  • Simple. Hans smokes what I smoke when I listen to these legendary tunes. Is it wrong ?

  • Gracchus: "He returns to Rome a conquering hero. But what has he conquered?

Falco: "Give him time, Gracchus. I think he could do very well."

Gracchus: "For Rome, or for you?"

  • War is what happens when people share incentives. When resources are limited.

My family is starving. So is yours. Not enough to share.

    I'm coming after you.

  • And yes, the U.S. is eminently completely responsible for any and most-all Iraqi deaths after we removed the power structure...of course...there weren't that many deaths in that manner while Saddam was leader, right....so...ergo.....

  • @triarii11 lets not forget israel part in the bigger picture they more or less control the west

  • @mmalover1991 You're nuts. Are you scared of a one-world government also?

  • To stringerboi: I agree....yet somehow we are drawn to a supposed "honor" to die in the arena, in combat, under "fitting" conditions....I feel that even now...it is a right-er way to go for me than old age and slow decay.....why, when we know it is all a facede? Strange....

  • @triarii11 we all desire glory, but unfortuneatly we all desire pride as well. Pride means fear of failure where as with glory, its not ourselves that matter but something greater...

  • Do you know the feeling, after watching a movie you feel bad because it ended..?

I have that with this movie!!

And the soudtrack is amazing!! 0.o

    ;D

  • the clory of war was lost after WW1, in that war prisoners werent killed (mostly). and sivilians were not killed in such numbers as in WW2. but in now days war has NO honor, not even in the victory which is completed by killing sivilians and unarmed...

  • THIS LAND IS ROMAN.

  • I wonder what Hans smokes to make such legendary tunes.

  • @Kapo465

he smokes a joint called discipline, with some chemicals thrown in like "natural talent"

  • @Kapo465 My stuff.

  • @Kapo465 It all sounds like ethnic drums and sound effects as in all action videogames until 3:04 where the real music really starts, and where it rips off heavily WAGNER, check Gotterdamerung on youtube . Hans Zimmer wasn't alone to paste Wagner and Holst in his OST, he did it with Badelt, Gerrard and a few others.

The real question is , what did WAGNER smoke to have such brilliant ideas?

  • @Kapo465 Amnesia Haze

  • :') 2:08 - 2:50 :') PURE EMOTION

  • Superb...

  • I like the soundtrack, its good as do Hans Zimmer's other sound tracks....like it but not like it....its good.....movie and its other sound tracks are good

  • Hans Zimmer=best soundtracks

  • @Mlcek11 Not only Hans Zimmer, but John Williams too! :)

  • 2:49 is my favorite part

  • Hail Caesar!

  • Masterpiece!

  • this music is very inspiring! It reminds me of Han's other work in the dark knight and last samurai. Interestingly, it also reminds me of the Heal the USA song by Ira Mcknack, which was similiarly masterful in its musical quality.

  • Skip to 3:00 for the best part.

  • Hans Zimmer (L) eres un genio

  • Glorious music. Really epic!!

  • Hans zimmer is synonymum of perfekt musik!

  • the only glory there is in war is victory- the perpetual conquest of your enemies. All this bullshit notion of honor in war is what it is- bullshit. No honor is killing civilians or massacring whole armies that surrender. The only honor bestowed is the one where you can say "we won". Dont glorify war as something cool cause its never been cool. War is an ugly, dirty business thats unfortunately necessary.

  • @stringerboi

Sorry but I'd consider it honorable and glorious to die fighting for my country.

  • @tankdogg937

Much better than dying from a terrible disease or being too old to shit or piss on my own.

  • @tankdogg937 you never fought or died for anything so stfu.

  • @stringerboi Now tell this to my fellow Americans, they yell victory in the name of peace but don't realize we have killed hundreds of thousands Iraqi innocent civilians.

  • @iparra393 The US has not killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis you dumb fuck.

