First Oasis gig.. my buddy Scoby who was the biggest Oasis fan i ever knew bought me a ticket for it... . bottles of Buckfast and the best day ever... RIP Scoby
This was the first of 2 gigs in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. It was Live on 2fm that night 14/8/96. The gig the next night 15th was the leaving cert results day!!! And what a day trip!!
This cant be Cork in '96 because this song was on the next album 'Be Here Now' which wasnt released until '97!! Cork was a fantastic occasion. Leaving Cert Results day and scorching hot weather, heady days!
@nman06 Really? I wasn't aware of that!! Good song, but I dont remember thinking it was familiar when Be Here Now was released. It was probably lost on me at the time with all the classics from Definitely Maybe & Whats The Story Morning Glory. 15 YEARS AGO TODAY!!!!!!! I agree a defining gig and the best they produced in their Irish gigs.
took a coach down from Omagh with my cousins to this concert, for me Prodigy were unbelievable, so much energy in their performances, Oasis were great too.
i got lost after this gig, cops took me in 4 pissin onrove from top of the bridge n cork, father drove from mayo to cork to collect me....BEST GIG EVER...a defining moment in rock n roll history...leaving cert results out that day.....wen OASIS were on top of the World...it'll b a long time b4 one band comes again and gets into the lives of a nation and means something to them... LIVE FOREVER
this is rare and and a jem, anyone who was there will remember the the two gigs great weather and oasis riding the crest of a wave, this was one of the best gigs in Ireland ever.
Hey joceire this video was actually shot from right at the back of the stadium, your man started filming it beside us in the right stand but he got caught and the security wanted to take his tape so he moved to the back and continued filming...thats why the first 3 songs are missing from the full gig video!!!
Oh man I thought it was the dude in the front pit. Dude had some balls standing there with a camcorder filming away. He was literally 5 to my right crammed into the front pit. Still a legend concert man. Do you still have that tape? I would pay you for a copy man.
This video was recorded by a guy beside us at the gig, I was only 16!!! My Dad and Brother were with me, he dropped the full gig on VHS into my Dad a few days after it back up in Dublin.
Prob the best/coolest gig I've ever been to. Godlike
Great upload. I was at this gig in the Park as they call it down in Cork. It was the defining moment for a whole generation in Ireland, just as the Knebworth and Loch Lomond gigs were in Britain. I'd love to see some more of this or Slane '95 if anybody has it. The Tivoli in Dublin in September '94 is probably the one gig that I would like to hear above any of them though.
@franko05dublin I was there! (The Tivoli, Sept 94). My first gig. The week Definitely Maybe came out. Ticket price £5.75! McCarroll's drums broke down half way through and Noel played a solo rendition of D'Yer Wanna Be a Spaceman while they tried to fix the kit. He said it was the first time he was going to play solo during an Oasis gig, and of course not long after his solo spots would be a highlight of every gig they did from there on.
was at that gig and many more after plusnhave seen many great bnds play live. but this still sticks out as the best gig ive ever been to and dont think il be to another like it!. maybe slane 09 should be cracker!

@garrip They played it live before the album was released, they play it at the infamous Knebworth gigs which were a couple of months before this
