  • Rather ironic Doctor Who didn't do too well at the Awards. This intro alone deserved an award!

  • @NJPinator Same, I didn't know this happened.

  • The one tiny mistake that destroys the entire universe...not voting for Doctor Who to win, perhaps?

  • @WackyTeeVee no...

  • Did anybody get the Doctor interrupting Graham Norton joke? ;)

  • @Shadolad Turning the tables on Graham for interrupting The Time Of Angels :P

  • It was a tough call, and I was hoping to be satisfied since I liked most of the shows....but nobody I voted for won, except I'm a celeb.

I like David Jason, it was his last series on frost...so better now then ever. But seriously? No awards for doctor who or sherlock and the both came twice....and nothing?....And who watches waterloo road??

DID ANYBODY ELSE THINK THE TARDIS WAS GOING TO GO TO BAKER STREET?

  • @DJOfRadioGallifrey - OMG. I would have been the HAPPIEST person ever if the Tardis had gone to Baker Street!!!!!

  • @Shifterred lol I know. Bring 2 icons togther, oh well next time

  • @DJOfRadioGallifrey I think it was silly that david jason won it as he not done much of the last 2 years I think matt as the doctor would be a better choice I think the whole night was a fix on who won them eastenders should never won best soap drama coz corrie had the better year with the tram and better story lines then them

and I voting for doctor who I wonder what is waterloo road I never heard of the show and they won it I need to know why it look crap in the trailers when I looked it up

  • HOW THE HECK DID THIS NOT GET ANY AWARDS. I love Doctor Who with all my heart and Matt Smith is an absolutely brilliant actor and Doctor. I demand a recount! Or something!

  • In RTD's first term he got feck all in awards, once he hit his stride and people had bought into the show he had great recognition for the show. Like then this is a brand new show over again with not just a new Doctor but a brand new writing style, crew, directing style and overall production differences, this time next year once Moffats second season has passed this will be different. No one deserves an award like Matt Smith..

  • I can't believe Doctor Who didn't win any awards. Moffat is an absolutely fantastic writer, and Matt plays the Doctor brilliantly! Time to prepare for that explosion.

  • at least the BBC didn't sink so low as to bribe their viewers into voting for their shows.....

*cough* this morning. *cough* loose women.

  • Really liked the beginning! xDD Made me laugh when the monster turned out to be Dot :P Secretly glad Doctor Who didnt win any awards though, always said the newest series wasnt as good as the RTD era and the NTA's kind of proved it in a way :) But I do feel a bit sorry for Matt

  • @CrazyBoutBillie Moffat is an amazing writer compared to RTD, everyone knows that. Every single script Steven wrote in RTD's era won awards. Every one. Not to mention RTD is killing Torchwood, and was replaced by our dear Mr. Moffat in Doctor Who. That happened for a reason. Have you SEEN Sherlock?

RTD and Tennant were good. But Steven Moffat blows him away.

  • @Aiicyla He was a great writer from series one through to four and I admit I LOVE Sherlock but he just doesnt do anything for me when hes writing this new Who :) Im not saying he cant write because he can but I really didnt like series five (I'm not some RTD or Tennant fangirl either, there were some RTD shows I loathed) But its just strange that a show can win sooo many awards every year since its revival and suddenly one year walk away empty handed :)

  • @CrazyBoutBillie Just because it didn't win awards doesn't mean series five isn't ridiculously popular and rightfully praised. The NTAs are just what viewers vote for the most, and Doctor Who is a cult thing. I mean, I'm a Celebrity? Really?? Goes to show you what kind of people are voting in the NTAs...

So just because it didn't win anything, doesn't mean it wasn't AMAZING like always. :) And will continue to be really popular and loved, I hope!

  • @CrazyBoutBillie The line up was too strong, some of the actors and shows they were up against were too different to decide between, I mean David Jason is an establish actor with a knighthood, and Matt has just started in comparison, hardly a fair choice if you think about it. Plus the general public don't know good television, just because something's insanely popular doesn't mean it's any good, I know people who admitted to me that they on liked the show because they fancied Tennant...

  • @CrazyBoutBillie

Also there was nothing wrong with Series 5 to me, the show was tracing it's roots and being more intelligent on terms of scripting, there were no really bad cop outs. Some episodes were a little misguided on writing terms, but they were tiny things, overall I thought it was an improvement from the previous four years, now that the rubbish of RTD is gone. It's Moffat's first season and he's setting the stage for a whole new future, that was series 5's main purpose.

  • @CrazyBoutBillie not really coz it was shite NTA coz I think the whole thing was big joke coz david jason win best acter and he not done as much as matt smith in the pass year

  • Hehe

  • "if they make one tiny mistake, the whole universe might explode"

half an hour later, waterloo road beats doctor who

still waiting for this universal explosion

  • Matt lost to David Jason. :(

  • @TheInfinityParadox I know david jason not done nothing for 2 years jack frost end year and half ago and give it him

  • @davidcrazyrides "A Touch of Frost" finished in April 2010.

  • He didnt even mention Dermots bowtie xD its cool

  • @essay383 Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the 10th Doctor said that a plain black bowtie was the biggest fashion travesty. :P Maybe his taste in clothing has not changed that much.

  • I take great pleasure in the fact that ITV can't even present an awards show without help from the BBC's greatest show!

  • @TheInfinityParadox Damn straight! Me too!

  • And the stellar villain of Season 31... Graham Norton.

  • lol brusey!!!

    awesome opening XD

  • damn it doctor get it right

  • I hope i oversleep one day and the Doctor helps me get to my appointments :)