  • @njdevil281 Yes, they did. They killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. And one 14 year old gir was raped and killed by 5 US soldiers, ahd her parents were killed too. Just search here "Iraq War - The rape and murder of Abeer Qassim Hamza". This wouln't have happened if it wasn't for the US unlawful invasion.

  • @MyloHase No Iraqis killed themselves, just like they are still doing, Sunni vs Shiite.

  • @stringerboi You're forgetting about mutual honour between opponents. Fighter Aces for example hold each other in high regard. The Red Baron was given a full military funeral with honours by the Allies duing WWI.

  • @stringerboi i suppose it depends on what your really fighting for

  • @stringerboi war is comeing. with all its glory..... and all its horror.

  • @stringerboi to quote marcus aurelius: "death smiles at us all, all we can do is smile back"

  • @stringerboi yeah but the act of defending ones values is glorious, i understand war isn't nice the first victim of it is innocence,i personally do many combat sports and actually fighting another man who is evenly matched and defeating them i can see the honor and glory init

  • @stringerboi Have you ever fought in a war?

  • @stringerboi war isn't necessary, or inevitable. It is just the simplest way for those in power to get more power

  • @stringerboi war is cool, stop using the hackneyed war is bad gimmick. To those of us not directly engaged, wars are fucking epic.

  • @stringerboi ha war is not necessary, you just said it yourself, war is done for the glory, its to feed our egos and thirst for power. glory is not necessary. nor is war.

  • @stringerboi War is not necessary in most cases. Mostly its caused by rich people seeking the wealth of other rich people using the poor to fight and die for that wealth.

  • @stringerboi war is not necessary unless you have two sides that are unwilling to settle things diplomatically (israel & all of islam), or if you have two equal powers at a stand off that have better things to do than waste their time and money on war (cuban missile crisis)

  • JAMES HORNER!!!!!!!!!!-you stole something!

  • same of gathering all navi's in avatar's track..

  • hear avatar "gathering all navi's track" it's the same.....

  • @magicprophecy Listen to Wagner's "Das Rheingold" Overture, also listen to the Funeral march from Gotterdamerung. Zimmer mainly used these pieces for inspiration.

  • Yes the Soundtrack is Great....But I love how Zimmer used Wagner And Holst through the whole Film

  • @Nixonfan2011

Wagner? I didn't recognize anything, but then, I don't really know Wagner

could you please tell me where the reference is?

  • ...spartacus gay, someone should make a movie with out any romance just battle

  • We were the cradle of european culture , and now who we are?

Were is our old proud italy ?

  • @babyray87 Italy is one of the best countries in the world, don't feel bad. Beautiful cities, beautiful architecture, and the best cars in the world. Pagani, Ferrari, Lamborghini. :D

  • @rupertacdc Yes i know i''m italian XD But with this shit of berlusconi and our politiciians our beautiful country is transformed into a shit ç_ç

  • @babyray87 haha yeah I know you are, I'm not though and was just telling you not to feel so bad ;) hopefully the voters will change their opinions soon, it's hard though because he owns a lot of the media

  • @rupertacdc ruper thank you very much for your support but honestly in my country we have no choice ... they are all corrupts, from left to right , not only berlusconi , do you know how much money a politician in italy ???35 000 euro in a year !!! these are stolen money to us... our politicians are the real MAFIA! There is no work , and there is salary is € 400 , 800 and rarely 1000 per month!! A misery!! And from this salary we must removed taxes -.-!!! Ps: i'm sorry for my bad english

  • Comment removed

  • @babyray87 Or to calm down, or... Mafia is for long time already international evil - to well grounded...It brought and brings certain opportunities to certain circles - which you will not be acquainted to. It is "leashed" - to say ? Worse - sounds miserable but it will last YET... Arenadri5

  • @babyray87 It's not berlusconi. It has been like this for what; 600 years? atleast the last 90 years or so.

  • @ElmerAwesome No , it's not only for berlusconi but all our politicians from mussolini to him ...

