Sadly, I think that Square has hit a wall. I mean, the FF series is legendary for great, enthralling  stories and awesome music. After so many years of trying to outdo themselves, it seems they can only go back and update the graphics on the older ones. Though I think they are doing a bit too much for FF IV.

@blsessex The DS version uses chibi models for characters, this uses higher res sprites than the original. I guess it really depends on which style you want, although the after years is only in sprite form.

So...they make us buy all of the expansions separately for After Years on the Wii, which got real expensive quick, and now they just release them all together WITH Final Fantasy IV on the PSP after every expansion has been bought? Great consumer loyalty (not). On top of that this game has been re-made at least 3 times already. If you're going to remake a game, why not have it be like a 3D version of 6? Just a thought. Ok... so it came out on Super NES... then it got re-released on PSX bundled with Chrono Trigger and titled: "Final Fantasy Chronicles"... then it got re-released on Game Boy Advance... and then remade on Nintendo DS... and it's probably available on Wii Virtual Console along with The After Years... I'm guessing I'm missing a few re-releases as well

i wouldn't say the all the FF series needs a remake but i think remaking them into psp form is good idea, i think all the ps1 FF series can be small games that can either be downloaded or even be for the psp in a package and the ps2 FF series can be remade into HD for the psp2
