I would suggest going over to the Parallax website and check out any documentation that have on the RFID Reader Module. It's been so long that I'm not sure I can help you with the specifics, and while I know that labview is probably very capable of doing just that, I don't have any experience with it myself. At the time I just tweaked the example code to do the job I wanted it to do. Sorry!
I am trying to get one of these RFID readers working, but im not sure how to work with the serial output. I would like to be able to pull the signal in to Labiew to read the RFID tag number. Can you help me with any resourses or advice?
I heard rumor that local radioshacks have been selling them (quite cheaply), so you might look into that if you are in the states. Otherwise, you can always purchase them from Parallax directly, as they are perfectly fine with purchases of single units of their hardware. :)
You mean the EM4102? I'm not entirely sure what would make it better or worse, but I use it because it's easy to find, easily accessible, and easy to use, ie It doesn't take too much studying to figure out how to use it in your own project.
