  • Kojak was the only one that knew how many licks did it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop

  • Big pimpin Telly.

  • makes me want a tootsie pop.........how many licks to get to the center......one....two....

  • Theodosios Kojak. How did they ever come up with "Kojak" for a Greek last name?

  • John Cacavas composed this great theme!

  • Kojak owns your ass if you mess with him

  • My god this is tv here

  • Greeks are like Jews without the money.

  • The shots in this opening are too tight to see the Twin Towers. You never actually see the skyline, just a cluster of buildings in midtown. The Twin Towers were completed in the summer of 1971-before Kojak went on the air.

  • entzückend baby

  • Prima!!! einfach nur Coool!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • STAVROS !!!

  • .... LT. Theo Kojak Police Departmend

    Manhattan Sued....

  • Une série géniale! Il devrait la rediffuser!

  • Yeah it's NYC but the Twin Towers weren't built until 1973.

  • He is Greek and the Godfather of

Jennifer Aniston. he and John Aniston were good friends and both Greek!

  • ekeino einai polikaka..

  • I'm sitting here with an all-day sucker [with Kojak printed on it? yeah, right!], and I'll be buggered if I can see The World Trade Center [The Twin Towers] anywhere in that Kojak show opening. "Tell me about it!" That is New York, right?

  • @mcclir - Yul Brynner was the other "Bald white guy" that looked cool. In fact, he was around a few years before Telly Savalas hit it big on the acting scene.

  • Comment removed

  • @mcclir Wrong! There was Yul Brynner as well...

  • @mcclir Wrong....don't forget Yul Brenner!

  • @mcclir maybe michael douglas in a few months too.....

  • @mcclir And lets not forget Stone Cold Steve Austin as well.

  • @mcclir Patrick Stewart? Vin Diesel? Michael Chiklis?

  • What a great TV show. Unforgettable.

Still waiting for the 2nd season dvd release.

  • CROCKA!

  • Liked this theme music much better than the later version. Kojak was one cool cop and that's the way the cookie crumbles, baby!

  • Great theme music. I think Baretta had a good theme as well.

  • tiene la cabeza como un chupa chups!!

  • but you know wht killed me about kojak??? in nyc, he always got the first parking space.

  • Sunday night after 60minutes, World at War and Walter Conkrite.

The house was always tense and I couldn't ask a question about sh:t on Kojak - I'd just be told it was for grown-ups and to shut the hell up if I didn't like it. =/

  • who loves ya baby,,,the best line in tv hands down

  • well yes. after nice to see you, to see you nice

  • kojak bad ass!!!!!!! they don't make detective series like that anyone..they have these panzie ass ncsi dog meat

  • The reason the ladies loved him was because he was such a bad ass! My memory of him is hazy because I was only very young at the time, but I thought he was cool because he was a proper man..except when he bullied his brother. Boys need role models. What have they got now? A bunch of politically correct pussies looking to please the women all the time. I'm sure the ladies laugh at them!

  • ..and why the hell he was bachelor?!, it bothered me the most, from my point of view cheracters like Kojok (oldfashioned, sedate,..) must've been married??

  • Someone at the actual New York Police Department said: "If we had a detective going around acting like Kojak, we'd have him fired!"

  • why ?

  • Because his behavior was more about what made for an entertaining TV show than what made for a professional cop.

  • ok, i thought he would say "If we had a detective acting like Kojak the city will be safer!!" i want to know what he used to do to be that unrealistic cop or that wacky character ?

  • I guess real police detectives never say "colorful" things like "Who loves ya, baby!"

  • well, i write a review about Kojak, i thought it was more real than any next supercup. and his doings weren't over the top, but did he do anything like that anyway ??

  • Being too realistic could in many cases mean the inclusion of some unsavoury characteristics that might turn off many of us-and destroy the sex appeal of the part ;)

  • yeah, but theo always managed to get a good parking place in down town manhattan.

  • MAGGAT YOU ALRIGHT.

  • Great dialogue:

    Kojak: CROCKER!

    Crocker: Yo!

  • The cigar and the hat and Kojak's bald head .

  • ...and the lolipops...!

  • KOJAK IS STILL FINE!!!

  • HE IS SOOOOO SEXXXXXYYYYY!

  • I'm so glad I lived through the 70's, what a great decade.......

  • Just read your comment.

I am also so glad I lived through the 1970s. Never repeated for enjoyment .... if only more of that time would resurface today!

  • yes I totally agree.......thanks..

  • @csebrigh I wish I lived through the 70s too. It looked like a fun decade.

  • @csebrigh Quoted for truth! Great music, great shows, great films, great title sequences, great theme tunes. It's the most plundered decade now for musicians and Hollywood film and TV studios.

  • @csebrigh I was born in 75 so I don't remember any thing from the seventies. So many great shows ! Please take the Bachelorette off the air nit sucks !!

  • ese es mi musica!

  • 1974 buick century
