  • Benzene is used in fracking. OSHA (osha.gov/SLTC/benzene/) has this to say about benzene: "With exposures from less than five years to more than 30 years, individuals have developed, and died from, leukemia. Long-term exposure may affect bone marrow and blood production. Short-term exposure to high levels of benzene can cause drowsiness, dizziness, unconsciousness, and death."

  • Packers Plus is a complete joke. Been there, had to tolerate the bullshit, seen the fuck ups. Complete Junk. It is a good idea, but it does not work in reallity. Peak Completions even tried to improve on Packers Plus's ideas, but they screwed up their attemps even worse than Packers Plus.

    Too many nerds in an office, over thinking an idea, and forcing field hands to use a screwed up idea, and totally screwing up an entire field.

  • how much water on average is needed to drill one horizontal well  till completion?

    i presume a horizontal well drilling takes a few days? not sure how many. anyone know how many?

  • @gheezwiz... It all depends on the system of extraction and resources found and how deep... I've seen 360,000 b/d (x42=gals) of water on a rigging area..1/3 of the water is recylced called produce water, sometimes less... it can/does ruin drinking water, if the wellsites are too close by. - former, frac/water hauler Hllbrtn

  • These wells are much more expensive to drill than vertical wells-if the price of oil and gas were to fall back down to $20/bbl, you wouldn't see this sort of activity.

    that might be true ! but i believe efficiency and higher productivity of them, makes up for the higher initial cost.

    Its way more economical if there are proven reserves of oil and gas there
