Then why would he need the IBM 2100? If the time line he landed in was never the same (with a 2% error rate), then the time line he was going to in 2036 would also be different, if there are infinite realities (which he said there is) then chances are the 2036 time line he lands in will not even require the IBM 2100.

Ultimately: Why would he leave his time line to save his time line, when he would NEVER end up in that time line again? (these are his own words people.)

First of all, it's the IBM 5100. If you said it once I'd say it's a type, you said it twice which means you have no attention to detail. He said he will never go back to his exact universe. He has to go back to 1975 to go to where he landed and from that point move into his own universe. The catch is he can't go back to his exact world. The world he ultimately lands in will not be his but the changes will be so slim he'll never notice and thus it's basically the same.

You must admit something. If you read the Q&A with John Titor, his knowledge of Quantum physics is not that of an average web master. It's pretty advanced and the way he describes certain things are eerie. For example someone asks about computers in the future. He says they don't work on Ghz any long but rather on how many variables they can compute in a second. This sounds very much like the Quantum computers scientists are working on today to replace silicon chips.
