity in the last 15 years, have you? I'm not going to teach a belligerent youtuber about present and future value. I get paid to do that, so no freebies. Anyhoo, Reagan set us up, and you know it. You folks can continue to fuck our country, or you can admit you're wrong. I'm guessing you'll go for the former because you're a real winner.
LOL, so you are an educator. That explains a lot. A true coward hiding behind tenure. You should stop educating now and maybe go flip burgers. Reagan was not wrong and I am not wrong lets just let the future decide that. Now hopefully in 2012 we can restore a little bit of decency to our political system and admit that this liberal experiment is a complete and utter failure. "No freebies"? thank god.
@bigbaray I am an educator. I don't get paid much, and we're getting laid off left and right, but it feels great to be little part of what's holding up a crumbling social infrastructure right as society needs it so much. It case you haven't noticed, our society isn't doing okay. I don't know how many adult students I've had who’ve relied on universities to supplement the care they should be receiving in America. p.s. No need to wait for the future; the present has already decided you are wrong.
@hieronomy I'm not even real sure what your first sentence says. But I think my response is that because I have enough drive and self responsibility I don't stick my ass at a min wage job, or have to ride a bus. Take accountability for yourself, as scary as that might seem.
Tell you what. Like I have said before, your kind can mooch and share off each other as much as you want, take your president. My kind, we will do our thing and take our president.
No , I'll tell you what , you give too much weight to the idea that ppl are poor because they are supposedly lazy ,feckless , unaccountable , irresponsible . You apparently have an inability to put yourself in the shoes of others.its easier to write them off as defective , less deserving . I've found it to be true in my experience , that when you put the shoe on the other foot or walk in anothers shoes , you gain in humility as opposed to pride and thats always a good thing.
No you have that wrong too, I don't look down on them at all. I simply say that they are the best people that can change their situation. If you haven't noticed the government plans always fail. I empower these people to move forward. I already have humility that's why I don't lie to them and tell them that the government is the answer. In fact in most cases "government is the problem".
You already are out of your argument cause you are convinced that I am wealthy.?
Congress was completely controlled by democrats when Reagan was President. He did one hell of a job stopping them from growing government. Sadly, Bush lost Congress in 2006, and even more radical left wingers than in Reagan's day took over and now we owe more debt than can ever be repaid.
We are simply slaves to the government.
Never elect a democrat or a liberal Republican. Only Conservatives understand First Principles and how economies work.
@garyp4205 clearly you are a conservative.. which makes perfect sense, because what you said was incredibly close minded.
if you seriously think bush was a good president, your fucking retarded.
dont let the "conservatives" fool you.. we know who the true patriots are. your crappy conservative "tea partiers" have started stealing ron pauls ideas to try and gain widespread acceptance... it wont fool me.
@MarioSMB3 "Great job pissing on Reagan's wife you anti American asshole."
Who the hell are you to call me that? Michael Reagan is also against embryonic stem cell research, dunbass. As a Catholic pro-lifer, I can't support it in good conscience. Plus it's a hoax. There have been ZERO cures or even hopes of cures from it. Adult stem-cell research, which I support, has yielded progress on 75-80 cures. That's why venture-capitalists invest in adult, not embryonic.
Government by an elite group, or government for, by ,and of the people?
The republican party no longer has anything to do with this guy. It is government for whoever will give money to the party: generally the corporations and the billionares. I don't recall Reagan talking about killing unions and education.
@Spanky00Cheeks I am sorry but you are a little misguided. Ronald Reagan destroyed unions, he reversed civil rights decisions, and he almost bankrupted this country twice. He was not fiscally conservative as most people would have you believe and this is how Bill Clinton got into office. I suggest you go back and look at the 1980s to see exactly what Reagan did do.
@SpigaloProductions Its a world economy now.If everyone gets more money, how can we compete with cheaper labor forces over seas. They are going to bring down our standard of living and raise other countries standard.Very few manipulate billions
The last part was originally said and credited to Thomas Jefferson.
"Thomas Jefferson Quotes
Sometimes it is said that man cannot be trusted with the government of himself. Can he, then be trusted with the government of others? Or have we found angels in the form of kings to govern him? Let history answer this question."
this is commen knowledge to real people. and it doesnt make any sense to zombie liberals. such pieces of shit they need govt to free them from their problems. they kno as a person they suck to much dick to get anything done for themselves. liberals are the end. america is on the edge of another civil war because of libtards.
It sounds like President Reagan is talking about Obama, Reid & Pelosi. He sums it all up in 30 seconds. Too bad he can't come back and straighten out this mess that the sociolists have created with their wasteful spending and weakening our of country's military. Obama has done more to divide this country than any other president in history. He'll bow down in front of Muslim leaders but won't even place his hand over his heart for the Pledge of Allegance. What a disgrace!
Amen Reagan! Gov't will always be the problem. Hey Reid, Karl Barack Obama Marx & Pelosi - learned anything yet?? Well if not you certainly will come this Nov.
