Just started re-playing guitar after a 10 year hiatus and I'm having a lot of trouble with my fingers dampening the strings within each chord that I try to play: such as D, C, A, F. I'm OK with an E chord. I have a new guitar-a Silver Creek D-170. It's been checked by a luthier for correct action. However, I feel uncomfortable with it because the strings seem too high off the fretboard and the space between the strings seem too close together. Should I file down the saddle and bridge nut?
I notice that you use your thumb to mute the 6th string to keep the C chord from sounding bad. I have been doing the same thing for the past two years to mute on chords like Am, D, C, etc. But I just started taking lessons to make sure I was doing alright and the teacher said not to use my thumb. My fingers are long enough that my wrist stays straight even when using the thumb...so I can't figure out why he doesn't want me to do that. Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks :)
Few Chords For Beginners If You Want Them: A - X02220 B - X24400 C - X32010 D - XX0232 E - 022100 F - XX3211 G - 320001 The X's represent not playing that string. The numbers are what frets you put your fingers on. The 0's indicate open played strings. The Order Of The Numbers Are EADGBE.
Thanks! Make more vids like this please. I dont know know the notes though, i think you should do a close up on yours fingers on the neck of the guitar. Thanks!! Love the strumming.
it might sound strange, but it always looks like you're trying to hold your laugh, and are about to burst laughing :D which makes me hold my laugh, too lol
thanks Megan.that was really helpful.one problem however.you are so beautiful its hard to concentrate at times.your smile is so sexy-if there is such a thing.

Am - X02210

That represents the 6 strings and the fret number to play on each string.
