Why is it that the 117-page Amnesty International report "found no evidence of Palestinian militants using human shields to stop Israeli attacks, but it accuses the Israel Defence Forces of launching attacks from buildings in which Palestinian civilians were sheltering, and charges Israeli forces with killing hundreds of unarmed Palestinian civilians and wanton destruction of thousands of homes."??
"Just because a government is democratic, doesn't mean its legitimate. A government that advocates and repeatedly attempts ethnic cleansing and the massacre of innocent civilians deserves no recognition of legitimacy from the international community." Well said, hence Israel is not a legitimate government. Thanks for the analysis brother.
RE: "to isolate and exclude the democratically elected Hamas government"
Hamas is an openly racist party that calls for the destruction of Israel and the ethnic cleansing- expulsion- of its Jewish citizens. Hamas has carried out continuous unprovoked attacks against Israeli civilians, thus violating international law. Hamas has kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, denying him even the most basic rights gauranteed for prisoners of war under the Geneva convention.
In short, it doesn't matter that Hamas is democratically elected! Just because a government is democratic, doesn't mean its legitimate. A government that advocates and repeatedly attempts ethnic cleansing and the massacre of innocent civilians deserves no recognition of legitimacy from the international community. STOP HAMAS!
the sound is awful- try to speak closer to the microphone, put some soft furniture in the room- it will kill echo. Are you practising to be a speaker at the UN? You look and sound... b-o-r-i-n-g...., pardon me....
fine, it's piracy. is it piracy when customs intercepts a boat full of Mexican drug smugglers in the waters off Tijuana/San Diego? trying to get my arms around your notion of piracy. my point was about what is justifiable force versus an overreaction. Yesterday the border patrol shot and killed a migrant (in Mexican soil) because he threw rocks at him. The union for the Border Patrol said throwing rocks is dangerous and the officer's reaction was justified. Where's the outcry, bud?
Great video. Israel needs to be taken to task for their crimes but at the same time, they are not the only ones responsible for the mess going on in the Occupied Territories. There are so many factors everyone needs to consider and you've explained them all so well. Thank you, Dan. :)
I wonder why you are so stupid and do not want to look into the truth ... you are playing with right and wrong and this is so stupid because those things are depended on definitions of fact and depending on that you get two versions that completely right and completely opposite to each other and that is the cause for VIOLENCE to which YOU SUPPORT
n the U.S., if you charge a cop with even a broomstick, much less a bottle, they'll shoot you dead. Invariably the district attorney concludes the shooting was justified. bc the offier perceived immediate harm to himself. His perceptions don't need to be reasonable or proportionate. Hundreds are killed by cops every year because an officer simply showed bad judgment or acted hastily. This is what happened on the flotilla. Activists came charging at the Israeli military and they responded.
@mythmaker1357 If they were in the US then a cop has the right to make that judgement, but when you are on board a ship in international waters no one has the right to board and harm peoplei think the term for this act is Piracy
You are using far too many colorful adjectives, adverbs, nouns and verbs. You sound like a one-sided buffoon. Tone back the verbage, and people might actually want to listen to what you say. That was awful.
@fishelfinder you might want to learn some vocabulary and perhaps engage in a useful debate regarding the presented ideas rather than show disrespect to the speaker.
the "peace" organization could have just gone through ashdod port, they could have supervised the transfer of goods from there to gaza peacefully. but they decided to provoke israel and go stright to gaza even though they knew israel has it boycott. they got warned that israel would stop the ships... the commandos went in the ship with friggin PAINTBALL guns just to scare off the people but they were attacked with knives, poles and anything possible so they had to fight back using real guns
It's really nice that you looked into what really happened and keeping a keen eye on such areas of this world where rarely seas light.
But I'm also unpleasant with the with government of Canada act following what ever US government lays on the table for them to take. Canada has to form its own perspective of what's really happening in this world and not just count on what US has to offer.