Why does everyone seem to think liberals want governments to control us?? I'm a "liberal" in blood, but I HATE governments. I believe in a better world, and I don't think governments are the answer to that. In fact, they are the problem why humanity is evolving so slowly at the moment. So stop associating the word "liberal" with "communist" and "socialist". Though I like socialism by definition, people have started associating it with elite ruling over us, which is not "real socialism".
@nielss4 The problem with socialism is when it falls.. all the people go with it. It forces you to put all your eggs in one basket so to speak and makes you trust it with your eggs.
Video created by: a Matrix-loving NERD who wants to BLOW Raygone! LOL!!
Ereagan: The man who sold missiles to Iran illegally and laid wresths at the graves of SS soldiers at bitburg and called the Nazi assassins "heroes" in a speech after. Ronald Reagan was a fucking disgrace.
@Palin123Sucks I honestly have never seen such a disrespectful comment about a United States President. I don't agree with any of the policies of the Obama administration, but I have never and will never call President Obama a "fucking disgrace."
Reagan: “A few months ago, I told the American people I did not trade arms for hostages. My heart and my best intentions still tell me that’s true. But the facts and the evidence tell me it is not.” LOL!!
But he was being inaugerated into the problem and if you look through history his 8 years caused the deficites and debt to grow exceedingly,he signed the spending bills,it isnt only the dem congress that was part of the problem. He was.
@MrTabby5000 WHAT?!? Don' skip over the Carter years, one that closely resembles our current administration. Reagan put America back on track, cutting red tape and allowing more opportunity than we have seen since the union's infancy. He restored our sense of national pride and made us the strongest and richest country in the world.
Anyone that says Reagan is responsible for our current woes is a liar or an idiot. perhaps both. We need to go back and build from those policies not run from them
@MrTabby5000 Reagan was the greatest president of modern history. He's the only one that is on par with the our founding fathers like Washington and Jefferson. The one thing these great men had in common was that they were citizens first, not professional politicians. They served America not lorded over its people. This is why we fought the British. Life is precious, but not so much that we will live on our knees bound in chains. Freedom, Liberty... The brave were not fools, it's why they fought
@MrTabby5000 That line of speech is from Reagan's first Inaugural address. He was being sworn into the presidency on that day. Also, that line was part of a much broader speech that basically said BIG government is not the solution to our nation's problems. Responsibility and self-accountability along with good common sense is all we need to govern our selves.
I suggest you watch Reagan's whole speech here on YouTube so you will understand what Reagan was about and why Americans want self-rule
As for self rule,bp self ruled themselves, look what happened.Sorry but the american people needs laws that rule over them.We cant have corporate or individual anarchy.
@MrTabby5000 BP is off topic but to be fair, BP was forced to drill at such risky depths due to Gov't regulations. Had they been allowed to drill in shallower water a blowout would be far less likely and easier to stop if it were to happen. Not defending them, but let's get real. No one is suggesting Anarchy. To suggest that the American people need to be "ruled over" is not American at all.
Gov't is a tool for the people and states, not a ruling tyrant. This is why we are free.
@MrTabby5000 "We are a nation that has a Gov't, not the other way around; and this makes us special among the nations of the Earth. Our Gov't has no power except that granted it by the people... Now so there will be no misunderstanding, it's not my intention to do away with Gov't, it is rather to make it work. Work with us, not over us. To stand by our side, not ride on our back. Gov't can and must provide opportunity, not smother it. Foster productivity, not stifle it." - Ronald Reagan
Not according to reagan he said government is the problem(like he believes that government is not the people)If government was the problem than he just said the american people was the problem. He did say that, but the american people were too stupid to figure out what he actually meant.Yes the problem with the american people was they were way too stupid.Carter may have been bad,but now its worst, than the carter administration ever was.
And obama is no magician to instantly repair the damage,it could take a generation to repair the damage that reaganomics done to our country with those insane trade policies of outsourcing to the communists, yes ronbie some defeat of communism, huh?
@MrTabby5000 Obama spent a brief time as a state senator and even less time as an absent US senator. he has no clue how to govern and it is apparent by his complete absence in all things important. Face it, the man is our of his league. no kidding he's not a magician, but we do not need a magician we need a leader with the balls to let America work and get out of the way.
Blaming Reagan has no basis in reality. It's liberals fiddling with the economy and free market that tripped us up.
@MrTabby5000 Now you mention Carter. Dude, you obviously are just trolling as i can not believe anyone can be as completely clueless as you are. Study American history and actually watch Reagan's whole speech from where this video's line came from.
As for Reagan blaming the American people, nothing can be further from the truth. However, Carter actually DID blame the American people for the Nation's problems during his presidency during a famous speech. He was perhaps the worst prez ever.
@TheYankeeKen that's the problem with your regressives. you see the world in blacks and whites. how about something in between your two false choices?
The problem with conservatives is that they miss the beginning of the statement. "In this present crisis". More government is not always a problem, and in many cases the solution.
@DrProfessorPhD : Very true - things like education & health should be funded (though not provided) by the state.
I'd say, though, that excess government & featherbedding is often a problem people don't want to recognise as the solutions are more painful than the problem...

