Great Deal. Cant beat a good mower for 5 bucks any day. I have a mower that looks very similar to the one in this video. It starts fne but the majority of the time it rev's high and then low / high and then low. over and over and only tryies to run at a steady speed when its cutting . It's like it has to have a load on the motor to stop the revving. Does anyone have any idea why my mower does that? It's a Craftsman 22inch cut with a Briggs & Stratton 550 series / 158cc / 5.50 ft-lbs Torque .
Would you beleive that I found this exact same mower except it was self propelled at the end of a drive way with a sign that said "FREE". It was beautiful and the paint was still glossy. I threw it in my truck and brought it home. It wouldnt fire so I pulled the carb and cleand the main jet and boom it fired. Its the smoothest running mower ive ever used.
this was awesome, i looked for 5 hrs to find the one picture here on the govenor linkage to fix my mower. they should call the internet the disinformation network

I bought Gumout Small Engine Cleaner, took off the air cleaner, sprayed into the carb throat and as far back into it as I could. I left it to soak overnight, but had doubts. I saw your video this morning, then started it and it went right off, lots of smoke from the cleaner. It starts great now. Your video confirms the needed fix.
I did not need to do that. It turned out to be rotton gas that was causing the hard starting. I ran the engine until the tank turned dry, and now she fires right up after 3 primes.

Nice man. Great find! Never seen a Push mower (Non Self-Proppeled) with those big wheels but I really like the big wheels.
