Don't be fooled by this video. This was once an upscale, clean, safe part of the Motor City, near U of D. Naturally, it was ALL WHITE in those days. There's a reason the poster shot this from inside his car, behind locked doors, no doubt, and he wouldn't dare get out of it. Proof that Negroes could turn Trump Tower into a slum. Racial equality, anyone?
Actually I would say about 10% of the city is similar in nature to this, and this area has just as many African Americans as the rest of the city. Northwest Detroit, which is over 90% black is made up mostly of middle-class black households.
It was taken in the University District which is just east of Palmer Park. I'm not sure exactly which streets these are on, but the area is basically bounded by 7 Mile to the North, Livernois to the West, McNichols to the South, and Fairway to the East.
At about the 1:45 mark, I believe the crossroad is McNichols, and something makes me think that the remainder of the video is actually within the neighborhood south of McNichols, which technically isn't in the University District.
get a reality check. From across the seas comes cocaine but you'll never see a black man fly the plane look at the news young black death was it drug related take a guess. We don't own any planes or stores, white people bring the drugs in from across the country and guns why cuz they want us to kill ourselves, we only came to Detroit in search of work assholes. White people moved out because they were scared of the color of our skin that's why riots broke out because we couldn't get along. STFU.
Considering it was filmed in a residential neighborhood in the middle of the day, my guess is that they're all at work... Add to that the fact that it was taken in the winter time, so you won't find any people outside doing yard work.
but i live in a neighborhood called the HISTORIC BOSTON EDISON DISTRICT, where the price of homes range from $50,000 to $800,000...maybe even a million dollars, and there are niggers everywhere, lmao...do some research.
oh ya, racists are usually ignorant and extremely unintelligent...loser
I looked pretty close on Google Earth, and your neighborhood, beautiful as it is, seems to be engulfed by blighted areas. How do you maintain the quality of life there in those circumstances?
The neighborhood, called the University District, is about 84% black and about 11% white. The population is about 4,000 in about .5 sq. mi. However it is a part of a larger "University Commons/Golf Club" area which consists of several middle-class and wealthy neighborhoods. The area has about 23,000 people with black residents making up about 92%. Detroit's white population is actually located in the working-class Southwest side. The majority of Detroit's white wealth is located in the suburbs.
Thank you for posting this. Seeing all the other vids on Detroit, I was sold on the fact that the whole city looked like absolute shit. Now theres indisputible video evidence that Detroit actually has a nice side. How big or small is this particular neighborhood?
This is Rosedale Park, at Grand River and 5 mile. If you walk south, across Southfield...your once again in deepest darkest Africa. And if you walk North, your in Brightmoor, another place you dont wanna be.
The only "chance" Detroit would have had is if the races could coexist. We were the last white family to leave W. Outer Dr. - Littlefield in 1972. Even with diehard folks like us, it just TOO DANGEROUS. And we did have many fine black neighbors. It's just that their criminal, delinquent element is too big. Too many resentful, hateful blacks, who hate the successful blacks as much as they do the whites.
NO NIGGER they moved out because you assholes were destroying peoples ways of life, guns, drugs, rape, robbery, and the list goes on! And NO isis no fineblack neighbourhoods,my guess is you need a History book with pictures asshole!
@weblab1 Actually even the nicer neighborhoods in Detroit are mostly Black.

Detroit is a beautiful place - in some areas. Sadly, not everyone sees this or realizes how wonderful the city could be if given a chance.