I find it hilarious that people are whining about government while using the government-developed Internet. If you truly believe government is the problem rather than the solution, you should immediately sign off of YouTube because clearly the Internet is a problem, not a solution. Government-developed, dudes!
The technology that created the internet was only possible because of the inventions of the free market. Besides that, the explosive growth of the internet only came when the government (defense department) took its hands off it and left it to private enterprise. Even when it was being developed, it was still spearheaded by private companies. In any event this is all irrelevant because govt. can get funds for these types of things that private companies often cannot anyways. This is a non-issue.
Reagan was the problem, conservatives are corporatists. Government for the corporations and not the people. It is obvious and the damage Reagan and republicans bring is all around us. They do count on the navet'e of the white staus quo, the good old boys. They want their country back, lol, its the first time in a long while where the south isn't controling the country and Bubba doesn't like it. Natually they love Reagan.
@chucknchar What's obvious is your complete misunderstanding of Conservatism and Corporatism and how they are completely unrelated. There is no white status quo, this country has been a politically-correct graveyard for quite some time.
there is no white status quo? spoken like a true conservative white guy. folks like you can't see past your own existence, you want your country back? we know what you want, the tea baggers have exposed you
What does my race matter? It seems as though the real racist is you, who cannot focus on anything else than the color of someone's skin. It's a shame that people like you are destroying this once strong society.
That's right, Stormfront, we're just crying our eyes out, wishing we could be successful like the Republicans, wishing our Presidents, like FDR and Thomas Jefferson, had been as successful and memorable as Ronald Reagan. But we know, deep down, that we'll never be that cool, and that nothing we contribute (like the Bill of Rights, or American flags planted on Iwo Jima and the Moon) will ever measure up to magnificent accomplishments like the Reagan deficits.
liberals can cry all they want. It would be imposable for America to reach a 1984 atmosphere with Ronald Reagan in charge. every president since him hasn't even touched the greatness of Ronald Reagan. lol, some idiots are still trying to bash him after he has been cold in the grave for years. do us all a favor and shut up, go to your room and cry there. Rate this comment however you want. Ronald Reagan was right about this, if you disagree you are nothing more than a self communist or socialist.
@stormydaypictures Yeah, Reagan killed my brother by labeling AIDS a gay cancer, and would not fund research early on. This killed my brother, and I will hate Reagan until the day I die for that, among other things! No "Liberal Bias" here, he just hated gays, and even though my brother got AIDS from a transfusion early on, and WAS NOT GAY, he was killed by this moron's small minded thinking.
@stormydaypictures I miss the 80's also my friend, and this Man's leadership, a time when you did not have to question the heart of our Commander and Chief. Everything that great Man did was for the well being of His and Our Country. We can only hope that this will start to be "corrected" in November.
@MrTabby5000 My sad friend bow your head in respect of Ronald Reagan. This Man's life was lived in a way consistent with that of our true American forefathers. I am getting a bit tired of you left wing "outsiders" , and yes you are OUTSIDERS to our Countries true founding values. Let me make it a liitle more clear for you so you can understand - GYFS.
@MrTabby5000 Well Mr Flabby, what we got here is failure to communicate. You miss the point (surprise). Reagan was an American, obama and whoever the left throes out there is not for our true values. Come November this will be made Very Clear.
@MrTabby5000 And you never denied that this Man was a true American who put His and my country first. Let me fill you in on a little secret... The world is a hostile place, and you need to carry a big stick. I voted for this Man because His heart was in the right place.