  • @babyray87 I believe the 'glory' was already lost in the medievals during the decadent society of Venice that would rather plunder Byzantine for money then to serve the true goals the crusaders sought after. Their god was money instead of Christ, their mission plunder instead of victory. They would even burn warfleets if the tax wasn't paid. As I said; it's not just berlusconi and politicians like him. It has been for a very long time.

  • @ElmerAwesome Why to made mess with ages, centuries, eras ? Concepts of glory differ for different societies, or times passing bring another ideas, ideals - so as methods THEY respected to bring might and power for always different goals, by another classes - "barbarian" - meaning modified - territories and conquering lasted in various directions - forever lasting common custom...Styles differ, but goals not so much! (Ups and downs) Arenadri5

  • @dajnanezic Glory as in courage, honour and achieving something by strenght. I can assure you the crusaders, byzantines and even the venecians themselves saw nothing glorious in the sacking of constantinople. THe Venicians just wanted money.

  • @ElmerAwesome - You answering me on some my reflections about changes of views through political history, sure differ from sociological and sociopsychological aspects of mentioned problem that You made the point - I agree , that just geopolitical pretender have unscrupulous aspirations. so terrible results are real evil. And as You anticipated my newer comment on pages with "Saving the Private Ryan" (-please look for arenadri7 - by YouTube)

  • I want to see Rome returned to her days of Glory!!!!

  • @MrJpn1996

    Keep dreamin

  • I like this, it so good

  • 3:00

  • Great song before the gun goes off before a 5k thru marathon, truly awesome song!

  • this is my best prime up music before a workout!

  • You gotta love Hans Zimmer. Great song.

  • @liazz07 I agree with you.

  • Meaning up to 2:50 then, the rest I recognize. ;)

  • Never heard this before, and I've seen the movie many times.

But I immediately recognized a similarity with "Gathering the Na'vi clans" from Avatar.

  • @Skywalker91 Yes not only Avatar but also the movie Pearl Harbor when the Japanese are planing the attack :D

  • GENIUS!!

  • "There goes Rome like a conquering hero. What has he conquered?"

  • a partir del minuto 3:00 entro en el cielo levitando Dios! qué maravillaaaaaaa!!!!!

  • 2:13 to 2:40 sounds like a chase scene in a movie trailer. Just sayin'.

  • U dont need cocaine when u listen to this legendary music!!!!

  • I live in Sweden

  • @UnicornsRcute is it cold?

  • @SukiDaYoNe123 Yes, sometimes...

  • @UnicornsRcute Can you speak Swedish? :D I wanna learn it, because my great-great-grandmother was Swedish... I think...

  • @SukiDaYoNe123 What makes you think that your great-great-grandmother was Swedish? That's like 1 million years ago ;). And of course I can speak Swedish.

    Länge leve Sverige!

  • @UnicornsRcute Well, I know she was Swedish, 'cuz my mom told me. Lol. And it's cool you can speak two languages. I'm working on my second (Japanese) and I might learn Spanish or French in school... Swedish would be cool to learn, I think.

  • @SukiDaYoNe123 I can speak 3 languages :). In the fourth grade, the English classes started and then in the seventh grade we got to choose a third language or if we wanted to we could choose extra English classes. I chose to take Spanish lessons.:)

  • @UnicornsRcute That's awesome. I want to learn a lot of different languages, but I don't have much exposure to them, as I live in America, and the general mindset here is that English is really all you need to know (which is, in my opinion, complete BS). So I don't have many opportunities other than anime, which has allowed me to start learning how to speak and read/write Japanese... I still have a long way to go, though. Though I do want to learn Turkish <3

  • @SukiDaYoNe123 Turkish, really<? :O I've never even thought about learning Turkish hah. But Japanese seems to be quite hard though but still interesting to learn.

  • @UnicornsRcute Japanese isn't really that hard once you get the gist of it; there's no conjugation that I know of, so unlike English or German, it's very consistent. The hard thing about languages are inconsistencies, and I doubt Japanese has many. As far as I know, the hardest thing about Japanese is kanji.

