  • But nice review dude it's nice watching a review where someone seems to have alot of passion for the item being reviewed alot of people don't on these videos today with their boring monotone voice

  • The screw at the bottom is just to keep the base on as if you unscrew it the base comes of and you can take the spring mechanism out I wondered about it with mine I have the 322 copy of this replica and that bugged me for a bit on why it was there untill infigured it out it's just simply how they put it all together.

  • the reason todays sonic screwdrivers are cheap plastic pieces of crap, is because it is more appealing to children. because they are cheap, parents can afford them, and children are drawn to it by its light and sound. but this is a replica, not a toy. but to 7 year olds it is boring, and to parents its really expensive.

  • You're actually really smart to wash your hands before handling it; it isn't some $15 toy, it's a high quality, limited edition replica, and worth a lot of money. Also, I'll echo a couple other people in saying that the dates on the back are referring to the debut of the sonic screwdriver itself while the dates on the front are referring to this particular model.

  • Where did you get the screwdriver from

  • @craigtalkswho He says in the video that he got it on Ebay.

  • Brilliant review.. and a true appreciation of the classic DW series. I was brought up with the Tom Baker series.. so I'm green with envy :)

I totally agree with ya on the new Sonic Screwdriver with the silly blue light. lol.

  • This is indeed a very nice replica, but for the price they certainly could have fit sound in there (possibly even screen-accurate, unlike the toy). As my dad said, "For that much, you should be able to drive it away!"

  • @MrMaffew87 I noticed that in "The Three Doctors" (technically 3rd doctor's screwdriver, but almost the same) he twisted it like twisting a pen, then twisted it back and it stopped.

  • That is an amazing present!!! Wow! I was always a big Tom Baker fan. Good job on the video! Enjoy your Screwdriver!!!

  • there was a light on the first sonic screwdriver it was used by the 2nd doctor

  • yeah the 1968 is reffering to the sonic screwdriver in general. not this model specifically.

  • You sound about 10 :L

And learn how to say Terileptil

Apart from that, lucky sod getting it!

  • I envy you.

  • The 3rd Doctor's Screwdriver is for sale too.

  • do you have a twin, or is it just bad sound cause i keep hearing someone talk over you, but with the exact same voice

  • The sonic screwdriver in 1968 looked nothing like the one Baker (and Pertwee before him) had in his tenure; honestly, it looked more like a really fancy silver penlight. Also, the design changed a bit between Pertwee and Baker, which is why it lists those years on the box rather than 1968-1982.

  • You don't have OCD if you wash your hands before handling expensive and rare objects.

    You have common sense.

It's good to see you so excited about your prop.

One question, does it make a sound?

  • how long is the sonic exactly in length? from top to bottom

  • hey the light on the new series sonic screwdriver acts as a pointer or an amer

  • well done mate im making my own out of a ratchet

  • but does it open doors?

  • u know it's much cooler with the sound u pay all this money for something that is gonna collect dust and doesnt even make a sound what fun is that. I really do hate collectors and because u opened it. it already lost value if u sell it later well good luck trying to sell now huh.

  • i love tom baker he is my second favorite doctor i have to say that David Tennant is my favorite but then again he was my first doctor. I have a shirt that says u never forget your first doctor with the tardis on it. Now i have to ask is this actually a product of BBC or who ever makes the products like the sonic screwdrivers or the figurines. bcuz i read somewhere that these were just some company making these replicas.

  • Looks cool! I'm glad im not the only fan that likes the classic series! Have you seen the Doctor Who 1996 Paul Mcgann Film? I have! It rocks!

  • @goldromans so do i!

  • good...... WERES THE SOUND D:

  • @drwhotoyreviewer11 there is no sound it's just a replica

  • Comment removed

  • OMG I geting jons sonic i had no idea you could get that

  • im buying 1 with SOUND!!

  • Hiya, DrWhotoyreviews. This is a very good review of the prop of the fourth doctors sonic screwdriver. I think the part on the back of the box where it is saying about the fourth doctor was around from 1974-1981 and then you got confused about the other dates in the big gallifrey symbol. Those dates mean and show when the sonic screwdriver was first seen in the actual Doctor Who programme. Hope i helped

  • nice review do u play bass guitar coz i play bass guitar and it would be cool to hear u play

  • @megababby obsesive compulsive disorder i have that LOL

  • "This is not a toy." Yes it is!

lol. That's what I say about every replica I ever got that told me those same exact words.

  • Its Not For Eyes, For Ears!

  • The Blue (Red In Future Sonic's Case, and Green in 11th Doctor Sonic's Case) Light on the Sonics are to show the area in which the sonic is affecting, the light is a guide as you were and helps the accuracy of the sonic waves. The trouble is with that individual screwdriver is that you have to hold it at an angle to use it, the latest ones are much easier to use and hold.