@MrTabby5000 First wake up call for you will be November 2nd. The next alarm clock to go off in your dimwitted head will be November 2012. Until then, please keep down the chatter. And after 2012.... Well, we will leave it at that.
@TheUsman2000 By 2012 obama the rest of his sinking ship will be underwater as we may not be able to repeal obamacare but he wont get to spend us into the poor house - i dont care if the tea party or republicans do a thing , just stop obamas AGENDA and kick his ass out in 2012 - you gays are with the wrong partry now - obama was never going to let you have dont ask dont tell - hes lied about everything - you gays put too much trust in him-
@MrTabby5000 true - its getting so large that many people arent understanding just how bad it is - i got a question the other day i heard that back when tarp statred that the federal reserve pulled 5 trillion out in secret at the begining of obamas presidency? did i hear right -
@MrTabby5000 Yep... President Ronald Reagan spent for the absolute defense of our Country.... Ya, I am so upset with that, pushing the bar on technology while keeping us safe... obama spends to grease the hands of the unions that brought him to office. Ask yourself one question... Who had their heart in the right place for America? Come 2012 your "hero" will be "lost in the ash heap of history" just like carter.
And republican president dwight d eisenhower did warn us about reagans military industrial complex. You know eisenhower the republican conservatives forgot.
@MrTabby5000 just a reply on your take of the star wars project - it was only suppost to look like it was real - Russia went into Bankruptcy trying to counter the program which is why the program was activated in the first place - the money issue is the only thing that was not good - but without the the money being spent the russians would not have taken the bait - after the russians blew thier money the russian people demaned change from socialism as thier way of life went away-- jesse
@nutbagbrew102 My friend, it is not about calling ourselves Republicans, Democrats, Tea Party or whatever group you belong to... It is about calling ourselves AMERICANS and standing up for what WE know is right. We the people... As far as categorizing gays and where they should stand? That is not our decision. They will watch, listen and learn just like the rest of us true Americans.
@stormydaypictures if by greatness you mean the best puppet we have had in a long time then i agree with you. this guy is an actor... though i would of much preferred him over bush or obama.. im just more of a carter/clinton type of guy
@stormydaypictures Yeah, we're still trying to pay off the $5 Trillion in national debt that he left us!! Thanks Ronnie! (Yes, I know it's $14 Trillion now, but $9 Trillion, a recession, and a war on terror would still be more doable than $14 Trillion, a recession, and a war on terror. Thanks Ronnie!)
@bigbaray So, then tell me, sir. How much debt did Ronnie start with and how much debt did he leave us with? What does your history book tell you? Here's a hint: it's in the trillions of dollars. Worse yet, his tax cuts and spending increases sent the annual budget so far off balance that he set us up for decade after decade of annual deficits even after he was gone. That was unless someone could raise taxes by 20% or slash social security. Look it up! You have google! Gee, thanks Ronnie!
What's the first thing you think of when you hear, "Trickle"? I think piss.
How can you run for government office and then get on your soap box and say government IS the problem? Then why the fuck is your old ass running for president? Answer:
Because the exploitive corporate everything for profit execs wanted all the government regulations and unions to stop so they could not just be rich, but be down right greedy and evil. All they needed was a mouthpiece to make Americans bite.
Because Democrats and some liberal Republicans had created too much big government. Reagan ran on a platfrom of reducing taxes, red tape, etc. It worked. his tax cuts created 20 million new jobs. That stuff about an elite group ruling us instead of self-rule is very timely today: tax-cheat tim geithner, etc. we were told this guy was the only guy to save the economy, so we have to overlook his cheating on his taxes.

