Love Scotland.. a beautiful country and I can easily why it was fought for so bravely. Love Runrig and the Scots themselves .... and yes, I'm English.
@bigcoolviking Absolutely. It is a religious experience listening to Runrig do songs like this. Add Every River, The Mighty Atlantic, and Loch Lomond to that list as well.
Sorry Bruce, I love you being with Runrig, but listening to this makes me cry missing Donnie. His passion can not be copied. I am so glad for having been at his farewell concert in Cologne in 1997.
This song gives me goosebumps, as do every other song by Runrig. My body lives in the United States, but my heart lives in Scotland. ALBA GU BRATH!!!!
Runrig does have an effect for sure. My scots/Irish ancestry is what calls to me the most. One day to live across the pond in the highlands .Will have to visit ireland often though.
@BeccaBooLovesMF We seem to be 2 peas in a pod! One of my best friends who lives in Kirkwall on the Orkney Isles says Runrig was best when Danny Munroe was with the group! Another friend in Scotland agrees. Alba is another powerful song! Scotland forever!
definitely loch morar. i lived by the loch. much more beautiful than loch ness. nobody will ever take the memories away. my dad was always fishing on the loch.
I'ma Glasgow man, I love Morar, spent time camping there in my twenties, and then with my family ,Swam where the Loch empties into the sea near the White Sands (not recommended-very dangerous, I was lucky!
Gee, it's possible I'll be going to live in Australia in the not too distant future. If I hear or see anything like this before I go, I'll never get there...
i was there every year for the holidays and know every inch of the place it is so in my heart, my dads ashes are scattered over loch morar, bless you dad
wow what a song i'm a english man but just love scottish music. you scottish people are so warm and put everything into what you sing. even bout the english (hehe) ty runrig for this beautiful song.. bob
Beautiful music , my dad when he was cycling through the Scottish Highlands in the 30,s said Loch Morar was the most beautiful Loch in Scotland he had seen in his travels.
I need more of this music! I had never heard of Runrig before. Is there anyone else like them(or better, even)? There is so much Celtic music from the women, which is good; but where is all the music from the men?
I just discovered them, too--they're wonderful!!! Really love Back of the Moon too but can't find 'em on Utube. My husband said 'that Irish music sounds more fierce than usual' & I said 'that's because it's Scottish!!!' Very proud to be descended from the last free place on Earth! Love, Minnie
aye he got to full of himself i think, thought the people would listen ti him, forgot himself i think, was just the songs and the band his voice they should get back togeter and remember there roots and get back to doing what they did pre cutter and the clan days and the cutter and clan days,i dont listen to anything after that record.
Song has ALWAYS made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.. and my whistle is the last thing you'll hear after this song on Runrig's live album from the Barralands gig in Glasgow 1987/8 (?)fantastic vid there big man...

Love the video (and the song). Runrig are a great band.
Just a shame that this song isn't longer, it seems to finish too abruptly, has anyone noticed that? (still a good song though.)
