@viniv20 Not really most people with guns do know how to shoot at least good enough to hit someone at 10-20 feet or they wouldn't even own one the majority of murders with firearms are done by people who "don't know how to properly aim" but they still get the job done.

Don't you love how safety features are used against knife users? Oh your knife locks? That's illegal. Balisongs and fix blades done need locks? Well they are illegal too. If you hid your knife, then you are concealing a deadly weapon from law enforcement, illegal. You better open carry, unless someone sees you, then you are brandishing, so that's illegal too. Oh and if you even think about using that utility tool as a weapon to defend your life against an attacker, its now intended as a weapon.

While I wold rather stare down the barrel of a gun than the blade of a sword, in the hands of one who knows how to use it. I would have to disagree with you from a realistic stand point. A trained proffessional is usually target specific, not a random attacker and most pro's look only to defend. Run only if you know you're faster, if not draw, point and click.

Big ups to that last comment. I lived in a couple of the rougher areas of Oakland for 4 years, and never had a problem. It was all the way I presented myself. Respectful, friendly and relaxed. My neighbors liked me even though I was the only white boy in at least a square mile. The gangstas either ignored me or actually started talking to me after a while, but in the end conflict never came up.
Having a martial arts background seriously helped in keeping me relaxed though.

It's really too bad that some people are so small on the inside that they feel a need to 'be witty' to someone who is representing themselves with humility, dignity and skill like this.
I have the perfect self defense knife for me, it can be flicked open or opened with my thumb with just a click, and completely silently if it's not flicked open, it's titanium coated and razor sharp, it's small enough to be proven legal, splayed across my hand heal to fingertips (3"blade 4"handle) and it has a clothing clip attached by screws to be removable. not to mention it's got a nice dark colour and light oil slick effect =D.
I will Grant you this guy has true understanding of blade use. he exihbits good blade handling and good understanding, he also expresses the need for tactics. I have seen this man before and heard people laugh at him. but i will tell them and you his appearance belies his skill. his laid back aproach and teaching style inspires me to think he is a true sigung

I love my Kabar TDI. Fixed blade so I don't have to worry about locks and opening it. And the cant of the blade just screams CARVE!
I want to get another one, the serrated one. That is one mean looking blade.