"Trees cause more pollution than automobiles"
"Facts are stupid things"
Osama bin Laden is a "freedom fighter"
Ah, the wisdom of Ronald Reagan.
Republicans have spent millions of dollars and the last 20 years trying to spin Ronald Reagan as some kinda messiah instead of admitting that he was a corrupt old buffoon who armed Islamic terrorists and screwed the middle class.
Wow, I do not know where to stop. First off, if any money was spent in regards to Reagan, it would be to cover up his good actions. Tree's do cause more pollution then automobiles, all plant release carbon dioxcide which is one of main contributers to global warming. I do not even know where start with the last one. Hey liberal, get a brain, or at least stop reading liberal bull shit.
Silly little wingnut. When you grow up maybe you'll understand. Consider studying some history & science if you can get into college.
Reagan's "good actions"? You mean like selling missiles to the Iranian ayatollahs? Or helping Pakistan develop nuclear weapons? Or selling anthrax, botulism and mustard gas materials to Saddam Hussein? Those "good" actions?
Unlike automobiles trees do not release carbon monoxide, sulphur or mercury. Reagan led the way in the Republican war on science.
Ok, first off, I'm in college. Yes, someone stupid as me did make it into college. Hmm wonder what that says about a stupid person such as yourself. First off, all plants release CO2, look it up. Second, the republican did not begin a war on science, that was the liberals in the 70's. Global warming does not exist. As for the nuclear weapons, I will not even dignifiy that with a response.
Silly little wingnut, Read the comment again. No one denies that plants release CO2. Corrupt Hollywood airhead Ronald Reagan claimed that "Trees cause more POLLUTION than automobiles". Trees don't release carbon monoxide, sulfur or mercury nor lots of other pollutants that automobiles do.
republicans believe in real science, not fake science like global "warming", evolution, embryonic stem cell research which has not and never will lead to any cures. global "warming" is a religion to you wackos.
Republicans? Real science? Are you kidding? You mean like Republicans believing that the earth was created 6,000 years ago? Or Republicans believing that "Trees cause more pollution than automobiles" like Reagan? Republicans are bought and paid for by the oil and coal companies. They'll believe anything their corporate masters want them to believe.
Wow. I don't think I've ever seen as much misinformation in any single post on YouTube as in your post. Republicans don't believe the earth was created 6000 years ago or that trees are polluters. Republicans aren't bought and paid for by energy companies, democrats are. ...and that's why it's illegal to build nuclear plants and why there are such ridiculous drilling restrictions. After all, drilling or building more power plants would increase supplies and make energy too affordable! Idiot.
Do you get all your "info" from the GOPer hacks Faux News? It's not "illegal to build nuclear plants" The nuclear power industry simply refuses to build them without government subsidies & loan guarantees.
Wow, you're just flailing for reasons to hate, beating a 30 year-old dead horse. I'm not a registered Republican. Lots of people today are being disenfranchised by their own party, or by radical idiots at both ends of the spectrum. Right now we're watching Barack do a bigger number to alienate dems than Bushes or Regan ever did to Republicans.
I don't have to dig back 30 years to find something to complain about what's wrong with Democrats. All I have to do is open my eyes.
@Jafromobile So with your logic: Energi companies like Shell or BP would want to drill as little as possible, so that they can increase the price of oil?
Government is the problem? Nah, Reagan was the problem. Reagan was a corrupt Hollywood air head who raised taxes on working folks to pay for tax cuts for big oil companies and trust fund babies. Most of iut current problems are the result of his idiotic policies.
you just told a flat out lie reagan absolutly did not raise taxes on the working people at all infact he let them keep more of there money based of the Laffer Curve and we witness the largest economic growth and prosperity this country has ever seen on all levels of society....you jsut prooved you have zero credibilty so dont even bother responding
You're a typical Republican, aurick. Ignorant of history and weak at math. Of course Reagan raised taxes on working people. Check out the 1983 amendments to the Social Security Act which raised payroll taxes by over 20%. Reagan, being Reagan, pissed the money away on income tax cuts for defense contractors, oil companies and trust fund babies. I lived through the idiocy of trickle down Reaganomics. You did not. Learn a little history.
The increase in SSA tax was already enacted, along with other measures to save SS. This merely accelerated it. And rich people aren't dependent on SS.
You can't "piss money away" on tax cuts, only on gov't spending. Under Reagan revenue increased, but CONGRESSional spending outpaced those revenues. And somebody had to rebuild our military after the disaster of Carter.
I lived through the Reagan era, and it was the best era of the 47 years of my life.

