I dont believe Alexandria is an Islamic city since it was founded by Greeks, houses the Egyptian orthodox Pope and has the largest Jewish and Christian populations in Egypt lol
all us whites are the same. we think because they have different religion, they have this "siritual reason" to build this stuff. i say hell, i feel like building tall shit!
I am sorry but truly great cities occur over time and can not be produced instantly. No tradtions, no long established links between people organizations, business. Vancouver is another example of a one dimenional place; there is nothing that tells us about ourselves and where we come from that has been left standing. It is all fiction, nice package, no content.
Also, you shouldn't worry about the structural integrity of these large buildings. People had the same worries about the Empire State Building at first. In reality the opposite is true.
Generally the larger the building, the sturdier it is. Skyscrapers are designed to absorb and neutralize force, and they sway like trees in the wind.
Taipei 101 can withstand magnitude 9, and perhaps even 10 earthquakes. 9.5 is the strongest ever recorded. Smaller buildings can't do this
We haven't seen a good old fashioned skyscraper competition since New York in the 20s and 30s. Good going, Dubai. These are truly splendid structures! My hope is that all this might spark some friendly competition in the U.S. We haven't had any really impressive megaprojects since Apollo!
it is crrently a proposal, but yes hopefully it will:). ive read some rumors though that the construction will be delayed for 12 months to start the foundation, and that the size would be shrunk to 750m (smaller than the burj dubai)
i do believe it will be tallest. but the first time someone takes a step in there the whole thing will die(collapse).then it will crush other buildings.why make a big deal over deadly heights????
making dubai unbelivable is not only this project but also too many project going on.
they are fighting over the biggest and the tallest and the most expensive and more and more coz they have lots of money but its good that they make use of it like this ways.
everything is on hold now, and burj khalifa will keep the title for more longer than ever expected.
is it considered good or bad luck !