  • @SukiDaYoNe123 Maybe I'll give it a try someday! I would love to go to Japan one day, because I love their buildings, you know the red ones. Do you know if the japes is good at English, so maybe in the future I could go to Japan for a couple of weeks or maybe months just to learn Japanese and learn a bit about their culture. Or do you think that I should know some basics first? I can only say two word in Japanese, Konichiwa and Sayonara. haha So Holding a conversation would be really hard ;).

  • @UnicornsRcute Well, I don't know about going to Japan or any of that, but I know that watching anime helps. Do you know what that is?

  • @SukiDaYoNe123 Yeah, I have read some anime, like Dragon Ball, but never on Japanese.

  • @UnicornsRcute Actually watching it in Japanese is better because you figure out correct pronunciation and such. Also the voice actors fit the characters more than a dub in another language ever will. Lol.

  • @SukiDaYoNe123 Well, I haven't really watched any anime since pokemon was still cool haha. So could you give me some tips on what to see? :)

  • @UnicornsRcute Personally my favorite anime Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, but Bleach is my number 2. Hetalia is good too (it's really funny, lol, though since it makes fun of a bunch of different countries, you might be offended, I don't know if you're sensitive to that kind of stuff). Angel Beats! and Gintama are good, so is Inuyasha (but it's hard to find in Japanese). And I've never watched it, but a lot of people love Fullmetal Alchemist. Death Note is awesome too.

  • @SukiDaYoNe123 Urgh, I do both German and Russian, and the cases are so difficult! There's four cases in German, six in Russian, and they are so difficult to grasp...in English, you can say 'i gave my homework to the teacher' and there's no other way of saying it coherantly. But in German you can say thngs like 'my homework I gave to the teacher' as long as you use the right case. It's so confusing!

  • @templarknight94 *rubs hands together* I'm excited. >:D After all, learning wouldn't be fun if it didn't challenge the learner. And anyway, German is a lot like English: more exceptions to the rule than actual cases of it, as Mark Twain said. :D

  • @SukiDaYoNe123 Hehe, me too! Yeah, I agree with you there. I'm thinking about trying Greek, It's a language that I've always wanted to learn...if only because it's ancient and it has a cool alphabet-that's the reason I took Russian when I could!

  • @templarknight94 My school doesn't offer German and Russian, only French and Spanish. D: So I'm going to have to get Rosetta Stone or teach myself German, Turkish, and Japanese (which I'm actually doing very well at teaching myself, as I can already read both hiragana and katakana and understand simple sentences), among other languages. orz I need more foreign friends. D:<

  • the chicago blackhawks use this in their pregame jumbotron montage

  • the middle kind of sounds a little like James Horner's Gathering all the na'vi clans for battle in Avatar.

  • I remember buying the cd ten friggin years ago. The last true epic film.

  • Genius

  • I just realized this is the pregame montage music for the Chicago Blackhawks when they play home games. That makes this track even more bad ass than it already was.

  • this sounds like the song on the last samurai

  • @thunderbird654 It does ;) Same composer, wasn't it? I'm fairly sure it was :)

  • I love the introdution/intrusion of these asian-like sounds at 2.39- It's brilliant. :)

  • @kkckdkdtlol

Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard will echo in eternity.-

  • wats the song when he escapes hes execution and is riding home on the horse?????

  • @1BeatleJuice1 AMEN!

  • wow.....is all I can say for this track. Absolutely amazing. Zimmer's usual contrast and passion.

  • This makes me just want to grab my Scutum shield, 2 Pila, and gladius and sloughter ppl as a Roman Legionare

  • Rome in its glory!

  • i love this soundtrack!!! thnx for uploading =D

  • ugh i am tired of pple arguing.....just enjoy the music!!! This has got the be the BEST soundtrack OF ALL TIME....and u guys are arguing about something....talk about ruining the moment

  • @marchingbandfan14 You are sooo right.