Get over it repukes....the political playing field has shifted. If repukes dont wake up soon...they will be in permanent minority status for a long time. LMFAO - hahahahaha and I would personally love every minute of it..:)))
I find that there is something wrong with you socially if you actually go LMFAO and hahahahahaha at the GOP collapsing. If you really laugh at that, then there is something wrong with you socially, or you are just trolling.
Also, stop watching MSNBC for your information source, as goes to Republicans who only watch Fox, they both brain wash you.
And stop thinking that your party is always right and has never done anything wrong, and that the other party is to blame.Same with republicans.
or they are a typical liberal dem...people who claim to be intellectual compassionate and open minded when in fact most are the rudest most close minded and hateful people that exsist.
liberals are only open minded if you agree with them
Liberals are no different the conservatives my friend. They both use the same tactic, and anyone who doesn't agree with there ideology is wrong on every issue they debate on. Don't buy into the illusion. Truth is, the dems have moved to the left, and the republicans have moved to the left.
No one thinks about what the founding fathers had in mind for this country. Dems and Repubs have no room for speaking on fiscal responsibility, or about the proper size of gov. I want The constitution back.

Yes, in 77 days His Divine Shadow has done more harm than President Reagan did good in 8 years. He's frantically undoing everything that President Reagan attempted to restore.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Basically Reaganwhore assumed that "people" are not capable of governing themselves, then government ie. "people" should not govern someone else. Question: Then why run for president at all Mr. Reaganwhore? Since you are a "person" then you dont have the ability to govern, since you are a DUMBASS!...Reagan basically set the bar of expectations low, so he could sit in office as a puppet with the neo-cons hand up his ass and do absolutely "nothing".
If Repuke-licans return to this montra that Reaganwhore spewed. If Repukes dont mondernize conservatism; widen the tent and develop new ideas. The Repuke-lican party will be in permanent minority status for a long time. I will personally celebrate everyday. RIP Reaganwhore! - you useless piece of human-waste. cheers!...
Your carefully constructed words that mix republican with puke are adorable and so is your argument...
No really, the idea that the government is beholden to the people and that it should not serve many extra functions is very popular with sensible people.
"WE THE PEOPLE" are the "GOVERNMENT" Mr. Reaganwhore!. Do you hear me you ignorant SOB! All you repukes out there in youtube-land think Reaganwhore was the F'N 2nd comin' of Jesus Christ. Think again!. Reaganwhore's economic policies led Bush 41 to be a (1) term president...LMFAO!.
- you useless piece of human-waste. cheers!...
haha...you crack me up. Typical repuke to attack my use of language rather than on the substance. Tax breaks for the wealthy, de-regulation, corporate greed & the free market run amuck!.. - ohhh yeah that is the answer..LMFAO...How pathetic! Run back to Reaganwhore...dig him up and suck his dick!...
lack of regulation and government is the BASIS of the free market and the BASIS of freedom. That is such a simple concepts but many small thinkers can't grasp it.
BS [aweiss]....The human aspect of "Freedom"...to live in a free society is one thing. To try to tie "freedom" to the economy is a stretch. Maybe you are so out of touch, that you are not aware of the current disasterous economic situation the country is in at the moment. de-regulation and free market gone amuck! played a significant role in leading us to this situation. But, I am sure a repuke like yourself would try to find an excuse to shift the blame...how pathetic!...LMFAO
The country (that includes you and myself) has gone through a (8) year slow de-regulation, tax breaks for the wealthy, let the free market run wild process that has been a total disaster. We are just now seeing the results of the failed policy. One thing you repukes forget is "WE THE PEOPLE" are the "Government" and this past election cycle shows...that when the public is fed up with failed policy....it makes a change.
So Europe, with a ton of regulation, fared better than us? Nope. They have higher unemployment and got slammed harder because they have a less mobile economy. Explain to me exactly the methods that would prevent more problems through government. They are a group with no interest in profits or sustained profits, just reelection.
The disaster was caused by social-engineering liberals who coerced the business world into making decisions based on their view of social justice rather than dollars and cents.
probably the most intellectual and relevant post that has ever been posted on youtube...you re obviously not a sheep like 52% of americans who voted like they were watching a popularity contest on fucking mtv's TRL.

