Hey dude this is a cool lesson. I thought you might like to check out a new guitar website that really helps beginner guitarists. >> RexPearson. com << Would love for you to give some feedback and maybe even do a guest lesson for it?
dummy there is no "Cm pentatonic blues" penta means 5 "tonic" tone (5 tone scale) so you can play a Cm pentatonic (5 note) or a Cm Blues (6 note) ... and other modes...I hate people that teach that can barely play themselves it makes it harder for the real teachers correcting misinformation.... but hey that's the internet! any idiot can make a video!
This video made me (the beginner say an year of learning at home) to explore blues that i like among other music. I found C pentatonic blues at 8 fret very convinient to practise licks and improvisational skills.
Got one question also. I have strat style guitar at present with 9-42 strings. Do you think that me, the beginner would be advisable to switch to say 10-46 strings to get more bluesy tone. Thanks!
at 0:55 he talks about licks.. more than one.. but he only plays one!! where is the rest!! (yeayea i know on video jam tracks i'm sure).. but really does it takes 10 min. to explain 4 notes?!?
Comments on YT videos helped me decide what kind of guitar to buy or at least to understand what I was looking at in the music store. It seems everyone pretty much agrees the Strat is the obvious choice for blues. I chose a LP because I found one I really liked and I already have a really cheap Squier and didn't want something too similar even if it's way better. My strat isn't nearly as good as my Paul but there is something to be said for the sound it has, especially for blues.
i jost wanna play the guitar like you well no,t like you cause you realy know how to play but i wanna lear rock en reggae and blues cause a play in tha church and i wanna play somthig differint
Fret buzz can be caused by some higher frets, try lifting the strings higher by adjusting your bridge a slight amount until it goes away. You may need the frets dressed. If it persists, take it to a pro guitar guy and have it looked at.
stupid!!!!

Love the blues. Anybody heard of Fret Daddy fretboard stickers? Thinking of checking them out -- seems like a great way to learn the blues.

They sure as hell sound great, though. SRV played on 12s, if I'm not mistaken. I like the way 9s play, but I wouldn't use them for a gig.
BlackCrow1515 3 years ago
lol, SRV used .13s! He was a madman!
OneTimer1127 3 years ago
ya but when his hands got distroyed later in his career he dropped guage and 9s are good for everything i understand why you use them

Sir im a great admirer of your work! i have one small problem if you could tell me the solution please.
i bought a brand new guitar, the a and g and b strings give a buzz on the 3rd fret and on the 4th fret to a limit.
i tightened and loosened the screws on the bridge. the problem was solved to a limit, but the buzz isn't completely gone.
eroticblack 3 years ago
i also have the same problem on the third fret. going to change my strings soon, maybe i'll find out then
mavericknoone 3 years ago

na i changed my strings too
eroticblack 3 years ago
Sounds like your guitar may need a set up. Could be the truss rod needs adjusting or the action needs adjusting - either could give you a fret buzz.
rock on

I bet your frets have high spots and may need to be adjusted by filing them. Take it to a pro
1952Telecaster 3 years ago
Take it in or try to figure out how to fix it yourself but either way don't assume it should be ok or close just because it's a new guitar.
Had problems like this for a couple years before finding out it was never really set up in a way where there was a chance for everything to go right.
BlackAngusYoung 3 years ago
yeah you're right. i did it my self just raised the strings a bit
