Shaded spot with a good air flow is probably best if you can find one on the bike somewhere.

I am still convinced my old alcohol thermometer gives the most consistent results in a shady spot.

it looks like you have it on a black surface that will bring it up

i keep my sensor in a shaded spot on my bike

what about saddle bags for more space for storeage