didn't his administration arm and fund the rise of the taliban? how did that one work out?
doorki42 8 months ago
@doorki42 No. The Regan administration armed and funded what is now known as the Northern Alliance, who later solicited and received some additional support from India. Pakistan did not like this as they consider India a mortal enemy. The (then) Karachi government's response was the Taliban. -see- Shah Massoud. He was a strong opposition leader against the Taliban and university educated ally of the West against the USSR.

Oh well.

@MoralMoney
I could care less about his birth certificate my problems are with his policies and ideology, as well as idiots who don't understand supply-side economics and it's effect on an economy.
bigbaray 7 months ago
@bigbaray Sure. We can throw out all kinds of figures; some will cite an inflation-adjusted figure, others won't. But, why the hell are we talking supply-side, market-oriented economics right after a recession that wiped out people's savings and home values to the point that no one is demanding anything? Why the hell are you guys fighting against government regulation right after the most destructive example of financial sector corruption in history? Who's the real puppet here?
MoralMoney 7 months ago
@MoralMoney
you lied about the number.
Regulation cause the current financial mess.
bigbaray 7 months ago
@bigbaray "Regulation cause the current financial mess". that is a bold faced lie. Deregulation did and if you need me to i can point to the examples, the biggest being the Ghram leech biliy act and a host of others. and they proved supply side doesnt work. it has been unbiased proven. remember how they called voodoo economics
MrSupra7 7 months ago
@MrSupra7
Ghram Leech didn't help anything you are correct. But step back further to "Community Reinvestment" and several others like that where banks were being forced, by regulation. to make loans they normally would have never made. Their entire point was to get people homes that couldn't afford them. (not exactly, but that's what happened)
bigbaray 7 months ago
@bigbaray oh sorry wrong that really had littel to do with it. becues even though that was passed, most of the people it was passed for couldnt afford the loan program to begin with.and if you want to blame that act then blame banks. because they enocuraged brokers and LOs to sell the "Shitty" loans. and the BofA intentionaly sought theese people out because they new they would default, they were making money had over selling the bad loans as good in the secondary market.
MrSupra7 7 months ago
@bigbaray he are the big 2 Alternative Mortgage Transaction Parity Act (AMTPA), in 1982, banks could only offer one type of mortgage: a fixed rate, fixed term, fully amortizing mortgage. AMTPA lifted that restriction, opening the door to a host of alternative mortgage types
The Depository Institutions Deregulation and Monetary Control Act of 1980 eliminated state usury laws that limited the interest rates banks could charge. This gave banks an incentive to lend to people who couldnt afford it.
MrSupra7 7 months ago
@MrSupra7
But take the point of what the speaker says.
bigbaray 7 months ago
@bigbaray no i really think you need to look at what those legislations did, the first one created sub prime loans. dip and dodge is what you are doing you didnt even bother to look at the laws. i know ronnie is your hero but he was a a terrible economic president, actually he rivals Barack in a lot of places. and the blame falls on regan, clinton, bush jr. i do agree with smaller govt, but you need regulations i work in the industry, and without them things would be 1000 times worse.

bigbaray 7 months ago
@bigbaray I am an educator. I don't get paid much, and we're getting laid off left and right, but it feels great to be little part of what's holding up a crumbling social infrastructure right as society needs it so much. It case you haven't noticed, our society isn't doing okay. I don't know how many adult students I've had who’ve relied on universities to supplement the care they should be receiving in America. p.s. No need to wait for the future; the present has already decided you are wrong.

That's why venture-capitalists invest in adult, not embryonic.

The republican party no longer has anything to do with this guy. It is government for whoever will give money to the party: generally the corporations and the billionares. I don't recall Reagan talking about killing unions and education.

This is why we are free.

badtux 1 year ago
The technology that created the internet was only possible because of the inventions of the free market. Besides that, the explosive growth of the internet only came when the government (defense department) took its hands off it and left it to private enterprise. Even when it was being developed, it was still spearheaded by private companies. In any event this is all irrelevant because govt. can get funds for these types of things that private companies often cannot anyways. This is a non-issue.

MrTabby5000 1 year ago
@MrTabby5000 Yep... President Ronald Reagan spent for the absolute defense of our Country.... Ya, I am so upset with that, pushing the bar on technology while keeping us safe... obama spends to grease the hands of the unions that brought him to office. Ask yourself one question... Who had their heart in the right place for America? Come 2012 your "hero" will be "lost in the ash heap of history" just like carter.

All they needed was a mouthpiece to make Americans bite.
huskercane 2 years ago
Because Democrats and some liberal Republicans had created too much big government. Reagan ran on a platfrom of reducing taxes, red tape, etc. It worked. his tax cuts created 20 million new jobs. That stuff about an elite group ruling us instead of self-rule is very timely today: tax-cheat tim geithner, etc. we were told this guy was the only guy to save the economy, so we have to overlook his cheating on his taxes.

