Balling my eyes out. Wow. So beautiful & touching. My interpretation on choreography is it's about a boy that just lost his single mother, who he loved so dearly, & now has to immediately grow up & become a man in order to survive in this world.
Well if you go down the path the boy in all of us then this video makes sense.
the way i see that play out is think of the 2 boys as one person a boy becoming a man and the leaving behind his childish boy ways to become a man and the sense of regret that comes with the realization that once you separate away into becoming a man you cant go back thus the intimate look, the knowing that i am now a man and am shedding my boy self farewell innocence and hello adulthood.
wow this song caught me off guard, it was an anthem song of sorts, when i was an aids buddy volunteer years ago, brought back lots of memories... nice vid
I see two boys, who are in love....one older and one younger. I see the older boy trying to persuade, and with pain, the younger to forget him and go with his peers. The younger wants to be with the older, but the older insists. It is a very hurtful experience which they are going through, but which the older thinks is best for the youngster to forget him, because of their ages. But the youngster, apparently, disagrees.
I think that is certainly one possibility. Love and relationships certainly seems to be the underlying theme, so it could also be the relatinship between two brothers - my own take on it. One viewer claims that the producer's own theme was "the boy in all of us" but that seems a bit too vague, given the depth of feeling in the performance.
It's very difficult giving a definition with a feeling. Look inside the movie 'The Cure'or 'You are not alone', or Homoerotic it's not the same thing as Homosexual. Certainly it's a underlying relation ship with 2 brothers or friends. The border is thin, It's above all experience personal, not to label with his relation.
I recently found another instance of this video titled "Father and Son" on a German site, which is apparently where this is from. The slight age difference between the dancers doesn't support that, but perhaps they just used the dancers they had available. I'm still trying to find out if that is the original title. It would be nice to know what its creator intended. However, as with all interpretive art, the viewer is invited to attach their own meaning to it.
I fully agree with you. I recently lost my older brother, the emotions, the drifting apart, the way the older one seems to always be there for the younger one, the sense of brotherly love is so strong in this choreography. Those of us who have been blessed with strong healty relationships with their brothers will recognize it in this choreography.
this has a real emo(tional) feeling my bf is emo the dancing isnt so rip but the story i interperate as 2 boys inlove and the the younger is leaving the other but having trouble going. is this a play? i think everyone would like to find out. me and my boyfriend loves it . thanks tonns for posting it
thye do look like brothers, and your theory on the dance makes sense, but when they gaze into eachothers eyes it looks rather intimate. then again, there may be no meaning at all =)
Thanks for the information. That would have been my second interpretation! lol. Do you know any more about the performers, or the group they perform with? Are there other works by the same boys out there?
My take on this video is that is about the relationship between brothers. However, I don't know the source of the video yet, and I'm hoping someone can identify it. Maybe then we will know the real theme.
Thanks. We've known the origins of the song, but they don't seem to have anything in particular to do with the video. Others have said it's of German origin, but I've found nothing yet to confirm that. It was sent to me by a friend several years ago.
Sweet.

Sorry lady, choreography isn't "about" anything but dancing. These boys are beautiful their dancing is beautiful and there is not a "mom" in sight.

Definitely feels like two brothers, the way the older one keeps picking up and catching the younger one. They either drift apart, or one dies.