  • @ShabahSaz02 yay someone agrees... :|

  • @ShabahSaz02 You are soooooo right about that marchingbandfan14 is right.

  • @marchingbandfan14 I wouldn't say the best, though definitely ONE of the best. One, if not the, finest of Zimmer's works

  • @marchingbandfan14 I just wanna say I think the Lord of the Rings soundtrack is much better than this one, you may think differently though. Just my opinion.

  • 3:05 - 4:56 is beyond beautiful. Only Zimmer could weave something that lusciously grand.

  • Oh, Hans Zimmer..... <333

  • Go Ancient Rome!

  • 3:01 is where Commodus enters Rome. That scene makes me smile cuz Commodus is like "Worship me, my people" and the people are like "We're dying of plague and we have no food" and Commodus is all "Yes, yes, my children, I love you too."

  • S.P.Q.R

  • One of my favorite moves of all time... and one of the BEST movies of all time!!!

  • композиция прозвучала в скандально известном ролике партии «Родина», из-за которого она была снята с выборов в МосГорДуму в 2006 году.

  • @MyFeldsher exactly, I say the same.

  • This film wont last another 10 years instead it will last forever!

  • i completely agree Shabah Saz02. the music is phenomenal, and will always be!

  • great music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This music has an effect on me, I feel like screaming out loud and fighting 0.0

  • everytimes i see this movie makes me want to cry. but i love o keep watchinh.. I wish tht movies can be amazing as this

  • Since..... 3:25 I am seeing as I saw in the movie... ROME and his magnificence!!!!!!.... IMPRESIONANTE!!!!!!

  • AMO ESTA MUSICA

  • its beautiful, i love it since i was 13 lolz

  • they dont make movies like this anymore :(

  • @liazz07 yeahhhh, never

  • @liazz07 idk man i thought Gladiator is probs the best historical epic but the last samurai (despite its poetic license) and kingdom of heaven came close. Troy?. Plus Centurion is awesome but not exactly an epic as Gladiator covers bigger themes. Also Gladiator has a better plot and outstanding performances from Crowe and Phoenix along with some great supporting roles, more memorable characters. Although the cinematography in Centurion rivals if not surpasses Gladiator with its sweeping shots

  • wow one song of avatar sounds like this! but its beautiful and epic

  • GO BLACKHAWKS!

  • @HazeGreyAndUnderway Yep, I also love "The Orchard" video before every game.

  • "There goes Rome like a conquering hero. What has he conquered?"

  • Sa me fait pleurer; quel film le meilleur au monde que de beau acteur de très belle musique!

  • There needs to be more movies like this one..... Thanks for putting up the amazing music

  • WAY BETTER THAN AVATAR! >:D

    Gladiator FTW!!

  • One of those cheesy comments - OMG i have just fell in love!

  • At 1:50

Sounds like 2:50 from Gathering All the Na'vi Clans (James Horner's Avatar)

  • @eric102988 Horner IS known for stealing... but either way, it's not exactly a "new" idea either.

  • @BrachioInGen

    Is he now? Evidence please?

  • @Simsim1705 just because this is youtube, doesn't mean you should have an attitude. Please have a look the court case where James Horner and Disney got sued for "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" by like... three different parties... for lifting themes. notice how the album never got released until recently and only a diminished version with limited release. Not to mention after that he stole from himself a lot (bicentennial man/ A Beautiful mind)

  • @BrachioInGen

LOL attitude? WHAT attitude? I was interested in what you had to say. I don't why you understand why you reacted so defensively; I wasn't critiquing you :)

  • @eric102988 you mean AVATAR sounds like this ^^

  • EPIC!

  • 4.09 - great..

  • this one sounds kinda similar to the pearl harbor soundtrack ... love it

  • 4:56 is Awesome

  • from 3:00 is the scene that see rome, that scene is very very beatifull!! i love it, long live to rome, the eternal city!