AtlasShruggery 2 years ago
Wow, I do not know where to stop. First off, if any money was spent in regards to Reagan, it would be to cover up his good actions. Tree's do cause more pollution then automobiles, all plant release carbon dioxcide which is one of main contributers to global warming. I do not even know where start with the last one. Hey liberal, get a brain, or at least stop reading liberal bull shit.
Demonhunter8908 2 years ago
Silly little wingnut. When you grow up maybe you'll understand. Consider studying some history & science if you can get into college.
Reagan's "good actions"? You mean like selling missiles to the Iranian ayatollahs? Or helping Pakistan develop nuclear weapons? Or selling anthrax, botulism and mustard gas materials to Saddam Hussein? Those "good" actions?
Unlike automobiles trees do not release carbon monoxide, sulphur or mercury. Reagan led the way in the Republican war on science.
AtlasShruggery 2 years ago 2
Ok, first off, I'm in college. Yes, someone stupid as me did make it into college. Hmm wonder what that says about a stupid person such as yourself. First off, all plants release CO2, look it up. Second, the republican did not begin a war on science, that was the liberals in the 70's. Global warming does not exist. As for the nuclear weapons, I will not even dignifiy that with a response.
Demonhunter8908 2 years ago 3
Silly little wingnut, Read the comment again. No one denies that plants release CO2. Corrupt Hollywood airhead Ronald Reagan claimed that "Trees cause more POLLUTION than automobiles". Trees don't release carbon monoxide, sulfur or mercury nor lots of other pollutants that automobiles do.
"Facts are stupid things" - Ronald Reagan
AtlasShruggery 2 years ago
republicans believe in real science, not fake science like global "warming", evolution, embryonic stem cell research which has not and never will lead to any cures. global "warming" is a religion to you wackos.
pgharett 2 years ago 2
Republicans? Real science? Are you kidding? You mean like Republicans believing that the earth was created 6,000 years ago? Or Republicans believing that "Trees cause more pollution than automobiles" like Reagan? Republicans are bought and paid for by the oil and coal companies. They'll believe anything their corporate masters want them to believe.
AtlasShruggery 2 years ago
Idiot.
Jafromobile 2 years ago 3
The wisdom of Ronald Reagan:
"Trees cause more pollution than automobiles."
"If you've seen one tree you've seen them all."
"I don't worry about the deficit."
"Facts are stupid things."
"The best minds are not in government."
Not in Reagan's government THAT'S for sure
Do you get all your "info" from the GOPer hacks Faux News? It's not "illegal to build nuclear plants" The nuclear power industry simply refuses to build them without government subsidies & loan guarantees.
AtlasShruggery 2 years ago
Wow, you're just flailing for reasons to hate, beating a 30 year-old dead horse. I'm not a registered Republican. Lots of people today are being disenfranchised by their own party, or by radical idiots at both ends of the spectrum. Right now we're watching Barack do a bigger number to alienate dems than Bushes or Regan ever did to Republicans.
I don't have to dig back 30 years to find something to complain about what's wrong with Democrats. All I have to do is open my eyes.
Happy trolling.

Government is the problem? Nah, Reagan was the problem. Reagan was a corrupt Hollywood air head who raised taxes on working folks to pay for tax cuts for big oil companies and trust fund babies. Most of iut current problems are the result of his idiotic policies.

aurick7737 2 years ago
You're a typical Republican, aurick. Ignorant of history and weak at math. Of course Reagan raised taxes on working people. Check out the 1983 amendments to the Social Security Act which raised payroll taxes by over 20%. Reagan, being Reagan, pissed the money away on income tax cuts for defense contractors, oil companies and trust fund babies. I lived through the idiocy of trickle down Reaganomics. You did not. Learn a little history.
AtlasShruggery 2 years ago
The increase in SSA tax was already enacted, along with other measures to save SS. This merely accelerated it. And rich people aren't dependent on SS.
You can't "piss money away" on tax cuts, only on gov't spending. Under Reagan revenue increased, but CONGRESSional spending outpaced those revenues. And somebody had to rebuild our military after the disaster of Carter.
I lived through the Reagan era, and it was the best era of the 47 years of my life.

Basically Reaganwhore assumed that "people" are not capable of governing themselves, then government ie. "people" should not govern someone else. Question: Then why run for president at all Mr. Reaganwhore? Since you are a "person" then you dont have the ability to govern, since you are a DUMBASS!...Reagan basically set the bar of expectations low, so he could sit in office as a puppet with the neo-cons hand up his ass and do absolutely "nothing".

lack of regulation and government is the BASIS of the free market and the BASIS of freedom. That is such a simple concepts but many small thinkers can't grasp it.
aweiss 2 years ago
BS [aweiss]....The human aspect of "Freedom"...to live in a free society is one thing. To try to tie "freedom" to the economy is a stretch. Maybe you are so out of touch, that you are not aware of the current disasterous economic situation the country is in at the moment. de-regulation and free market gone amuck! played a significant role in leading us to this situation. But, I am sure a repuke like yourself would try to find an excuse to shift the blame...how pathetic!...LMFAO
Suburbancowboy123 2 years ago
The country (that includes you and myself) has gone through a (8) year slow de-regulation, tax breaks for the wealthy, let the free market run wild process that has been a total disaster. We are just now seeing the results of the failed policy. One thing you repukes forget is "WE THE PEOPLE" are the "Government" and this past election cycle shows...that when the public is fed up with failed policy....it makes a change.
Suburbancowboy123 2 years ago
So Europe, with a ton of regulation, fared better than us? Nope. They have higher unemployment and got slammed harder because they have a less mobile economy. Explain to me exactly the methods that would prevent more problems through government. They are a group with no interest in profits or sustained profits, just reelection.
