I love seeing my premiums increase yearly while I subsidize people who "choose" not to buy insurance. I love seeing on the news how much insurance companies are making. I love not knowing what my insurance will actually cover when I go to the doctor because I can't read an insurance booklet the size of the phone book written by lawyers. I love knowing the system is so big and so screwed up that it probably can't be fixed. I love that Sen's and Rep's to enormous contributions from health care.

the HMO Act and laws making it illegal to purchase insurance across state lines and the government increasing regs that burden smaller carriers is what gave a monopoly to a select few insurance companies, which drove up costs. It's not the free market. The free market is YOU AND ME. It's our freedom of choice to choose one company over another based on cost and affordability. The point of the video is that medical prices will come down with "true" free market principles. Look past passions and politics. 20 years ago people could still pay cash for a doc visit. 30 years ago doctors still made house calls. What has happened? All the govt. regulations destroying competition and community have aided in insurance corruption and out of control prices. The purpose of having insurance is to not use it unless there is an emergency. People now use it as a rebate...

The countries with socialized medicine in western europe and canada all have lower infant mortality rates and longer life expectancies. They also spend half as much as we do and cover every citizen. Explain why this is. Perhaps I am ignorant and don't know something you do.

As for emergency care being the only purpose of insurance, does preventative care cost more or less than emergency care?

@bigpapi255 Infant mortality rates while on the surface would seem as an apples to apples comparison it is not. In the US and a baby is born pre-mature, the US will try at a much earlier time to have the baby be born, other countries do no.