  • I mean 4th | V

  • When it says 1968 to when ever it means when the sonics were about coz after abd before that they had

Brollies and walkin sticks so the u have was 3rds sonic like the tenths or elvenths cos that was like HIS sonic so yeh thats why

  • iff you looked tho thtat bit ur eye would explode as theta is teh somic emitter -_-

  • No sound? If not this has really lost it's gravitas in my mind

  • i hear what you say but i think the classic looks abit cheesy. the new one looks more realistic, more feasable...

  • The Second Doctor's (and Third Doctor's) screwdrivers had different appearances, so that'll be why they didn't put 1968.

Nice review, and the way you said "this is not a toy" amused me somewhat.

  • awsome dude

  • that monster you couldnt pronounce is pronounced like this :

    (Ter-i-lep-tils)

  • hehe vibrator

  • GREAT NEWS FOR CLASSIC SERIES FAN'S AND COLLECTORS !!!! .

Underground Toys are producing a Classic Series Sonic Screwdriver Toy , based on the 3rd Doctor version from the 70's . A small Picture of it can be seen on " the Doctor Who Site " in the Merchandise section . It's being shown at this Years 2010 San Diego Comic Con , due out September this Year , no price mentioned .

  • Very professional review, Cheers!

  • @megababby LOL the reason i do this is because i need to keep it in good condition or it wont sell as much in far future if in bad condition.

  • @DrWhotoyreviews sigh collectors annoy me because toys are mean fto be played with not hoarded

  • @ecxlex i totally agree i think it is a litte useless to get one of these i understand i guess ppl wanting to sell them later but it is a little pointless let someone else have one who actually wants one and isnt gonna let it sit in a box collecting dust there is no point to that u cant open it orelse it looses much of it's value

  • @warriorsrock123 but if u think about it it is better as a replica it comes wiv glass it's metal and u could sell it 4 $500 or $700

  • @DrWhotoyreviews yes im buying the third doctors sonic screwdriver

  • @DrWhotoyreviews yes im buying the third doctors sonic screwdriver and the future sonic screwdriver :)

  • -_-. . .800 worldwide. . .life is not fair.

  • my god some people can waffle on. this review could of been 2 mins....MAX!!

  • I can understand the guide light because the modern series Sonic has more features and function and is an electronics based sonic as opposed to the hardware based sonic of the old days. It's linked into the Tardis as well which is why it resembles the console like the Matt Smith version. The classic sonic is just a hand tool and therefore limited in it's capabilities.

  • @Remmy95 Actually Silence on the Library was the last time she was with the Doctor ut was the first time the Doctor met her. The Future Sonic isn't the 10th Doctor screwdriver because the construction is totally different as is the materials used IE Brass as opposed to aluminum. Fan speculation is that that sonic he gives her is a modified 8th/9th Doctor sonic with the dampeners and neural link added before he gave it to her.

  • Nice screwdriver! What do you think of Matt Smith's? Oh and Iknow what you mean about the finger print thing! I feel the same way with my Limited Edition Doctor Who figures! And some that aren't Limited actually! I'm going to subscribe to you!

  • were can i get this

  • that very very first appearrence of the sonic screwdriver was in the war games part 3

  • @ryananderson280195 Actually it was in Fury From the Deep that the sonic made it's first appearance and later in Tomb of the Cybermen. The War Games was the last appearance of the original screwdriver that was actually a pen light.

  • can't you get one for like nearly £15 at amazon

  • cool! i'm thinking about buying the 10th doctor's screwdriver cuz i don't have $150 so... i only have 20... But cool! and i think the blue light is to show you where you are aiming the screwdriver... thats just my opinion though...

  • @Penguinfilms123 Its 150 pounds idiot. That is much more than $150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @HuwGaas ok it's 450 dollars here...

  • You are ... MAD

  • cool i dont think ill get it £120 wat!

  • you fill me with complete envy!!!

  • @sEaNyzboy lol thank you for watching

  • @DrWhotoyreviews my pleasure im just a hardcore doctorwho/sci fi fan most probably like yourself

  • two things-

the symbol at the bottom of the case is the symbol of rassilon (the time lord that could live forever(five doctors))

and at least, unlike most kids(not patronizing) you have some knowledge of the good ol' classic series'!

oh, and I have this prop replica, ITS AWSUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bigdoughnut120596 thanks interesting comment.

  • @bigdoughnut120596 your write, its basically me and my mate in the whole of where I live that know there stuff "about good ol' classic series'!"

  • does it make noise???

also is matt smith having the futre sonic screwdriver!!!

  • No it doesn't make a sound... only if you install a sound chip, which isn't that easy to find. And secondly im not sure if Matt is having the future screwdriver. Thanks for watching means alot!

  • @MrCHENSTER1 yh he gets it in the episode with the weeping angels where proffessor river song comes back i think

  • i cant get this i'm not allowd

  • Thats unfortunate but it is expensive.

  • thanks alot :D
