i could make a better 1 if i had the money for research i would make a better 1 and at a low price 2 so every 1 could have 1 and no more brooms thumbs up if u agree with me
I had a feeling my robot was misbehaving when I was not home, I set up a video camera and got the proof that I needed. Beware, this technology is sending your personal info with audio and video to the gov't. It also hacks into wireless modem w/o your knowledge...
The iRobot cleaning robots are programmed to run patterns across a surface repeatedly until all areas have been cleaned. In our demo, there probably wasn't time for it to run its complete cycle. And this is an older model we sold several years ago. I suspect that the newer models are even better.
@HSN Yeah, you are right, I did see it completely sweep up all of the dirt! I ended up buying it for my garage. Do you know my uncle who works at HSN by any chance, Ed Schwartz? I know it is a random question, but I am just curious. :)
I haven't had the pleasure of meeting your uncle. Doe he work in St. Pete? Is he by chance on on-air guest? If so, then I at least know who you're talking about.
Notice after 2 minutes, the robots keep missing one patch next to where they starter, and when they move onto next floor, the price window covers up the bit's the robot missed!
I own 2 roombas and 1 scooba: YES these machines are slower than humans, but you don't need to do it! My home gets vacuumcleaned EVERY DAY (due to the timer/shedule) and I'm NEVER there to do it! I come home in a clean house... that's the great thing about robots... slower, yes... but they work while you are away, and you don't have to do it... who cares if it takes 1 or 2 hours to clean my house with a robot when I'm away for at least 8hours a day?
Hey, don't get me wrong! I'm really for these robos..but Im still waiting for a house cleaning robot that is just or near efficient and effective as a human. I'm guessing that going to be a while! /:) Go on robo techs! Keep developing!
I understand your desire for more, but as a designer myself I've learned there is no use in waiting for 'that sudden point'. Everything moves slowly, needs time to adapt etc.
Honestly I'm VERY impressed that the roomba's don't look the way they do and not like a 'humanoid with a vacuumcleaner in hand'. This is the mental picture that most people have of robots. It's old school sci-fi of course. Funny in a way, but not reality.
Basicly I'm found to see that roomba design has grown a lot and has evolved in an archetypical shape. That shape just makes so much sense! Just wondering how the scooba will evolve: I would really love to see a weekly shedule possibility, with an automatic tank refill of some kind... That would be so groovy.
For now, I'll keep telling people about adopting the robot-attitude. Most people laugh but don't get it. "well your washing machine is ALSO a robot, and sure it doesn't walk around, but it's the same, not???
Uhmmm...yeah, I work for them...sure...anyone who has an opposing opinion to you must be suspect, and part of the evil iRobot Empire, secretly subjecting the denizens of civilized nations to compulsory 'laziness'...what a turn-minion.

No. It "learns" your floor area and remembers where it's been so it covers the entire floor it can access.
